I feel like starwave is like the new undercode at this point. Good for them though they sound really good from what I could hear. Still haven't found that mini album anywhere online though.

I actually love grillz in vkei.

I think the main problem for these old school revival bands to me are the vocals. both La'veil Mizeria and Grieva have average vocals imo. Kyouki had a decent scream but he seemed to have a limited singing range. Though I guess the same could be said for bands like Madeth Gray'll and their vocalist hisui.

Did he ever release that one? I remember hearing another version of "The other side of the moon" on a comment video of his but then the album version sounded different and not as good.

Finally got through the prologue of Nier Automata and got the first ending of the game. Really solid Soundtrack, Atmosphere, and Gameplay I liked it. Now to decide between either Persona 5, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX (I've never played a kingdom hearts game) or one of the tales of games. I've come to really love Action Jrpg's.

Was going to post this in this thread but didn't want to ruin the vibe. None of these new bands have any staying power to me. I'll listen to it maybe once or twice but I wouldn't add it to my library or anything for future listening. I might sound like a negative nancy but I just don't think I can listen to these new bands until a major shift happens in the scene. Maybe the 2020s will bring forward some fresh new wave of bands that fill that void for me but as things stand I just don't think I can enjoy visual kei music. See I wouldn't even say that I'm over vkei per se because I still check this forum every few days in hopes of finding something new. It's just that the current state of the scene has left something to be desired for me. I had a feeling this would happen as soon as undercode went under but still help hope. Now? I can count the amount of active bands I listen to on one hand. I'm very curious what the general consensus is around here. Maybe many of you couldn't be happier with visual kei in 2017. Perhaps I'm just out of touch. Or maybe I should just let bygones be bygones and open up to other types of music outside of visual kei. Though I wouldn't know where to start. These days I find myself listening to more video game OST's than any band music. I don't even know where to begin as far as western metal and rock goes if I'm honest. Anyone in a similar position? I just don't know what to listen to anymore. Do I even like music? lol

I don't understand why they can't just continue. Or why they couldn't have expanded on the sound with their newer projects. G.L.A.M.S is awful and Black Line wasn't much better. Mikaru had one of the best growls I've ever heard in vkei and It's a shame that he changed the way he did. I feel like they had something really special. I'd love to see what a modern DIO MV would look like in glorious 1080p. The scene is really missing a band like them right now.
