Well that's kinda random. Tho cool I guess. Dude's almost double the age of the other participants btw (just hit 61 this year). XD

LMAO, I just knew that "far away..." part was familiar from somewhere... But other than the lyrics and usage (as background chorus/vocals), they seem to be kinda different notes/melody-wise.

DIR EN GREY will hold their short American tour (including USA, Mexico and Canada) in November. See flyer for dates: https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/11695026_1099507713396956_4201717498119024746_n.jpg?oh=6d810ebc472738d07aa136cc97bca092&oe=56592511

Sounds pretty good so far.

d'awwww again...

Well let's see how this will turn out....

^ I wouldn't say he's a top-5 in my list but I totally get what you're saying! He's just...really fitting, and I couldn't imagine MEJIBRAY without him, no matter how weird or awful he might be at times. Kinda like how I was with NEGA and Jin.

ta-daaa~ http://hollowthrone.tumblr.com/post/123912847891/crossfaith-xeno edit: this actually started out kinda nice, but got lamer as it progressed, ehh... xD Not for me.

According to the band's twitter:

Gonna be recklessly spinning tunez from Japanese prettyboys in makeup with guitars tonight uguuu

^ Is there official info out yet that it's only 2 tracks tho? The big announcement is coming tomorrow night, so we'll find out soon enough I guess. The guys were featured in some Western metal mag recently too, in the process of recording, so I'm guessing it'll be a full-length or a mini at least.

Randomly came across this band on last.fm today and they're actually pretty nice! So I'm looking forward to their first album, I guess.

Good choice for vocalist!

This band seemed so awesome when only their first previews came out, but the actual songs were kinda meh for me... Still, I'll keep my eyes open for this cuz they seem like they have the potential to be great (and I'm more of an album person anyway).

The new Cradle of Filth album is a bit more solid than I initially expected, so I'm pleased. Even those two songs that had official YT-audio sound better here in an album context, next to the other tracks. Can't really say anything more now, only through my first listen and it's hella long, haha. But the bonus tracks are pretty kickass too, so props to them! Might go see them live in November.

I guess this isn't a ripoff or anything because the melody/chords sound like anyone could make them up, it's just something I recently noticed and it amused the hell out of me. Okay, so I was browsing Youtube for random Public Image Ltd videos (the band of Johnny Rotten after Sex Pistols), and I came across this: As soon as it got to 0:29 I had a weird feeling... I totally know this melody from somewhere... then it hit me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bk6k5p0unJI Well, it sounds pretty much exactly the same, except it's played lower. Okay, so BOOWY obviously took a bit too much inspiration from Public Image Ltd, right? This is where it gets interesting. PiL's song was released as a single in September 1983 (and later on an album in 1984). BOOWY released their track on their self-titled album in 1985, however it seems their song goes way back! In 1979, a few years before the formation of BOOWY, singer Kyosuke Himuro was in a band called デスペナルティー (Death Penalty) who wrote a song titled ブルー・シガレット・ラブ (Blue Cigarette Love)... which provided the basis for what later became BOOWY's song CHU-RU-LU! Check it out (sorry, you have to go to YT cuz they didn't allow embedding): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HQydZioArQ Also note how the melody is slightly different here, while BOOWY's later reworking is a lot more like the PiL song. A mixture of coincidence, (un)conscious inspiration, telepathy, whatever, who knows. XD

Suddenly spinning lots of Sleaford Mods today... idk, just something very catchy and hypnotic about these minimalistic musical rants.
-
Sweet cover!
-
Hoping it'll be goooood~
-
Sounds decent so far.

I remember being put off by the first song, but the rest weren't bad. Granted, I don't even wanna re-listen right now, so yeah... Still lots of room to improve but it isn't a bad start. Everything just sounds kinda lackluster so far. ...kinda ?

new Charisma.com album ayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

*kinda. lol. Listening to it right now... Oh lawd. xD Going to have to change my review choice, lol. Thought I'd have a good opinion on it straight away but it's VERY underwhelming.
