  1. I've been getting into them again pretty heavily recently.  Something I've always wondered is, are they considered "goth rock?"  I'm not very good with genres or anything, but I'm certain I can sometimes hear a The Cure or Red Lorry Yellow Lorry sort of influence in their music.  It's actually part of what attracts me to them so much, honestly.

  2. idk if this is an internal japanese POV?? my female gaijin friends got police involved, and they actually took really fast action in those few cases.

So, they treat foreigners differently, then?  I mean, duh, I feel like there would be obvious cases, but there are legal cases, too?  Assuming that it is Japanese mindest that you shouldn't shame your attacker, so they only end up with that sort of mentality when another Japanese is involved.  Does that happen?

This thread is actually pretty interesting.

  3. The good things I'm aware of have already been stated.

Some bad things no one has mentioned yet...isn't there an actual market for rape simulation video games?  Pretty, uh...pretty not good.

On sort of similar topic, I've had a friend who lives over there right now tell me they were harassed on a train by some old guy who ended up following them for a little while.  Thankfully, the guy backed off.  But I've heard it's common to be creeped on by older'ish men?  Correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't ever been there and this is all by hear-say.

  4. For me, I think having watched Dir en grey grow as a band and progress musically the way they have is just...I don't know, it gives me a sense of pride?  Perhaps because I've been with them for a while.  I'm talking, specifically, instrumentation.  Even with their genre-slips they often pull, you can hear progress in their playing ability.  Though I'm not as into them as I was when I was 16, I still look forward to their releases and lives.

  5. I think what I've learned in life is that friends are important, yes.  Even the ones that "betray" you or w/e.  I've also learned that it doesn't matter how long you know someone, sometimes people wait to show their true colors.  However, this teaches us to be thankful for the friends we have that we know for a fact will stick by our side.  Those are the people who are most important.

  6. So, I don't know how many of you actually have pets, but if you don't have your own pet, say something a family member or friend's pet does, I don't care.  What is some weird shit your pet does?

In example, my cat Chii will sleep somewhere in the house for a little while (probably a week or two), but then she changes where she was.  If, before she is ready to move, someone puts something on top of or next to where she was sleeping, she will promptly change it.  The same reaction happens if you move something away.

    Tell me about'cha pets.
