i used to feel exactly like this too. and still i think they shouldn't be ashamed of their past. i think lately they changed opinion though and are not so hardcore about it. i loved their past songs but at some point i loved their new songs too.(and looks) i don't know how. just my taste in music changes in time since i was little. as a person who likes old and new vkei i am really confused. i have to say. because as much as i miss older songs. and sometimes i miss them very much. i love the new ones too and i don't want them to return back. at all. this would be terrible. i am just very intrigued to see what would they do next . so my only Criticism at this moment would be for them to do whatever they feel like. maybe use his singing voice more than growls because it's awesome

when you want to impress someone you usually like him and would want to be his friend. or am i wrong? actually you talked about me personally. but i was talking generally about the friends thing. not to you particularly. and actually i think we agree on this. that people who don't like the same things .don't need to be friends. to be honest my first post was triggered by the deg thing again.that was mentioned before me. and that was my rant about (and my argument in the first place)

here is my opinion about this that is way more unpopular.not sure if i should write this. maybe you should discover it by yourself lol. when you grow up lol. o h god i feel like a mom and so old when saying this you can't really understand change until it happens to you. ok maybe for me it was sooner for personal reasons but this is what happens when you grow up. as shocking as it sounds. you change your mind about things sometimes and you see things differently. i like to see change and maturity in others. i think is actually attractive & interesting.i think people who STay the same forever as they were at 19 are actually sad or pathetic or very boring .they can't realise time and they can't reconcile with their age. ok sure you can be very nostalgic and sad about older times. but that's the thing about time. it changes even if you don't want to. i am having so much fun and prefer what happend to deg/they look so much cooller than what happened to luna sea for example.or hyde or gackt i remember when i was 19 or something.i went after the guys with the most piercings and i wanted so badly to be strange.to have piercings and weird hair.and whoever said i would ever change made me so angry. this would be for life i thought.it would be a betrayal of values if i changed .and now i don't give a shit about it. . but i understand at some age i think you should actually do it. it's Necessary .( i think most vkei fans are teenagers and just stupidly run behind any guy just because he has many piercings and tattoos) i still am superficial as fuck but in a different way.different things matter now. and i love visual kei aesthetics .duh i love visual kei so much. they are so very attractive but not as a serious life style would be so funny.do you really want to see deg exactly as they used to be old school again it would be so ridiculously wtf funny also kyo looks hotter as a guy.

i agree with the above! also just for the sake of conversation. don't take this too seriously. to be honest i always felt a little weird when deg says they are not really hanging out together & it's more about work . but having lost friends myself i understand maybe this is the only way to protect the band. also it sounds scary. because everyone wants to imagine bands as friends who are having fun more than business. but i guess at this professional level things are different. deg do tend to have this impression of being too serious though why. and i always felt they have a more artistic type/profile/attitude than what most metal bands usually have. ( i mean for example i swear sometimes kyo seems more like a poet/artist than just a famous singer/ i can not explain this better). i like this and i couldn't imagine them different but makes you worry sometimes if they are ok. also i think it's adorable that they have still a "girly" member. it doesn't look bad at all. i mean i am happy how the others turned to be. but i like that one is different lol. maybe he feels he can't express himself as much as the others though

i was thinking about this too many times. not only the music industry. art in general edit: and actually maybe that's one of the reasons i turned to japan. there are things you can't find in America or Europe in art or music . for example there is no vkei here in the first place

but i didn't mean it as critic of music . more like an attitude or way of thinking . do not be conventional . you don't have to follow the mass. be yourself. following trends is for pop music. isn't this like rock mentality? edit: i still can go with your answer though. i mean it answers this too.

ugh i don't know either what is it with trends . i don't get it. because i thought in rock the mentality was: do not follow trends . be unique or different. anyway maybe the problem is not the copying or influence or whatever.maybe the problem is that their music sucks so bad. if they had good music they could evolve . if they had so good music maybe it wouldn't matter.

i agree there is a huge difference between influence and copying and i think people don't understand the difference sometimes about influence i was fucking 15 when we learn at schooll famous quote: "Our words are the children of many people" (that means if it's not obvious: art.philosophy or poetry is not borned from nothing, is not borned from void but is a continuous and uninterrupted communication with the words of past) also (i think copying is stupid but) i am sure even if you are copying but you still have good music people are going to listen to you than if you had bad music and copying

xDD ok i have to confess to be honest i never listen to him now and i find his new songs terrible.soooo terrible. but i liked him at the beggining. he was the very first artist i listened from vkei and i remember i used to like him so much back then. he was my fav. that was way before selfish love though. i remember people were saying since then they didn't like his voice. but i was finding it cool. i actually liked it i never ever listen to him now. but i still think he was cool back then xD edit: i have to agree about the new songs though i found them awful. well unimportant at least

i love that daisuke was jumping in the crowd. i think he was awesome live. i love watching him in lives edit: also i agree people should probably watch mucc too. some stuff i have seen are really cool . but i need to watch more myself .

sorry i am so out of subject and this is not a must watch .but i am trying to think of moments from new bands. to be possitive. since you mentioned mejibray i don't think the tone matters always lol. to confess something irrelevant. this is not a must watch. but damn i have this memory where i used to like so much this video VanessA - feel U (TOKYO VISUAL COLLECTION) thAt he is obviously out of tone in chorus. and now he is sooo much better and he got so improved from vanessa .i am actually amazed how? but i still like that old what the fuck video. i have it as nostalgic memory more than any new one lol also i remember the live where leda(deluhi) was crying i also liked ryoga headbanging .was a lot fun to watch .but then he turned all ridiculous to me. and i stopped watching him but ok i wouldn't recommend these as must watch

yeah i wanted to say something similar too. there is no new band/newer live dvds that can compare to feelings i had with the older ones in live dvd. can you give me an example from new? but then i thought "oh god i am gonna start the same subject and drama again".and didn't write it. but you had to mention it and i can't help it. man i don't know maybe i just got older and i just don't get it. while i am still fan and love some new bands but they don't have the same impact for some reason on me. ooooh lynch too . i don't remember which exactly now. i have to look up and i am bored .but i used to love watching some of their lives i remember gara gets more crazy though.feels like he was well-known for that

i agree i like too 13th.... and BT's Climax Together is classic i didn't wanted to write here because i think people already know what i have to tell. i think people who are being visual kei fans for a long time should have definitely watch a deg live. choose an era. a little older ones . or even older like Blitz 5 Days or osaka Jo hall are classic. like who haven't seen them. and i have to admit when i was new to vk i was so amazed and stuck to deg because of the lives. i never really saw their pvs then also personally i really like merry live. gara being crazy and all ♥ also dude that video with malice mizer above watching it feels nostalgic

it's different to be a punk band from having punk elements. also i am kinda sure @seb haven't listen to much punk rock bands from his descriptions. screams doesn't always mean punk punk it's it's not about skills. is more about having fun and being rebellious. ok to be honest it's been years since i listen to punk and sometimes i think how the fuck did i listen to some bands.but some people are missing the point though.punk is not only about music. it has a whole ideology behind it that is asking you to be rebellious, disobedient, to not sell out, to keep your values, free thought etc . and it's sad times when people feel we don't need this anymore and they are ignorant enough to not know why it existed. (so what @Disposable said pretty much x2) and i love beautiful freaks. i am under the impression most older fans are more upset about that nu metal trend & style and afraid they will loose their jazzy band to this. i think merry had punk elements and aggressive songs since the beginning. but maybe less? i don't remember. i personally really love their new songs. and this preview is kinda catchy plus i like when gara screams and the more agressive songs

nooo i don't want them to disband T____T such a jinx LOL and negative energy dude anyway i think you are wrong. they have this rebellious side that makes them awesome. but at the same time not being simple music or just random noise that many punk bands are. and i thought what was unique about merry was that they combine many elements like jazz ,blues, punk etc. i feel like they always had these kind of songs since the start. but i think you mean more the nu metal style/sound trend since i like the new songs i fail to understand what's the problem ? . but i respect some people i know who they adore them and are fans for so long and i am under the impression they want them to be more jazzy and melancholic and less agressive? am i understanding correctly? can you explain more what changed? what songs do you like more from the past? because i don't think they had such a huge/bad change. maybe it's just more in appearance. well they didn't stay in the past but the songs are still cool. i wanted to write my comment on the random thoughts thead because it goes for every artist people admire. i think when people treat their favorite artists like gods ,who never make mistakes are stupid. one of their most lovable and adorable parts is that they are humans and sometimes they look stupid or funny and make mistakes and we can joke about it .because we know we have done stupid things too. to be honest when i hear them sing or read lyrics or listen to music sometimes i feel like they are gods .and i am just blown away and so amazed. but then other times when i see them in videos or something. they seem so familiar. like they could be the guy next door. and i love that even if the seem so distant and unreachable and amazing .at the same time they seem close and familiar

i like their new direction. from all the bands that people say are disappointed with their new music.(like giru,mucc,lynch.merry and more bands .i see people complain about the new songs of these bands all the time) merry is the only one i don't have a problem and i still like them the same . i disagree with other people opinion. did you understand it now. is it more clear for you.

it would be better if i post this in random thought thread. i think vkei has trends and sometimes everyone have similar style. (like the one time most bands wore leopard print.the most obvious example. i swear i think kyo was mocking it or just funny choice because he wore a shirt with actual tiny leopards or something and not leopard print. at the same time everyone was wearing leopard print. as always being the unique. . lol) i mean ryoga looks similar to meto previous style. that i found awesome in meto but ugly in this case. that proves my point that not everyone looks good in same style. it depends. one can look awesome and one ugly

i think there are 2 songs. a) one that is when you don't know a band at all and it's the first one you hear.or the most popular of them or the reason you discovered them.and b} an other when you are a fan for a long time you have a different perspective about which song represents the band . and means more to you. sometimes it can be the same song but other times it changes. (i don't know about the live perspective. it can be different songs) examples for l'arc en ciel for buck tick for deg with luna sea with D edit: alice nine edit again : phantasmagoria

to be honest i am not excited with this preview. but i need to listen more. and since it's visual kei i am going to comment on looks. otogi's make up looks ugly as usual. he looks like a 4 year old who took his mother's make up or a crazy old lady with too much lipstick i like the others. i love abelcain make up very much. they looked all so pretty. made me think someone professional did it. i also love children make up. or older. i don't care though at all if i like the music but i can't help but thinking omg why!?
