  1. Welcome! Is that Minori in your avatar? I love her too!

Regarding music recs, dunno, I'm not into many strictly visual bands at the moment, but since you mentioned Satsuki he used to sing in Rentrer en Soi back in the day and I loved them to bits, so that would be a good start! You can freely roam the various topics and find what appeals to you most! Enjoy your stay! c:

  2. 12012 - Just the way you are... (SEVEN)

I've read a lot of discontent about SEVEN around the webz, yet it had me from the very beginning.

    DELUHI - G.A.L.D. (Yggdalive)

    Epic. Nuff said.

DIR EN GREY - Un deux (ARCHE)

Other openers of theirs have already been picked, plus this one equally kicks ass. Some said "and Zero" could have been an intro track, but I actually think it would have done ARCHE more justice if it were at the end, it feels more like a closure to me...

the GazettE - AGONY (STACKED RUBBISH)

Great opener for the album and various lives they did. Awesome.

    lynch. - Last Nite (SHADOWS)

Saying I love this is an understatement. One of lynch.'s best eras, hands down.

ONE OK ROCK - Koi no aibou kokoro no Kupido 恋ノアイボウ心ノクピド (Kanjou Effect 感情エフェクト)

My very first song from them and still going strong! So catchy.

Psysalia Psysalis Psyche - Subway Killer (eponymous EP)

    Love the atmosphere, love the vocals, love everything. Y DID U DISBAND THO ;__;

MUCC - Kagayaku Sekai 輝く世界 (Houyoku 鵬翼)

    Perfection.

  3. I tend to prefer albums, because some bands make them with a certain concept in mind and it's nice to try and experience the same kind of "journey" the artists tried to express in music. (DIM by the GazettE can be a fitting example of what I'm trying to say.) As far as singles are concerned, most times I just like the title track or one of the b-sides, so I don't enjoy them as much...

  4. The first recurrent titles that come to my mind are "Aqua" by 12012 & RENTRER EN SOI and "蜷局" [toguro] by DEG & the GazettE! There may be other songs with this name but I don't know/recall them...

Edit: oh right, the number 13! It's my favorite number, how could I forget lol

    Albums: 13's reborn - Girugamesh, 13 - SADS

    Songs: 13Stairs[-1] - the GazettE, 13 monsters - Pay money To my Pain (even though they're not vk), 13 - D'espairsRay, 13月の夢見丘 - D

  5. I'm neither spiteful, nor I'm wallowing in paranoia. I show gratitude when I receive help, I just don't put them in a high pedastal and go with the glorification everyone seems to love doing.

    [...]

Everyone's the same when you look from a higher view.

Just to put my two cents in this...

Friendship isn't about putting people on a pedastal, indeed. It's about sharing and caring, to a degree that depends on the person you're relating to. And respecting each other, which is very different from glorifying someone.

Reading your thoughts makes me wonder what kind of friendships you've witnessed/experienced...I'm not saying you're wrong, because I also used to feel really jaded and discouraged about interpersonal relationships in the past, especially after getting to know and then parting ways with people who didn't have a positive effect on me in the long run, but thankfully I've moved on from that.

One thing that's for sure is that no one, friends or not, can always save you from yourself. Your first and most important friend is you. You can't find solace in other humans if you don't have at least a decent relationship with yourself, your past, your fears and whatnot...And you can't rely completely on them, because people can't read minds and can't always be there for you - they may have their own lives, their own selves to tend to, from time to time. That's why sometimes people grow apart; forever is a long time but some people can be essential for as long as they stay.

That doesn't mean you have to settle for random or unsatisfying people, of course; just try and be a little less biased about this, because that's what comes across from what you say and how you say it.

(So many "people" in this post, oh well)

  6. DogManX, I don't mean to offend or anything, but I think you just took the poll too seriously. Review threads are open to people apart from the staff+official reviewers so they can comment on an album, it should go without saying that the poll options can't possibly be 100-ish words long and/or express every single nuance of what every single person thinks about it. If none of them applies to you, just speak up! It's what a forum is meant for in the first place.

    (sorry for intruding :x)

  7. While Uroboros stays up there as their best work with its overall organicity and ecstatic feel, Arche sure comes across as a very close second to me.

I, too, think that the first part flows waaay better than the second one and that some of the bonus tracks should have been in the regular version (but that won't make me spend 80 euros on the album, sorry you lovely old farts), yet this project pictures exhaustively how DEG can always reinvent themselves while expressing their skills both as individual musicians and as a whole.

I also appreciated how Kyo gave up on the constant screaming, one of the things that made DSS less enjoyable to me three years ago.

So for me it's a 9/10 and a permanent stay on the hype train.
