Definitely want this for Railtracer and Dear L'novel. Hopefully the price won't be too ridiculous.

NEW QUESTION Does anyone know if/when CDjapan would send out their usual winter/christmas season coupon deal? The 500 yen one, usually. I'm really hoping it's soon. I want to place an order, but I almost had a heart attack when I saw the final price. The US dollar is utter shit right now! Need all the deals I can get!

Interesting guys. I like hearing your opinions. Keep em coming. Also, post some example links, if you want. Particularly Senedjem. Sounds intriguing.

This has something that I've thought about for a while now. I'll use Versailles as an example. They're one of my favorite Japanese bands, but they frequently get this bad rap for "having no emotion" in their music or even in Kamijo's vocals. The whole symphonic power metal thing isn't my favorite genre, but for some reason, Versailles' stuff just "clicks" with me. A lot of the riffs/solos give me chills. Many of their songs just "move" me. (Not to tears though, haha) So what is emotion in music? It seems like for the people who knock Versailles for this supposed lack of emotion, they see a sort of inverse relationship between technical skill and emotion. (AKA, more technical skill = less emotion) But I don't think they're so mutually exclusive. For me, Versailles is a good example of technicality AND emotion. I can be in awe of their skill, but also love the music. For instance, technical death metal doesn't do much for me. Yeah, it's interesting to hear and it makes you go "wow, they can play that?" But at the end of the day, I don't really care about this type of music. At the same time, I don't give care if you're on the ground, writhing with your guitar, playing some sloppy riff that is oh so emotional. How about vocals? Returning to the Versailles example, I'd say Kamijo has increased his technical vocal talent since Lareine, quite a bit. If you watch the lives, he's quite into it. He sings at the top of lungs. He's not just standing in front of the mic boredly. But time and time again, some say he supposedly has no emotion. Let's look at Malice Mizer now. Quite a few people say Tetsu (the short-lived first vocalist) was the best, because of his strong emotion. I personally find him almost unlistenable. I don't think you could convince me otherwise. I like 'lafflesia' from him and that's it. For me, his "strong emotion" just equals wailing into the mic. But I understand his style is liked/preferred by a lot of people, over the two more technically skilled vocalists of MM. So basically... What does emotion in music and vocals mean to you? To what extent do you find this emotion to be subjective? Let's have an intelligent discussion. What do you guys think? I swear, if you guys kill this thread with 4chanisms and gifs, I'll choke a bitch. (Btw, this is totally open to all bands/music. Versailles was just my example)

Hello, Long, tedious story made slightly shorter. I wanted to buy this song which was only available for download from syncl (http://www.syncl.jp/). I used Mukunoki since I assume it wasn't possible for me to buy it otherwise. Everything went fine and he sent me a link to download the song. I downloaded the song, BUT whenever I try to play it, it asks for a license basically. From what I gather, I don't think I'll be able to play the song on my computer. I suppose only Mukunoki could play it on his own computer, which doesn't help me much! SO Are there any ways around this license? Or anyway to solve this situation in general? Please help me out, kind folks of TW!

Steady sounds a'ight. The video seemed fairly standard at first, kinda boring if anything, but then Yusa is all of a sudden sitting in Santa-bear's lap??? Unless this is part of some narrative in the lyrics, who the fuck is coming up with their videos lately? Smile - Let's make the most frolicking, sickeningly sweet PV since sliced nyappy bread Calling - Just playing in a room, with flying plane! Now it's fun! Steady - We're European guys! And santa-bear! Anyway, I just like joking on them. I like it better than smile/calling and that's what counts.

spike, all your posts lately make me depressed, gah! The world can be so fucked up

Could be the chitose from tarrot?? Hope so. He was a talented guitarist.

PIECE's バード single is now sold.

Really looking forward to the new songs. Sounds like their recording quality is getting better and better! Thank god, they deserve to be heard in ultra quality!!!

For me, the song wasn't horrible. Yeah, the "SMAIR SMAIR SMAIR" part was filthycrap but overall, I found the song to be passable. (Still never actually downloaded the single though, haha). On the other hand, the PV was about 96 times worse. Yusa's goddamn frolicking around. Too much. As you said Maiku, I felt embarrassed. And wanted to slap the shit out of him. Need more panorama (love this cheesy song!), noah, little senobi stuff!

Totally agree about Shuu. I didn't think he was that great when they started (certainly not bad), but with the most recent releases he realllllly improved. In fact the only thing lacking with Heartless' vocals were the harsh vocals. Kinda sucky, but I'm not even sure that was Shuu. It was a guitarist in the live versions, at least.

Ooo, thank you for the info. Definitely adding that to my list of stuff to get for December. And finally some new pictures of them! They look quite different

New CD's added from Railtracer, The Candy Spooky Theater and Heartless. Please have a look!

I really liked Tarrot and Heartless. As far as the realllllly 'indies' bands that disbanded too fast, Faralis. Awesome kote-ish neoclassical "metal"!! woo!

I don't know actually. I don't think Canzel was ever really on a label, though. Maybe they guys are just friends or something? Btw, I watched the felony PV, since you guys had mentioned it. Thought it was pretty good. Have any recommendations on what release would be good to start with?
-
I've hardly ever listened to Born aside from one of their first singles (the name escapes my brain right now, though) Anyway, have you guys heard this canzel track? Ryoga (circa 2008) is featured in a few parts, for harsh vocals.

Hmmm Remember how Jasmine You had to pause from band activities due to his poor physical condition, about a week or so, before he finally passed away? I wonder how that fits into this rumor.
-
Yeah, i was actually thinking about those multi-category type news situations after I posted this... But yeah, just a thought. (And haha, I was thinking of Trombe as well, since he is like the number 1 news poster. Maybe he has some input.)

That should be the last.fm default

I'm nooby about what does/doesn't work on forums so forgive me if this doesn't seem like a good idea. Would sub-forums in the "News" section be a good idea, just to get it organized a bit more? Example sub-forums: -"idk what the title of this section would be" (new bands, disbandments, hiatuses, members changing/leaving, etc) -New release info -Performances (session bands, revivals, etc) I don't know if there's any other important potential sub-forums I missed, though. And like I said, maybe it's a sucky idea and there's a reason something like this doesn't already exist. But what do you guys think?

I realllly want 球形無限連鎖~ミズタマ~ to be on there.
