seikun got a reaction from gekiai in Post your "UNPOPULAR" music opinions!
Chilean here too
I remember I once watched a video with fans welcoming the band at the airport in Chile and, Kyo and the other members look very serious and like not in the mood to be receptive of the fans' enthusiam with them.
From all the concerts I have watched (mpg, avi, vob files) people always sing along and react to the songs. It is new to me hearing at least Kyo has his episodes with his audience at lives. But still I find it unikely that he would mistreat his US fanbase because one of Dir en grey's biggest interest was to make it in the US and they certainly don't want to put all that in jeopardy.

seikun got a reaction from Zalemu in Scarlet Valse new maxi-single "Lunatic Mind" release
I love the preview. MASK sounds so MATINA.
I love the sound of the second guitar which is very uncommon to hear today.
It looks like the new members turned out to be a positive change the band needed.

I think I agree, those PVs are boring. Today VK bands don't seem to use exteriors anymore...
That blindfolded girl on the cover reminds me so much of Mon Laferte, a Chilean singer very famous these days.

Kanashii uta, the very first song I listened to by Awoi and my favourite. It was in december 2006 that I listened to it for the first time.

Viored's Kei - 10 years on, Kimikage Kusa still tugs on the heartstrings
Aota Yuu - Betty, 176BIZ, Zuck
Otogi - Awoi
btw@Zeus, the photo you added was Tomozo. Hajime is this one:

I read Yuki and I thought Raphael and Rice. He's millenial too.

seikun reacted to platy in LADYBEARD new idol group, "DEADLIFT LOLITA"
The two girls are still going under the incredible name 'THE IDOL FORMERLY KNOWN AS LADYBABY'
I'm actually looking forward to deadlift lolita, ladybeard has an amazing energy and it's a lot more interesting to have him paired up with another woman who does body building (one of the most interesting idol traits i've come across tbh) rather than an underage girl who's done a lot of dodgy things in her career and and a normal idol girl i couldn't remember if I tried.

seikun got a reaction from wesjrocker in Anyone else getting over VK recently?
Musically, most bands today don't catch my attention. I admit most bands today play much better than older bands, but they don't play the kind of music that I like in Visual Kei. I also see the theatrical aspect of Visual Kei lost, there is no dramatization of any kind anymore except for a few bands here and there. I also feel like for many Visual Kei bands today their looks are meaningless, there's not real or at least minimal purpose in dressing and looking like that in an artistic sense.
Visual Kei cannot be always at the top just like no other music style/scene is at the top forever. Sooner or later they dwindle and lose their initial appeal among the crowd. Goth was the thing in the past; it isn't anymore. Metal was the thing in the past; it isn't anymore and etc. All styles lose their appeal to some degree someday.
I'm not over Visual Kei, I still love it; it's just that there is less offered for my taste.

Especially because FREEZE was surprisingly consistent and GOOD. Hell, I was listening to it today again. It sounds better today than it did back in the day.

seikun got a reaction from Zalemu in Songs you always have on repeat
Another one of many:
Due le quartz: Re:plica.
I love everything about that song. I love paying attention to Kikasa playing the bass and his elegance to play.

seikun got a reaction from Serox in David, SUI (ex-Megaromania-->凛(Lin)) solo project, has joined Chateau Agency
I don't know what to think. I need a longer sample.
Metis Gretel had very nice riffs and melodies in general with the exception of the synth they used to create those sort of sudden squeaky (perhaps not the right word) noises that can drive someone mad >.<
He should have found a different look as it is too reminiscent of Kamijo. Or perhaps he didn't have much choice in the looks...

seikun got a reaction from DizzyShiori in PS COMPANY new band "ZOL" has formed
I find this type of videos annoying because they don't give any concrete idea of the sound of a new band.

seikun got a reaction from Komorebi in Misaruka will conditionally -disband-?! (update (1/12): YEAH)
I don't think the sound of their music is good. I find it poorly produced and saturated with synthetic melodies and other sounds, especially that ridiculous violin sound >.<
Apart from what the band itself has to solve I think SR also has to improve its production quality.

seikun got a reaction from shiroihana in Google trends showing the decline of visual kei
As far as my knowledge on the topic goes, gender non-conformism in the aesthetics of Visual Kei is not necessarily from a social cause perspective though... I mean, they are not dressing like that for awareness and empathy with gender non-conforming people; the looks of Visual Kei started as disruptive and provoking elements to shock a very conformist and rigid society and, as time went by it became just a form of artistic expression which can be exerted from many angles.
Being gender non-conforming isn't a ticket to liking Visual Kei. The interest in it is a matter of personal taste regardless of gender expression.

seikun got a reaction from suji in Misaruka will conditionally -disband-?! (update (1/12): YEAH)
My impression is that bands under Starwave Records don't grow professionally much. With the years that Misaruka has been around they don't really show progress in the quality of their music.
Perhaps it is time for SR to bring a change in the way they do things.

Hmm, like I want to like them, but I'm not totally convinced. They seem to have potential, but the music is a kind of cheesy in sound...
I think the guitar player needs to do more than playing monotonous notes all the time.

seikun got a reaction from Chikage in Moi dix Mois new album release
Wow, this needs to be in the form of a DVD release.
Thanks.
