  1. I personally enjoy HEAD SPEAKER, bomi, and yun*chi.

Oh, yun*chi is pretty cool, I can dig this.  Kinda reminds me of Kyary.  The other two were more pop-rock, I'm looking for more straight up pop music.  Thanks! :D

  2. Trying to get into more jpop.  The groups, artists, w/e I dig right now are:

    Azuma Hitomi

    BENI

    BoA

    FLOW

    Home Made Kazoku

    ICONIQUE

    Koda Kumi

    melody.

    MINMI

    Namie Amuro

    STYLE FIVE

    Tommy February6

    Utada Hikaru

    Yamashita Tomohisa

So, based on those, does anyone have any recommendations?   Even God doesn't know everything...

btw, I don't really like Ayumi Hamasaki, so I guess keep that in mind.

  3. I first heard Merry when I was like, 16 or so, but I've liked them ever since.  Their sound is unique enough for me to be able to get past their vocals.  And, actually, I think his voice has grown on me.  But I don't know much about these guys at all, like I couldn't tell you their names or anything.

  4. I've honestly only heard one NB release, but I wouldn't spend money on it because I wasn't that into it.  However, personally, I'm on the whole I have no money, my girlfriend and I live with her parents and feeding myself is more of a priority than feeding a musician.  And, as such, pirating doesn't seem that bad when there are people who are the band's target audience in their actual country who probably can and will buy their stuff when they can--this goes for any band, not just NB.  There are certain times where I have extra cash and I buy a CD, but let's be real, it'd be virtually impossible for me to afford every single release I enjoy at this time.  But, threatening to sue your fans?  Kinda shitting where you eat, imo.

  5. I saw exist trace's Q&A at Sakura Con when they were there I think...was that two years ago or three? I don't remember. Someone asked them about making music in a clearly male dominated scene and how it's affected them, etc. They responded that it's really hard to get noticed as a female VK band, but they way it was said (maybe the way the translator said it) made me think maybe they do get a lot of shit from the typical VK fangirls who dig the way it is with dudes and all. They said it's hard, even emotionally at times (if I'm remembering correctly). And, like Arithmetica said, "it's the wang."

  6. I'd say 2013 has been a year of discovery and re-discovery for me.

    Chiodos

I used to love these guys when I was in high school, but I kind of just forgot about them after Craig left the band for D.R.U.G.S (and I'm not really into their music at all, so, oops). But I went to Warped Tour and they ended up being there with Craig. I honestly never thought I'd see Chiodos perform because I didn't want to see them w/o him (I didn't dig the other vocalist they had for like, one release), so that was definitely a treat.

    Yeti

They don't have any songs I don't like, which is pretty rare for me to say. Usually I'll listen to a release and end up having to skip a few songs for whatever reason. With Yeti, I can listen to their releases all the way through. I like that a lot.

    Glam Grammar

I'm a big fan of catchy songs and these guys have some catchy music.

    Neck Deep
Kind of because of Tumblr, I've been getting into some pop punk bands recently. Neck Deep is one of the ones I really dig a lot as well as...

    The Story So Far

They remind me a lot of bands I liked in high school, so it's more of a nostalgic feeling that I get from them.

    Issues

I don't have a lot to say about them aside from that their vocalist sounds like he could sing pop music really well and I dig their instrumentation a lot.

    Avengers In Sci-Fi

    More catchy music.

    Andymori

I don't know what genre they are, but damn I like it a lot. It reminds me sort of of ART-SCHOOL (who is one of my favorite bands of all time) but sorta mixed with Base Ball Bear. I kinda just found them last night, honestly.

    La Dispute

I wish I'd have discovered these guys sooner. There was a month or so where I was basically only listening to them.

    SCREW
This band, I'd heard them before but I didn't really like them a lot. Though, since last year I've been learning more about how music is made and produced. I like them a lot now.

    I'm sure there's some I'm forgetting.

  7. I guess they're all in their late 30s or early 40s now, right? Kyo kinda looks like he'd be an old hermit that lives on a mountain or small, abandoned island with his pet turtle. I don't know. Kaoru looks like he belongs in a metal band, I can't explain it but he just looks like he belongs there. Die is trying to recapture his youth or smth. idk what Toshiya's up to. Shinya doesn't age. It's part of the satanic ritual he learned from Jon Davis of Korn (who has since stopped performing said ritual).

For real, though, I'm pretty stoked they're performing in Australia, even though I don't live there or anything. I really think anyone who digs this band should get the opportunity to see them live at least once. The experience is unreal.

  8. Most people in my circle of friends except one guy have said the opposite of that. They dig P4 more, but I kind of feel like I may end up liking P3 more, too. This, of course, is coming from having only played maybe 10 minutes of an unstable, emulated ISO of P4 so I dunno. I still feel like I should give the game a chance. But I agree with you entirely, P3 is fantastic. One of the more bittersweet completions when I beat it, that's for sure. I still thought that certain parts of it were predictable, but other parts caught me off guard.

Like when Aigis is talking about having a weird feeling about the kid (I forgot his name) who ends up being Pharos/Death, I thought she was just gonna be like "lol nvm i just was feeling human emotions! i like him" or smth because this game is weird sometimes. So when the kid was like "btw, I'm Pharos!" I was like :o But when you find out the Chairman is actually an antagonist, I kinda had that feeling all along because he just kind of seemed sketch. I even got a little emotional when Mitsuru's dad died, but that's probably more so because I have a fictional character crush on her. Ha.

  9. I'm on my second play through of P3P. I played it over the summer, but I wanted to play it again to see what happens when you choose different options in the game. I don't know if anyone else has played it (probably??), but the first play through I spent a lot of time woo-ing Mitsuru. This time I'm thinking I'll woo more women than the first play through. I'm only to the

part where they realize the full moon is when they fight the "other shadows."

I want to play P4, but my PS2 needs a new reader and I can't get the game to emulate smoothly on this laptop.

Before my AC adapter for my 360 got something spilled on it, I was playing FFXIII, which I have mixed feelings about but I kind of am enjoying it overall? I'm about 1/4 through the second disc now, I think. I'm kinda bummed 'cause I just found a copy of Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas at the game trade store before my AC adapter got fried. I hope I can replace it soon, I didn't really get to play either of them a lot yet.

  10. You can try City Hunter with Lee Min Ho. The romance is secondary to the main plot line.

I've actually heard of City Hunter...well, kinda. I saw someone mention it somewhere, I'm not sure where. But I looked into it and it looks pretty interesting. I'll definitely check that out. Lee Min Ho is a great actor, too.

Oh! I actually have seen Flower Boy Next Door! The story is pretty interesting! The first few episodes are kinda weak but after that it becomes great!

How about the re-make of Great Teacher Onizuka (2012)? It's also funny how he take care of his students. :P

I'm following quite some Korean and Japanese dramas now, maybe you should try Toshi Densetsu Onna!

There are 2 seasons and the 2nd one is still on-going. It's about some woman that believes in mythes, anything that seems to be a case gets mixed in her mythes XD

Or, the math-girl who helps a detective with finding criminals? ''Hard Nut'' is the J-drama called. :)

She's talkin really dumb and weird but it's actually not bad. :D

I made it to, I think, the episode where

That girl who Enrique used to be in love with was all "let's go back to Spain!" and then the reclusive editor chick missed being able to say by to him through her window or whatever? I'm p sure that was the last one I saw.

but I was mostly just watching that show with my gf. Isn't GTO the live action version of an anime? I forgot to mention I'm Sam. I haven't finished it yet because I keep forgetting to watch it, but I really dig that show a lot. I think I only have three or four episodes left. The guy who plays the teacher is a riot.

  11. My bad. I was half asleep, that was the picture, haha. Also, maybe it's just the lighting that's making Kyo look so strange. Die's hair looks dope, though. Even if it's a repeat of an older haircut, I always kinda dug that hair.

  12. I started watching Flower Boy Next Door (Korean), but kind of gave up on it because I stopped caring. I prefer Japanese dramas in most cases, but I still really want to watch Iris. It's just, it's very long and sometimes I have attention span issues. Ha.

I still need to watch the second season of Hana Yori Dango. I just finished Proposal Daisakusen. I'm also working on Nobuta wo Produce, but I haven't watched it in ages.

What I want are non-romance type dramas. I mean, it's cool if there's a romance thing in there, but I don't want it to be the focal point of the show. Anyone have any suggestions? The only one I've actually seen like that was Kurosagi, and it was really dope. I'm not a fan of hospital shows.
