  1. "their song", as in the 3 bands are doing a collaboration like "Family Party" or something?
  2. fitear1590

I wasn't sure if you only meant live (in which case, I'm not 100% sure), but Yeti's vocalist (ex-Aicle) plays guitar, which you can see in their PVs

There must be a duplicate thread, because I know these have been posted before. Anyway, my "fave" worst CD covers: Dear L'Novel - 罪と罰(Tsumi to Batsu) ViViD - Message Dear L'Novel's is one of the few albums that I truly enjoy but refuse to buy, because the album art would haunt me. And yet, the ViViD one is somehow worse, because they were actually a major band. Can you imagine who designed these covers and thought "Yup, these are good to go!"

I'm kind of feeling a combination of these two comments. For the "EDR" style that SECRET and Ikenai KISS are: Ikenai KISS >>> SECRET (although maybe that's just because the sampling in SECRET annoyed the shit out of me?) But I did not enjoy the b-sides of Ikenai KISS. Particularly in metronome, I couldn't believe how cheap the synth sound was, since DIV has become one of the better VK bands when it comes to their electronic arrangements.
  5. Nice, thanks for the update, Trombe! I guess disc 2 will feature rerecordings?
  6. fitear1590

emmny, I'm still making it through your awesome list, but I have to say nüe has caught my attention the most, so thanks for posting about them! The totally went under my radar. But I have to know, who exactly is who in the Starwave lineup, lol: I have an idea, but which is the "power metal travesty"?!
  7. Busted my ass on my first day of school coming down the stairs (thanks, snow!), but I'm actually really looking forward to this semester! Wishing all the students a good new semester!

I totally missed thread. As someone severely in need of some jumping-off points in the scene, I'm glad to know it exists now! Since @blackdoll mentioned HYUKOH (혁오) above, I'll post about them again, with one of their own songs: I learned about them via @greeeeen and knowing so little about Korean indie, it surprised me that this style of jangly guitar pop was a thing there! Love it!

Nice list, bruh! I'm so happy to see you co-signing Alina Baraz! Her album was such a pleasure to listen to this year. While Braids and Cybele no Nichiyobi didn't feature on my short lists, I'm glad to see them as well! I had never thought of Braids's sound as being an equivalent of haisuinonasa... Not sure I agree yet, but it's an interesting and surely provocative comparison! I know you've been pushing Siamese Cats for a while now and especially since you said this is your favorite release of theirs, it seems like a good time to officially try out their indie pop goodness! Dråpe also sounds totally up my alley!
  11. fitear1590

Of those two albums, I'd say: The Internet's Ego Death > Lianne La Havas's Blood "Unstoppable" was definitely the song that had me most excited going into her album, but "Green & Gold" has also stuck with me. Her vocals are so warm and beautiful, but I didn't find myself as interested in the music on other parts of the album. Maybe it'll continue to grow on me more. With The Internet's album, on the other hand, I love the whole thing. Their style is so effortlessly cool and I enjoyed this one as much, if not slightly more than 2013's Feel Good. Thanks for checking out my list, d00d!
  12. fitear1590

Short and sweet list, @seurong! Obviously glad to see you spreading the PELICAN FANCLUB love, especially by sharing a less-highlighted sample track! That and "Police City" are underrated, but oh so good! Also glad to see Ame no Parade. The opening track is so lovely! Clearly, I need to check out Koochewsen. I remember @doombox covering that in BNT earlier in the year, but it slipped my mind to check out their full EP--thanks for the recommendation!
  13. fitear1590

Yay, glad I was able to help! Here's one of my favorites from Admistrator: 手招く太陽 And you get one of these for being a fellow PELICAN FANCLUB/Nemesis fan! Hope you enjoy it! Touché, haha! An obvious shortcoming of my list. He better get to work and make 2016 a productive year. He's due for a new DIMMDIVISION. release! Where is your list though??
  14. fitear1590

Nice GIF usage! You're at least the second person to mention THE LOTUS's Providence of Bionic, so I need to check that one out. I remember liking Providence of Jesus!
  15. fitear1590

YASSS, @Mi'ihen-core! GRIMOIRE is one of my favorite VK surprises this year. Glad to see a fellow fan! I agree about DIV's single; awful PV, but pretty great song! Not sure about the b-sides though... Shounenki is also growing on me! Can't deny Kou's vocals! I wanted to like Anfiel's album a lot more, because I loved their first single, but for some reason I can't get into their arrangements. They sound a bit too midi or something. Although, I recall the closing track being really nice! I don't know how you can say you're ass at writing when "Sing me to sleep and trap me in a fucking birdcage out of my dreams" is more accurate (and hilarious) than anything I ever wrote about them, haha. I swear, My Fairytale better return from their hiatus... Great list, bruh!
  16. fitear1590

Thanks for kicking off the 2015 year-end list review-mania, @yakihiko! Moran is my fave from your list! So sad to see them go... You have a LOT of My Bacteria Heat Island on your favorite song list, so I'll need to look more into them.

  18. Fitear1590's Five Top 5s of 2015 Welcome to my year-end list! I'll be the first to admit that 2015 wasn't my favorite year in music. Sure, there were great releases or songs here and there, but overall, the year left a bad taste in my mouth with crushing disbandments/hiatuses (Moran, yazzmad, My Fairytale, etc.) and underwhelming releases from so many of my faves: DIV's Secret, NEGOTO's Vision, Kayoko Yoshizawa's Himitsu Kouen, Odotte Bakari no Kuni's Songs, Scenarioart's Happy Umbrella, DOPPEL's Röntgen, etc. With this in mind, I revamped the structure of my list and came up with five Top 5s: Japanese Artists, International Artists, PVs, Singles, and Surprises. In order to ensure the most breadth and variety, I made sure that there were no repeats throughout the five lists. Even if 2015 didn't seem that great when I started compiling this, I'm happy with the results and proud to share this with you. Hopefully, you find a few things worth checking out! Have a listen and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments! Top 5 Japanese Artists Chanty The fin. THE NOVEMBERS ユナイト (UNiTE.) Top 5 International Artists Alina Baraz & Galimatias Autotelic Beach House Grimes

I had no idea Administrator's vocalist was in this band. Guess I really should give them a proper listen now.

Yay, saishuu! I can definitely see you enjoying them! They have a lot of indie crossover appeal (maybe, comparable with Yeti).

Judging from the sample video I listened to earlier, I definitely will! Liking the vocalist beforehand will make it easier too. I'll make sure to get their stuff asap.

Nice! Thanks for the Tempalay update, @seurong. I'll definitely need to check out their album. I'm pretty sure they are officially utilizing the love I have leftover from disappointment with 踊ってばかりの国's (odotte bakari no kuni) last two albums. Here's some nice 2014 gems that I don't believe have been posted yet. Ykiki Beat Just a grand indie pop anthem and interestingly enough, the singer almost has a Scottish accent! フレデリック (Frederic) I know @violetchain has posted about them a little, but here's their best video. So fun!
  21. fitear1590

The most mysterious kusomen to me is Rubik's vocalist Kei, who was released from the band in 2013 for "inhumane acts". Did we ever find out what that actually meant?
  22. fitear1590

I recall receiving an e-mail about 2 or 3 months back and the band gave a brief update (basically, the album is obviously delayed, but they're still working hard). Unfortunately, I can't find that e-mail anymore!
  23. Even if their most recent singles haven't been very strong, this is unfortunate news. Still, glad to see them go out with such an appropriately RPG-tastic disbanding.
  24. Hitomi and Velo back together again?! New official band plz!
