I doubt this will interest you but an anime  just started airing about a kabuki connoisseur wanting to open a kabuki theatre club in school.
I couldn't see the appeal in it because I don't  understand anything about the subject, but if you like pretty boys you might be able to fangirl  about it alongside the characters  

91 Days
Prohibition era mafioso revenge story, really dark and bloody and goes the extra mile in character development. perhaps the best thing about the show is it's a short series (12 episodes) and it has a definitive ending.
 
Ajin
Supernatural series about demi-humans. Has a lot of morality conflictions and goes into how demi-humans are treated in society. Dark and gory as fuck. Also It's CG animation so if you want something that looks a little different from the norm, that's a plus.
 
Claymore
Supernatural Fantasy with flesh eating demons called youma. Badass female protag with vengeance on the mind and a pension for bloddshed, very heavily inspired by Berserk (imo).
 
Death Note
It's hard to believe there are people who haven't heard of this show, but for the sake of new comers. Pretty much one of the most popular anime over here in the states. About a high schooler who finds a notebook called the death note, he soon finds out that any person who's name he writes down in this book will die mysteriously. With this power the protag decides to do good in the world and meat out "justice" as he see's fit, none the less there are other's with this power and a lot of mysterious surrounding the whole thing. Also there are demons, yes. Hands down one of the best psychological thriller series ever created, a must watch.
 
Gantz
Sci-fi series with a a lot of super natural elements. without spoiling too much, the main characters die but then are brought back to play in a "game" of sorts, along with other "dead" people. together they are forced to fight aliens and other sci-fi entities tot he death, if they are not victorious then they die for real. Deals heavily in psychological themes such as societal acceptance and what it truly means to want to die.
 
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Super natural horror mystery where... quite honestly shit just goes wrong over and over and over again for the main characters. Desperation and psychotic breakdowns, violence to the extreme, and psychological themes a plenty.
 
Mousou Dairinin (Paranoia Agent)
Possibly the weirdest series on this list. Goes into a lot of bizarre themes of paranoia and the the story can be a bit on the complicated side to follow if you're not paying extra close attention. Not gonna say anything about the actual plot because I feel it would lessen  the experience when you watch it.
 
Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor
Post apocalyptic mecha show with some serious shit going down. Hidden gem of the mecha genre in my opinion, very similar to Evangelion except you'll actually care when these characters die, and die they will, tons of them in fact, in horrifying and sick ways. Which is the problem, this show has A+ character development, you get so attached to characters but so many die that it hurts inside You want a dark mecha series with lots of gore and terrific plot? here you go.

it's such a shame,bcuz Ryuji's voice is so exotic and exciting ,he is very creative and not generic at all.he wasted too much time
besides whitehead ep,there's still the songs Reisen and SPADE by Zoro,and the live limited cd wiith 2 songs by the Soroban revival

Ten years ago today, Spike760 and myself decided that we wanted to start a Japanese Rock forum. After a while of debating, we eventually settled on Tainted World (after the D’espairsRay song of the same name). Frankly, neither one of expected it to last all that long; this would hardly be the first forum that we had run together that didn’t go anywhere. But what started as a fun little project somehow blossomed into an amazing community. The fact that this site still exists after all this time has little to say about Spike and my’s original plan and everything to say about the members here. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping build this site into what it is today.
 
While I was one of the key founders of this site, Monochrome Heaven is so much bigger than just me. That became clear to me when we went under the transition from Tainted World to our current name back in 2011. While to really understand why this is so important requires more context, I don’t want to go into a full on history lesson. But since that point, so many members have stepped up and dedicated themselves to this site, putting in the time and effort (and money) into making Monochrome Heaven as great as it possibly can be.
 
To every member that has joined and felt like they were apart of a community over this silly niche interest we all have, I raise a glass to you. You all are what have made this place special. And to every staff member, current and past, no words can express my thanks to you - you are people that I have come to admire and consider good friends.
 
But this post isn’t about me, but about the Monochrome Heaven! I want to hear from all of you as to why this community is special, why you’ve becoming coming back for 10 months or 10 years. Or tell us one of your favorite moments from your time coming, whether that was a release you were looking for forever or a stupid meme that took over the forum.

Hi there everyone. Can you remember that creepy track -that usually is included in their CD releases- a vk band use when they're about to start the raibu or to perform their heavy/disturbed emotional stuff? These tracks're also played at the middle of the (more) dramatic performance or put at the end. I have a really bad memory so I can only remember SEs from Grieva or Nega (they did have a lot w)...

I would post the samples of this kind of tracks but I can't do it atm (will do it later)... but I'm pretty sure u know what I'm talking about. Very often called SE (Sound Effects?) but I would also (mistakenly) call it OST? This track may not necessarily have the "SE" on its title too.

In Japan it is common practice for bands to hold what's called a instore event, where fans of the band can attend a local music store, ask the band members questions and then watch the bands play a event or put on some sort of show.
 
We at V STAR PROMOTION want to create a similar experience for international visual kei fans.
 
So from now we will run trial programs of our Instore Live Streams!

+1 to all the SE's from DIM, I was goddamn hypnotized by them and anticipated their place on the tracklist forever!
 
I played IIII-Ligro-'s Distress SE from Ideological Suicide the other day, with the most noise cancelling headphones. Opens with a lazy piano bit that could be recorded in your friends' garage.. but then the ghostly synth swimming out to fill the room and suddenly, a deep bass *crrreeeak* giving the sensation of something huge and unseen spurred into motion just behind you. Feels like you're standing on the bottom of the ocean in utter stillness and then a great curtain of darkness that you assumed to be the fathomless abyss just.. MOVES. like something immense and inconceivable lurking in the threshold.
 
A lot of SE's have similar invocations for me (GazettE used a similar creaking effect a few times) but this one is fresh in my head!

this is one of my all time favorites. (the scream is actually from the movie Phenomema directed by Dario Argento.)

Gotta admit I didn't see this coming and I'm really glad Tapi-chan is doing what he want, like Ryuuji and his art/electro(?) music project with this other japanese guy.
 
Can't wait for their PV♥ I'm kinda surprised of this new look of Tapi, like I knew he was updating his last profile pictures wearing such looks (not girly at all...) but at least he's in a girl band? he'll still be a woman to all us though I missed his bass skills.

Since the formation of this band, I produced over half the band’s musical compositions in a fair number of songs.
 
But personally, in the songs I wrote, I was unable to break away from the shell of “myself.”
 
That’s why I always preferred the songs of the other members, which were created “outside my shell.”
 
I don’t really understand music theory. I know almost nothing about chords and scales.
 
The songs I made myself were simply melodies “singing” inside me that I threw into a computer and rearranged.
 
Up to this very moment, the sounds I began to hear, complexly intertwined, weave into a new “sound.”
 
This is the first time in my musical career that I was able to make a song that broke me out of my own “shell.”
 
At that moment, that roughly 10 minute track came forth from the person I`ve been until now, in a song more beautiful that any other, a song uglier than any other.
 
“OUSIA.”
 
That song sought the “true nature” of people and the world.
 
I`ve done many things that I would call “evil” until now.
 
Not in issues of legality, I don`t mean that level; but morally, ethically, indirectly, we hurt others in many ways, living while struggling with each other.
 
The worth of “right and wrong” take form in the flow of the era, in the end leaving us clueless to what`s “true.”
 
If “the acts of hurting one another” are equally evil, then in the world there would be no “justice.”
 
World Wars, family quarrels, aren`t the roots of these the same?
 
The boundaries of right and wrong vary from person to person, and these boundaries change depending on the time.
 
People are painted as black or white, but in this world there`s no such things as purely “white” or completely “black,” is there?
 
This world is inconsistent.
 
In this “inconsistency,” could there be such a thing as the “true nature” of people? Of the world?
 
In this album, various “contradictions” overflow.
 
It’s true of the artists photos, of the music video.
 
When facing the aspect of “inconsistency,” “sex” was the one thing that stood out.
 
Essentially, sex is should be done for “love,” for leaving descendants, for instinct… .
 
However, humans can still have sex without love, or use contraception. I think the biggest contradiction imposed on sex is the world portrayed in “RUVISH.”
 
Whether you turn on the TV or go online, the modern age is overrun with sad news from all over the world.
 
Even in this seemingly peaceful country of Japan, if you really look at others, you’ll find them overwhelmed by the things muddled up inside them.
 
For example, “bullying” will probably be more cruel than the saddest world news in the eyes of a young boy who has been the victim of such an act.
 
When people are alive, they are touched by many things, embraced by many emotions.
 
Within that, the feeling of “losing” that makes you want to avert your eyes is a starting point for your self expression, a nucleus.
 
To “live” I must be aware of “death,” for the sake of a faint “hope,” I sing of “despair.”
 
If this song of “contradiction” of mine can help someone, then perhaps I can start to find the value of this existence I refer to as “myself.”
 
“OUSIA-dispersed-” is going to be handed out for free, and by doing so I hope it will build anticipation for the album “OUSIA,” set to be released this spring.
 
Within The Black Swan, “OUSIA” has yet to be completed.
 
Rather, I want the “true nature” of the completed edition to be upheld as you listen to this ”OUSIA-dispersed-．”

Pentagon (strangely referred to as Pentagon Japan in the video and site), has announced today that they will be joining the guest lineup for A-KON 28, which will take place June 8th through the 11th at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, TX.
