    Didn't he announce something like this years ago too? xD That he'll have his last "visual" gig... oh well, maybe just deja vu.
  2. LOL, I just read he (Perturbator) apparently played at this year's Brutal Assault too, that must've been something! Tho I can see how the subcultures might overlap in mutual interests, which is pretty cool. And yeah, Gost would be pretty rad too!
  3. Perturbator was insaaaaane! He brought the house down (or the ship if we wanna get technical xD), total retro-future club bangin' for an hour. He looked like he was doing lots of stuff too, tho from my viewpoint I couldn't really see the specific equipment. Anyway, he was really concentrating and always turning knobs and pushing buttons while looking #seriousasfuck and #evilasfuck. Background projection was pretty sweet too. Also shout out to our very own Lazerpunk, his warm-up show was cool too! (he has more of a retro video game / B-movie aesthetic) Next up: September 12, Carpenter Brut live!!

    I think not having amps and cables there is purely for artistic / visual reasons. They prolly think it wouldn't look that good, and would kill the "fantasy", tho that's just my guess. Take for example this BUCK-TICK video... would those awesome projections and that ethereal otherworldly white place look as nice if they included all the cables (they don't use them live anyway, only transmitters) and amps and effect pedals and Imai's theremin? I don't think so. Anyway, here are some random examples of VK music vids where there actually is some substantial gear. xD MEJIBRAY - A PRIORI (basically their regular live gear as far as I can see) D'espairsRay - DEATH POINT (here, it may have to do with the aesthetics of the vid that they actually have all those amps and wires there) lynch. - A Gleam In Eye (same as above, it has a gritty & raw feel, so I guess the director felt it would be good to have the live gear there)
  5. ^ It's an Alice in Wonderland reference~ ;<
  6. Cool review! I went into listening to this mini with great expectations, and I guess it isn't bad or anything, it just didn't grip me as much as their massive debut full-length. It starts off really strong with the first two tracks, then kinda stagnates in a "this is good enough I guess"-type of repetition of sounds, and then towards the end they try to change it up a bit, not too convincingly though. On the other hand, there's a nice overall soundscape of dirty distorted tones and fitting atmosphere, which is a huge plus. These guys made a clear-cut world for themselves, and they're okay with sticking to it, and I'm totally okay with that too. I'd rather listen to this kind of VK than all the dime-a-dozen metalcore-wannabes. All in all, it's a solid listen but a bit of a letdown compared to their fantastic beginnings. On its own, however, it's a pretty fine achievement for such a young band. (I'm a bit torn whether to give a 6.5 or a 7, but gonna go with a weak 7 cuz these guys are still pretty cool in my book)
  7. Lillies and Remains will release their new live DVD "ROMANTICISM Tour 2015 - Live at Daikanyama UNIT" on 2015/09/06. It'll only cost 3,000円, tho sadly there won't be many tracks on it, and looks like it's live & webshop limited. 1. The Fake 2. Broken Receiver 3. Sublime Times 4. Like The Way We Were 5. Final Cut 6. 11. Niiice! Also, is it just me or does his voice sound a bit like early Gackt here? XD

    The band's new video "LET IT DIE" will premiere on 2015/08/07 (tomorrow) at 12.00 pm JST.
  13. Well, look at it this way: when they did something like this (I think with their EP?), that song made its way onto the album ultimately. But anyway, good to see they're alive and well.
  14. Jigsaw9

    Yay, officially welcome!
  15. Dunno why, but I just can't get into anything by PT that they've done for the past few releases - this one included. Anyway, if they should release a new album in the future, I'll gladly check that out.

    Just bought Loyal To The Grave's "North Truth" (EP) and "Still Climbin' Still Believin'" (album) digitally thru Google Play, for a total of like $6. What a steal! There's some surprising Japanese music selection there btw, and all for quite cheap!
  17. Well that was kinda repetitive as hell, but at least the sound is kinda cool. Cautiously looking forward to it I guess...?

    Awww that's nice of them.
  19. Nice vid & fun poppy tune. Reminds me of Vidoll a bit.
  20. It's not cheesy, it's unremarkably boring.
  21. *tries to keep up THE MORTAL hype flag but it keeps getting blown away by you know what* ;w;
