    Welcome to round 1 of our Karaoke Contest 2015! Please check out the entries and pick your favourite!

    You should vote purely based on vocal skills, not the choice of song, recording quality etc.

If one or more tracks are tied for fifth place at the end of the voting, there will be a tie-breaker vote. The vote will close Wednesday 24th at 11 pm (CEST).

    Please do NOT ask your friends on social media etc. to vote for your song, or advertise your entry here! One of the reasons we use pseudonyms is to avoid friend voting! This contest is about your vocal talents, not mobilizing people on Facebook! If we notice that someone is trying to rig the voting by asking for votes, that person will be banned from the contest!

    That's one of the few things I actually am excited for when it comes to the FFVII remake, seeing what they change from the original and what improvements they make to the game, but I know a lot of people who doesn't want the game to change whatsoever other than the graphics and I'm just like why? Those are the kind of people I'm mainly fed up with at the moment. Personally I hope they change a lot of different things about the game and improve on it as a whole, while still keeping the nostalgia aspects as well... if that's even possible.

    I agree with you there.

    I own the original. It's even my first ever FF and I probably wasn't even 11 when I played it for the first time. I love it and I always have, but apparently I'm wrong for even slightly anticipating this remake. Do I want this remake or do I find it necessary? Nah, not really, but now they're doing it anyway I don't see why I can't be a little hyped. Having that full game in great graphics and characters with actual voices AND getting it with an updated current gen touch? Why the hell not?

    What I don't understand though, is that I've seen so many people say they want the exact same game and just want Square to "update the graphics and have the characters talk" but aren't they realizing the gameplay as it was in '97 on PSone won't do for PS4 and our current gaming generation? They're not solely remaking the full game for everyone's childhood sentiments. Nomura even said something about that, telling people who just want the game as it was to download the port when it's coming to PS4. They're not putting in this much money only to please people who grew up with the original. No, they're bringing that original which so many people loved back then to the current times, so that they can have a whole new generation of gamers experience it in current standards.

    Because the new generation wants to play it because of all the hype and they cringe when they see the out dated graphics, it's not nostalgic to them.  I don't understand why everyone has to get all anal about people getting excited about a new gaming experience from an old game.  Ignore them and move on.  I love the original but I wouldn't mind playing it again in HD, just saying.

    welp the last few posts reminded me of a paper i wrote years ago on how vk (quite literally) "performs" gender. yup the good old days when judith butler was basically on the syllabus of every high theory course and when gender studies was still somewhat fresh and interesting >_>

    Most visual kei bands are comprised of a bunch of men who adopt make up and costumes that are seen as traditionally "female".
    Most female visual kei bands dress like a bunch of men who adopt make up and costumes that are seen as traditionally "female".
    Not many visual bands dress to promote traditional "male" values.

    I read these lyrics the other week and thought it was pretty damn distrubing.
    Still a cool song though.

    By the way, on the second line of the second stanza, it should be "hou" and not "kata". ^^

    edit: or hō, depending on other people's preferences

    I realized that I joined this community 5 years ago, but never made any posts nor introduced myself here...haha.  I think I made this account to download something and then just kinda left....Yeah, sad to say that I'm one of those people, sorry!! >.<;
    BUT!! As I find myself back in the Jrock phase I wanted to discuss about music with others and found that this place might be suitable~  (especially since the previous forums I used to be active in are dead now, does anyone remember batsu lol???)  Anyway, I feel like I should make a proper self-introduction this time!

    Well, basically I've been listening to Jrock ever since 2007 and was especially into baroque and Plastic Tree.  In recent years I strayed away from the visual kei scene and listened to other Japanese genres such as garage rock, punk, post-rock, and shoegaze.  And then it wasn't until last year that I got back into the Jrock phase and started listening to bands such as Mejibray, AvelCain, and Dezert.  Also, I am currently studying abroad in Japan right now so I've been frequenting a few live events.  And because of that I wanted to catch up on some Jrock news as well!  Anyway, nice to meet you all! ^0^
