  1. ^ Glad you're digging the Tribulation stuff. I've been initially kinda iffy about it (loved it at first but somehow the whole album was just too 'huge' for me), but it's some pretty cool and interesting batch of music. They'll be playing over here in Hungary next year in January or February, def gonna go see them (I guess it'll be a Europe tour, so you'll have a chance too). In totally unrelated news, I've been sucked into the world of Grip Inc. recently. How come I've never listened to these guys I just don't know. Killer thrashy modern/groove metal, excellent powerful vocals, razor-sharp guitar assault and of course Mr. Lombardo's pounding drum attacks. I've almost finished the discog, everything just sounds equally fantastic. Can't praise them enough. Guitarist Waldemar Sorychta's old band Despair seems like some cool proggy thrash too, so gonna check that out later for sure.
  2. Dat engrish, 10/10. Also, good to know about the songs being included for the full album (now I know i'll only buy that one xD).

Jean Ray: Malpertuis - The tagline was that this guy was the 'Flemish Lovecraft', so I sat down with high hopes, but this is nothing like Lovecraft, haha. It's more like a mildly boring haunted house scenario so far, tho I'm only halfway through. Gonna finish it up tomorrow on a train ride, hopefully it picks up steam in the second half. Benedek Totth: Holtverseny [Hungarian, title translation could be something like 'Dead Heat'] - ...aaand another book with a slightly boasting tagline; this one's being compared to Trainspotting. Again, high expectations based just on that. So far it delivers, nice pace and funny dialogues, with just the right amount of vacant teenage despair and nihilism that I like, heh. Will finish this one fast, methinks.
  5. finally something just for me

^ If you liked Jacob's Ladder, I totally recommend Angel Heart, even though it's more of a mixture of horror and mystical thriller kinda. Just don't read a lot about it in advance, cuz you might spoil it for yourself. xD Also, Carnival of Souls and The Jacket resemble Jacob's Ladder in a way, but more in the main 'thing', not the atmosphere that much (tho the former one comes close, and is still great).
  8. Not bad so far, I guess......?

I'd say the 2nd one is almost as good as the first, and the 5th (Inferno) and 6th (Hellseeker) movies are very decent too. I don't really get all the hate towards them. It's been a while since I last saw them, but I remember them as being hella dark and creepy. Granted, they don't really feature Pinhead or other cenobites that much (I think the scripts of one or both of these flicks were originally written as completed unrelated to Hellraiser?), but they capture the inner torment that's at the heart of the Hellraiser universe in a strong way.
  11. Pretty cool, tho I've only listened to it twice so far. It sounds a bit more 'together' and mature than the Beastmilk stuff... a bit more dramatic maybe? More emphasis on mood rather than danceable post-punk tunes. I quite like it!

  19. THE NOVEMBERS are a pretty alright band, but with master Masami at the helm this is gonna be grrreat.
  20. Yeah, I just noticed the composition is DIAURA related, nice! Also, that Etcetera song is pretty sweet.
  21. Thx for clarification, trombe! Honestly, three pretty cool bands, some new tunes, some interesting versions and a closing fun bonus, this is gonna be the V.A. album of the year for me (not that I've heard any others, lol).
