Se9pCeAMRho Hizaki from Versailles fell down at a London show. Still managed to play the solo, though. What a trooper

I must say, I've got to hand it to Matenrou Opera for not making their second "full album" out of this. Just imagine, take these mini-album tracks, add a cheap keyboard intro called "~into the abyss~", and do "abyssal ver." rerecordings of Genesis, R, Murder Scope, and an older track and you've got yourself an "album"! On to less sarcastic things though. I've only given it one listen, but THIS is much more the matenrou opera that I want to listen to, as opposed to everything else after Anomie, which I didn't care for at all. Overall, the tracks sound pretty good to me. A pleasant heaviness to many of them. I thought I would hate frill from the "groovy" description people were giving it, but I think they made it work pretty well! There's a lot more piano this time around, isn't there? Ayame really is the band's weakest link for me, as his cheesy keyboard stuff pisses me off a lot of the time (like in FUTARI), but the piano sounds are generally much better. I suppose, the one major complaint I have is that I still keep hearing familiar vocal melodies from Sono. I think it was mainly in the PV song, but there's a few parts that remind me of Alkaloid Showcase/瑠璃色で描く虹 melodies. (Didn't murder scope have parts that also sounded like those?) And he occasionally sounds to "squeaky" for me, but that's just personal preference. He's obviously very talented, technically speaking. At the very least, a 7/10. Will probably go up.

The Kiddie: The more songs they release, they more I realize I don't care about them really anymore. Steady was nice off the new album, but nothing else really caught my attention. Matenrou Opera: I really liked that first single. The piano ballad was great, but ever since this Ayame keyboardist came on, they sound really cheap. Just get a second guitarist. And Sono's vocals too. With songs like R and Murder Scope, his vocals became almost unbearable to me. Crossing my fingers that this mini album will be better. Overall, though, this band is highly hit-and-miss for me now, unfortunately. Lycaon: Everything until Chains of collar was nice, imo. Didn't really care for any of the album's few new tracks, outside of plug into the socket. I used to think Yuuki was a nice vocalist in this tired style of heavy vk, but now it's just awful to me. And then of course, the infamous Eros and pink drugs my shit... I'm done.

This is indeed where Dir en Grey took their name, right?

I think all of the "syncl" websites (like Matenrou Opera) have that basic look. The ultimate shitty website for me is Rubik's OHP: http://www.rubik-web.com/top.html As far as I can tell, there's not even a discography section and that has always pissed me off, haha.

LOL! Chianti, I immediately thought of the old Looney Tunes cartoons too. They have to put road runner on the cover!

Perhaps I'm reading into the tracklist too much, but track 7 星屑と月と灰色の街 seems to be the only old track without "re:vox," right? Usually these vk tracklists are so deliberate... So does that mean, they'll be including a version by one of the previous vocalists?

Anyone like Taku Iwasaki? I hardly watch anime anymore but I loved the soundtracks to Read or Die so much that I bought them /nerd. There's some fun "spy" jazz type stuff on there. FunmGQGKnm0 4HljvlIrpQ4

I'm not sure about the survey coupons that arithmetica is talking about... (I'm intrigued though) But for the winter coupon, just go here: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/coupon.html If your account never got credited with a coupon, you should just be able to type in your email address again and get sent a coupon. I hope that works for you.

Didn't e'm grief have a reggaeton part to one of their songs?

Found the tracklist on Visunavi: 1. 今宵Swing 2. 廻るゴーランド 3. 眠ル兎 4. Bred room Not sure if this is necessarily right, but they're calling it a mini-album. (" MINI ALUBUM/4曲入り ") Hopefully 4 full tracks? No lame "SE" fillers would be cool.

Shame Scream of Heartless isn't on there, but I can live without Dies for Myself. Good enough setlist.

Thanks for the links Cat5. Saigenji is a'ight, Immigrant's and Dois Mapas are really good, but Naomi & Goro is like perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Same with Chianti's recommendation. Lisa Ono is also perfect, haha. Looking forward to listening to them.

Lol, I was waiting for Maiku. His vivid code is a goddamn science!

Oooh, hoping you guys can list some good bossa nova stuff. I love me some brazilian bossa, but I didn't even know there was any Japanese stuff. Have you heard the masterpiece EROS by lycaon? That is pure jazz! Hahaha

I took spanish in high school. Now at the university, I'm in advanced German and intermediate level Japanese. Japanese is really fun, but as people have said, kanji is a bitch. I'm at about 250 kanji so far... German is great, though. I had a like a 20 minute conversation with my teacher fully in German a few weeks ago. It was a milestone for me, haha. I'm always afraid to mess up when I speak it, but I did pretty well that day! Anyway, I loooove learning foreign languages. Hopefully I can learn more Tagalog one day, too. I always feel like fail when I can't speak it to my relatives. Would love to learn Norwegian or Arabic as well. Basically, I wish I didn't have to get a job. I want to just learn languages all the time, haha.

I've never really listened to the other ayabie because what I heard was just "meh" for me. That, and I found Aoi's vocals to be not very good, despite a lot of other people loving him. From the snippets and the PV song I've heard from this album, I could possibly get into this version of ayabie. I actually kinda like Yume's vocals. I'm definitely gettting a ZORO vibe from some of the stuff I've heard so far.

Love these chaps. Looking forward to this

No VK band is safe from disbandment. One of these days, Versailles will suddenly disband and I'll be officially done with this scene's fragility bullshit.

Interesting... I've actually never experienced any customs shenanigans so far. We'll see next week though, as I have a fairly big order coming in. *btw, the 500yen off coupon for CDJapan I inquired about is available if anyone else was wondering*

Love it, but it doesn't snow here often enough. A big snow every 2-3 years... But when it does, the school systems (and universities) freak out and always cancel school.
-
I'm telling you, if you have a biggish order, that Fed Ex option starts getting cheaper than EMS and even the registered Airmail in some cases! Plus, it's soooo much faster.

Oh... "distributed" to stores?? I wonder how that works. And yeah, peace h mk 2, they are lareine's offspring, in the best way. Check em out!
