plastic_rainbow got a reaction from itsukoii in does anyone know if this is actually hibari (ex. schmelz cure/mid deracine)'s twitter
in rem's twitter description it lists 邪威 too so i'm pretty sure it's the same hibari.

plastic_rainbow got a reaction from itsukoii in does anyone know if this is actually hibari (ex. schmelz cure/mid deracine)'s twitter
i think it might be him! seems like he's doing a few session bands and one of them is 邪威 (jai?) which he plays with the guitarist rem from mid deracine!

plastic_rainbow reacted to Ikna in Watching a late 90's anime being aired on TV as of this week I confirm that real pain
Depends. As an "artist" who paints both traditional and digital you can make both look great. Both media have heir pros and cons and digital really isn't that much easier, nor objectively shittier. Sometimes it takes even more time than painting traditionally (also 3D animation isn't easy peasy either, you have to really learn it).
I think the problem is more that modern animes are produced fast and cheap and there isn't much time invested to make it good from the get go (see the enhanced BluRay releases, while the initial premier on TV is the crappy alpha version).
The industry has become pretty unforgiving (you either loose a lot of money or you win a lot) and studios try to cash in as best as possible, hence they produce way too much in shorter timeframes. Hell, most animators nowadays work themselves to death with 12+ hour workdays, yet earn almost nothing. They need to puke out these new episodes like a machine. I think there was recently an animator who died because of overworking.

plastic_rainbow reacted to Tokage in ACIDMAN - When you like to cry while listening to music.
I've always been quite partial to this song myself, I guess it helps that the PV is pretty cool aesthetic-wise as well:

i haven't heard everything by ACIDMAN but suisha is a very beautiful song that i had on repeat for a while. i'll definitely check out those other songs listed above.

plastic_rainbow got a reaction from Komorebi in Guys, anyone knows cheap-ish and safe accomodations in Tokyo for a woman traveling al
your mother is worrying too much. japan is one of the safest places out there, and people say it all the time because well, it's true. i actually feel safe going out alone at night compared to where i live (even tho the crime rate is pretty low). i mean, of course you should still be alert, but as long as you avoid the red light district area or any of those sketchy places you should be totally fine.

yes, i recommend hostels if you want something cheap. the one i went to (i don't remember which one right now) didn't have towels for showering tho (i used one of my shirts instead lol), plus the bath/shower was kinda narrow so just be mindful of things like that. having little privacy sucks, but it shouldn't be a big problem if you're mostly out and about exploring anyway. you can also try capsule hotels, which are quite similar to hostels.
or if you just really need a place to stay for the night you can opt for manga cafes. you won't have a real bed to sleep on, but they're soooooo cheap for one night. plus, the showers are always good and clean (the ones i've been to anyway). i don't recommend it if you have a lot of baggage on you though since the tiny cubicle is all the space you'll have.

you should be fine in any hostel that's not rated horribly on hostelworld.com and you can generally choose a female only dorm. i've enjoyed sakura hostel and quite a few from the khaosan hostel chain. keep your valuables locked up in the hostel and keep to streets where there's people late at night and safety shouldn't be an issue... as a tourist you'll probably be in more crowded places overall. i did airbnb once for okinawa but it can be less set-it-and-forget-it than hostels as you generally have to pick up keys and depending on the accommodation the owner may be there with you and thus you might feel obligated to make small talk... you have to rely even more on reviews when choosing airbnb imo.
if hostels are not private enough for you the toyoko inn is a decent business hotel with a lot of locations as well.

Such a sweet song indeed! Nu Age is so, so good! I still think helios is their best work, but they had some real gems on early releases
