I can't give any further details on this particular event (and I find it weird that the Anime USA website doesn't even have any mention of Schwarz Stein yet), BUT I can speak from my previous experiences with Anime USA to see Versailles and Kaya way back in the day. Don't quote me on this, but I thiiiiink Versailles' meet and greet was Friday evening and the concert took place Saturday. Indeed, a general ticket should get you into the concert, as that just counts as part of the "programming" for the convention. I remember seeing pics for the meet and greet and it seemed like a fair amount of people, so maybe a normal ticket can still get you in there, but you just don't have guaranteed seating; I'm really not sure. For Kaya the next year, I didn't care about the convention, so I just drove up there with a friend to see the concert and we left right afterwards. So you can certainly just make it just a one day thing, once the actual date of the concert itself is confirmed. EDIT: oops, I meant "Q&A session" when I said "meet and greet" on Friday. There was a quick meet and greet and autograph session (for all attendees) after the concert!

I've listened to it a few times, but so far, I'm not enjoying it as much as the first mini. In my opinion, they lost that perfect balance of catchiness and "mathiness" and nothing comes close to Pyramid or 8films in terms of memorability. Hopefully it will grow on me though!

吉澤嘉代子 (Kayoko Yoshizawa) has just announced her second major mini-album, to be released on October 22, 2014. It is called "幻倶楽部" (pronounced "maboroshi kurabu") and will retail for 1,667 yen. This release comes just after her major debut mini-album "変身少女," released in May 2014. 9 songs is hardly a "full album," but I'll probably pick up type B. Hopefully someone can grab type A so we can hear the new version of Road of the Dream. It looks like Scarlet Valse has effectively rerecorded all RailTracer songs at this point EXCEPT for La Neige.

^Yeah, I mean we've only heard samples so far, but I think this release might prove to be better than anything Rubik did. I've always really enjoyed Rubik, but in general, their songs were a bit one-dimensional. Based on these samples, it sounds like the band has definitely improved their musicality. And Shion, though lacking some polish, also seems to put more "oomph" into his singing than Kei ever did. I have to try to pre-order this!

Any fans of Scott Bradlee & Postmodern Jukebox here? They've become somewhat of a YouTube sensation in the past year, doing classy jazz/swing/big band/doo-wop-style covers of (awful) modern pop songs from artists like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Beyonce, etc. The man behind all the arrangements is pianist Scott Bradlee. The main vocalist of the group is Robyn Adele Anderson, but Cristina Gatti and Ashley Stroud (and some other guests) have also sung on a few tracks. As far as I know, most of their videos are filmed in Bradlee's house in a "live" manner. ANYWAY, I'm a fairly new fan, having seen their cover of "Timber" (by Ke$ha and Pitbull) just a few months ago and immediately being in love with their amazing version of a terrible song. With only a few exceptions, it seems like the more I loathe the original version, the more I love Postmodern Jukebox's covers, haha. The group is forever in my heart now, after seeing them live in Cologne, Germany. Scott Bradlee was joined by the three vocalists, plus MC (and occasional singer) Drue Davis, a drummer, a upright bassist, a trombonist, and a saxophone/clarinet player. They played about 18 songs, mostly selections from their two 2014 albums "Clubbin' with Grandpa" and "Twist is the New Twerk", but also a Mowtown Nickelback cover and Amy Winehouse's "Valerie." After the show, my friend and I got to meet the group, get a photo with Scott and Robyn, and they signed our CDs! They are such a tight, talented group of musicians and it was truly a pleasure to get to see them in such an intimate venue (I was in the second row). It seems like they're gaining more and more popularity, so I hope they can up the production of their songs/videos and do a nice tour in the US sometime(hopefully, in the city I'll be moving to soon). Their concept and style is spot-on and the perfect way for me to tolerate mainstream pop. They have an unbelievable number of good covers so far, so I'm interested to hear how they keep growing!
