It was a joke and it didn't say anything about them doing it to be more like Gazette so that's pretty stupid thing to type... ...and I think you mean type or write... ...I didn't say anything... Glad you enjoyed it though
  5. IMO, I always saw them as a Gazette clone so I'm going to make A LOT of remarks about Gazette, but I do think they are a good band and I still enjoy their songs. Lately, they have been moving away from that and I find it more interesting overall. now onward with my review: BLINDNESS: PV was eh (the beach...it looks like the same beach in Gazette's "Chizuru"). However, this song is really interesting to listen to. The really heavy composition mixed with a more lighter chorus really does something to the ear. The stark contrast makes the song beautiful. 3.5/5 blossom: Now here is a surprise. I thought I was listening to Ayabie for a little bit. It is just sooo happy. Couldn't believe this was a song that they made. I think the singing in this song is the highlight. His voice fits really well into this style. Nothing to amazing, but not anything to skip over. NO TRACE OF GAZETTE! YEAH! For making me feel happy inside. 4/5 イノセント - WHOA! What is with that opening instrumental!? JUST CRAZY! LOVE IT! The laugh thing that is in this song is actually really well used. I wasn't expecting this song to be so overall light hearted. I mean the only really hard part of this song is like the main riff. But it is my favorite track by far they've ever made. Beautiful singing. Interesting instrumentation. GO AND! 5/5 Overall: 4/5. I loved this single. They are starting to shown their own identity and I LOVE IT! Let's see, I've had this single for little under a hour now and I must say my itunes has said that I've listen to each song at least 5 times. Really well structured music. Nothing more just love this single!!!!! YAY! *oh...one more Gazette comparison...isn't it funny how the only member change in Gazette was their drummer and how And's only member change thus far has been their drummer? lol..sorry...

IZAM from Shazna!? ooooooo me likey!

There is really no need to call people stupid for their opinion on Sujk just b/c he is your influence. Him being your influence doesn't make him any more or less overrated..now since you are a drummer, it would be better if you could tell people what makes him so great instead of insulting them for their opinion.

    F*** YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow really? cool. maybe they'll become a band that are like FLOPPY or metronome or some musical style in that sense. I personally didn't like the band too much, but they did have a couple of songs that i like...Latency Snow, Kitsune, Senkou I wish them all the best and look forward to some new stuff from them.
  10. I'm highly offended that social riot was not in it. That's like their theme song! I'll probably get the best of CD though. I'm a sucker for best of cds lol

Least favorite single out of the 3 singles... Juggernaut - eh. Didn't like the song so much. Just blah. 2/5 true word - I like the instrumental, but nothing impressive as stated by many. 3/5 Overall: 2.5/5. How'd they make something awesome like -toge- and then come up with basically a lesser -toge-. Just wasn't too good to me. I'm glad this campaign is over. Now hopefully they get back to the stuff they were making before this.

    consider it bought.

PLEDGE - while not the most original work; very catchy. out of the 4 songs they've released for this next album (before i decay, shiver, red, and pledge), THIS SONG IS THE BEST OF THEM! not saying too much, but this gives me hope for the album. This also has to be one of the most beautifully structured ballad they've done. All the changes up in this song make it incredible which is something Gazette hasn't done before for 6 minutes. Not a lot of bands can even change the song up for 3 minutes. Very catchy. The only problem I have with this song is Ruki's vocals. He doesn't sound as emotional as prior ballads. It comes off as more of an 'act' instead of genuine emotion. Still decent. 3/5 The True Murderous Intent - Just b/c there are females in it singing poppy and doing fillers in the background doesn't make it FITB pt 2. They've had lots of songs with women in the background (Stack Rubbish was full of it). Really dug this song though Ruki sounds like he gave up singing; he's just not putting his heart in any more and I can tell. The intro is really awesome sounding. Really cool first verse instrumental. There is some fucking awesome guitar things going on behind Ruki's vocals. 4/5 Voiceless Fear - Thought it was a ballad. Couldn't be more wrong. I was so surprised when it changed over. The ladies sound great with Ruki's voice in the beginning. Main riff sounds like a cooler version of Shiver. Reita stars in this song for me. His bass line just sounds so fun to play. The song overall is not that great to me. Kind of got bored with it after a little while. Too repetitive. 2.5/5 Overall: 3/5. Definitely the best of the singles they have released after DIM overall. I actually enjoy the B-sides unlike the other singles. But this is still not good enough to make me jump for joy. As I've stated before, this is seemingly going to be a bad Stacked Rubbish (this coming from someone who loved Stacked Rubbish). Gazette might need to take a little hiatus like Deluhi so they can come back stronger. I know Ruki had vocal problems so maybe he can't sing as good as he use to but it seems like he has given up on the songs. Like he doesn't even try to put in emotion and it leaves me a bit disconnected from it to be honest. Uruha and Aoi continue to do fun interesting things with their guitar and even Reita (who by the way is my fav. Jrock bassist) got some good praise for fun basslines, but the drumming was kind of blah...except for the synth drum tracks. Just decent.
  16. :cough:cough:rentrer en soi :cough: Have to agree with this and Core wasn't a good album to me

IMO, just b/c a fan thinks that Marrow of a Bone wasn't as good as their other albums, doesn't make them a pussy that can't handle brutal music. MOTB wasn't that great of an album b/c the songs didn't stick as much and I felt like I've heard it all before b/c I do live in America. I feel like them just making a copy of American music is a sign of regression in itself. Perhaps progression from a VK style, but definitely a regression in overall musical quality. When they made UROBOROS, I believe they made progress b/c they merged their unique musical style with an American sound thus making something progressive. And since, they've been riding high with their releases... As for the question asked by Shaneth which you ignored ...I personally would like to see them try to take on a more traditional Japanese sound kind of like Kagrra, and mix it with their more brutal style they've come to now.

Yes! Can't wait for this! Maybe the B-side will have another re-recorded song...I loved the newer version of Undecided and Zan...

刹那??刻 - Pretty cool intro. I love how it builds into the song. I love whispering introductions. Solid song, but far from anything spectacular. 3/5 DUALITY - for the title track, I say it is very weak. Everything just seems like a flat blur. Nothing in this song really stands out except for the tapping section. Just didn't do its job as a title song. Boring. 2/5 Cursed Hurricane - Still like this song. It is just very catchy to me. Decent 3/5 ファム・ファタール - Pretty cool heavy song with nice techno-ish elements, but once again it suffers from just being on the same level. Really good the first couple of times, but something I'll probably pass over after awhile. 3/5. false dawn - Very nice on the ears. Love the singing in this. Incredibly catchy. The song goes by in a blur for me, but I enjoy the ride. 3.5/5 Lower World - I'm a sucker for pianos. Loved it at first, but I felt like it dragged on a little bit. The only parts that hit me truly were the intro and outro. 3/5 Ancient Rain - Better than Cursed Hurricane. Finally a song that doesn't sound to flat. Still love this ballad. 4/5 Inferiority Complex - That chorus! ewwwwww....after the endless nightmare part. WTF is that NOTE he hits? or rather attempts to hit? b/c just...no. Love the cool synths. Reminds me of old school Screw. Didn't mind this song too much, but that chorus is what pulled it down for me. 3.5/5 M.R.T. - Listening closely....does that deep growl say "Shut the fuck up?" lol...sounds like it. Do Screw write lyrics to their songs anymore? It seems like they make a lot of noise over an instrumental. Pretty fun instrumental to listen too, but I'd take the vocals out any day to save this song. 2.5/5 Jail breaker - Sweet sounding intro. If Byou didn't growl and scream so much, this might have been a great song. I like his low whispers and lower vocals. The screaming makes this songs sound bad. The chorus is horrible. 2.5/5 rosary - FINALLY! So sweet. Beautiful melody. Perfect singing for this song. So heartfelt. Beautiful pianos. Excellent solo. Just an overall great song. Why couldn't all the songs be this tight and beautiful. 5/5 as cold as marble - I'm surprised. I like the chorus which is becoming more and more rare for each Screw song that I listen to recently. The vocal melody to this song is pretty nice to listen to. Once again - spot on solo. Why did they wait until the end of the album to make good songs. 4.5/5 Overall: 3/5. Not going to lie, I prefer X Rays. lol. These song while put together better are flat and the chorus lines have gotten worse IMO. Some of these songs it's like Byou just forgot how to flow lyrics into them. At least on X Rays, the vocal melodies fit the songs better and didn't seem awkward at times. I'm sorry, but their is no reason to waste money on this album. There are only a handful of good songs on here. Flat sound. Vocals suffer at times or just aren't good. The instrumentals weren't bad, I think it has to do more with mastering off the song, but I can see why they won't be major anytime soon....sorry.
  20. Eh...nothing too special....possibly more uninspiring than RED and Shiver...but we'll see...they need to do another hard song single like Before I decay

They were my second visual kei band (malice mizer being first)...but to be honest, they haven't really released anything spectacular in awhile. It's sad b/c I know each member is really, really talented with their instruments and compositions. There songs lately while well structured are still not as powerful as say when they came out with like "Urei" or "Oukaranman" or the beautiful "Satsuki". "Shi Mi Me Yu Ki Sa A" was the last song I felt was worth my time from this band and that's sad to say b/c I love them...Good luck to all the members.

Birthday - first time I'm reviewing an intro b/c it deserves it! Truly amazing! Bizarre, hard, and definitely gets me pumped up for the rest of the album. 5/5 Rotate - The chorus kind of reminds of when "Another Reign" when the chorus picks up. I wasn't too impressed with this song. I was however amazed that they put in a solo for this song. It through me off guard. Decent. 3/5 Lead - Don't know why, but I don't like his singing in the chorus nor do I like the chorus in general. This song is decent overall. I feel like I've heard this style from them though so I'm not too impressed. Nothing really stands out. 3/5 flood beads - Sick guitar riff. Sick bass. Sick song overall. This is the impressive song I was waiting for. They managed to do a heavy song without speeding it up to a fast tempo. This is more emotional instead of catchy and I love it. 4/5 pressed flower - Like the remake. Sounds refined, but this song still is just plain to me. 3/5 Reborn - I swear I've heard a song like this before, but not from them so this is a good experiment for them once again. I'm really getting sick of these interchangable(?) poppy chorus lines though. 3/5 Plant - I zone out in this song. It's just not my type. Too much repetitive lyrics and I don't like the singing too much either. This is an experiment I don't think worked too well. 2.5 Bitter&Sweet - oh! I like those verses! Though the main riff of the song isn't anything I care for. The chorus is poppy again. It's ok. Strings - More poppy chorus...but his voice sounds really great during it. Love the piano in this. It works really well to boost the energy of the song. Guitar playing is fuckin' amazing in this. 4/5 Rain Delay - still don't like this song, but I appreciate the effort. 2/5 Seventh Tier - My favorite track despite the overall all similar sounding pop that they've been putting out. I think this is by the far the best of that style. It's perfect in every way. 5/5 THRUST - awkward guitar riff. It's like a jazzy hardcore song...hard to describe. Very interesting though! I think I've found love. Finally they do a heavy song that sounds somewhat unique. 4/5 Sky High - Another ballad attempt. This sounds better. Once again I feel like I've heard this. The chorus reminds me of something Ayumi Hamasaki-ish. I like this a lot more than Rain Delay. Sounds more refined and his voice is actually really beautiful in this. 3/5 Overall 3.5/5. I respect this band a lot more now! They've proven they can have range in their songs. Even though they use a lot of the same poppy chorus, they are very catchy and enjoyable. I recommend this album definitely over Versus. More range and the songs have a lot better chance of sticking around in your head for more than a week or so.
  23. I use to ease my friends into it by starting with bands that use a lot of understandable English...Ellegarden..Cold Rain...FACT. It's been easier to break my friends lately though b/c of anime and seeing some bands live at Otakon. I tend to stick with music along those lines until they want to explore on their own.
