Akinori was possibly their only legit official bassist? All the other dudes before him on the wiki are listed as support only. But I'm hardly an expert on early Lynch. so maybe someone else in here can better comment on that.
  2. doombox

I hope they are. Maybe it's in the way the bands handled it too. HNIB seemed quick to distance themselves where Lynch seemed a bit more regretful about the situation? Np. I didn't see it initially either, a friend passed it along so I'm just spreading the word. That's really not a bad idea at all tbh. XD
  3. doombox

I almost made it all year avoiding this song but noooo year end lists had to infect me. TT
  4. doombox

I thought they were linked too. 2 friends with similar busts one right after the other? Had to be. He is in another band, but they're having a hard time booking any gigs.

It's kinda blowing my mind this is happening when Umebo from HNIB was axed for similar and is now basically blacklisted from the scene....
  6. Are personal end of the year lists still a thing? Anyone else working on them?

I could make a list but it would be something else than J-rock or VK for the most part. Well, maybe 40-50% J-rock and one VK album. It was pretty amazing year for non-rock Japanese music imo... But lists are fun to make so I'll probably do it sooner or later anyway.

Maybe someone can write a review why vkei was so bad this year. and writing why some CD's just didn't hit the favorite list.

      or something like that.

      its not that reviews need to be positive aways. (*_*;

I will eventually drop my list on this month, but I couldn't focus much on it with my graduation coming this next semester.

Idk if the song is that bad, but you can tell they are working with no budget at all. Shoddy production isn't helping, unfortunately. I still think this would be fun live tho.

MUCC, ONE OK ROCK, and coldrain are the only ones fighting off all the Kpop.
  9. If anyone ever made a movie/docu about the rise and fall of Mejibray I would watch tf out of that. Move over We Are X.

"we aren't X" could be a cool title for that.

    This is disappointing.

This list cracked me up. Nice work, there are definitely looks that deserve to be discussed. Maybe some of these bands should have had discussions about them beforehand. As for the poll, I put kinda. I will listen to a band with crappy looks if I like the music, and likewise, I don't care how nice their look is, if the music is shit, I'm out. Too many bands put way too much effort into their image to make up for the fact they can't play their instruments, and I hate that the scene has pretty much become a catch-all for subpar musicians like that.
  15. I'm here extremely late for all of this.

  21. I saw the news first thing when I woke up this morning, it's early evening for me now and it still hasn't really sunk in. He always seemed like the kind of person who was able to conquer whatever mountain he decided to climb. It's so sad to see he was hurting for so long. I hope he's at peace now, I'm gonna miss him.

Basically same thing as @Zeussaid. Losing all the info on that site would be a gut punch to the historians of the scene. It's more of a fear of "worst case scenario" thing. Hopefully you're right and he is able to return like he says.
  23. Kinda sad that sample songs goes off the rails in the second half. I was digging the beginning.

Temporary Residence has some great pressings of ENVY and MONO for people looking for their back catalogs. Topshelf doesn't stop at MotKs and toe, they also have LITE (I have the LITE/MotKs split and it's lovely) and tricot. But if we're including Japanese pressings.... I've also bought MUCC, the fin., and Crystal Lake albums recently from CDJapan of all places.

If their label still owns the rights to their songs then yes, it would go to the label. Usually a contract runs out at some point though (but I'm not an expert in Japanese recording contracts tbh) and after that the song royalties would go straight to the artist themselves. But like mentioned above, if you can buy it direct from his website that would benefit them the most.
