i couldn't find anything about Aikayru on the net unfortunately, if you could send me a link to something of theirs that would be awesome since TERU is my fave. Ill look up cotd later when i have more free time though

Here's a link to one of their classics:

  3. Welcome!

Have you heard of Aikayru? It’s an old band of TERU from Versailles/Jupiter. Also, if you like BABYMETAl, you might like COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS; NARASAKI of COTD has composed some BABYMETAL songs. “Catch me if you can” is one of them, I think

I'll keep this until it stops working, just like I did with my previous phone which I had for 6-7 years or so. This one I've had for either 2 or 3 years. Still works perfectly fine, despite the fact that I don't have any protection on it or anything.

I always admire and respect people who get this much use out of their phones. I keep my computers as long as possible, but I tend to switch my phone out with a newer model every 2-3 years because I want something new or need more storage. The older model always goes to my mom or girlfriend, though.

  5. I have an iPhone 8 Plus 256GB. I like iOS and I use a lot of Apple things in general so it helps that the iPhone works well with them. I don’t like or respect Google as a company so I’m pretty averse to their products. (Not that Apple is perfect.) I had an Android phone briefly many years ago but I just wasn’t into it and quickly replaced it with an iPhone. There are a lot of iOS apps I use now for school/writing and music production that are not available on other platforms, so I’m kind of locked in whether I like it or not.

I’ve had this phone since it came out over 2 years ago. I’d like to keep it for at least 3. My only real problem with it is that it’s a bit large and heavy which sometimes makes it feel unwieldy. I also have an iPad, so I probably should have just gotten the smaller-sized iPhone 8. Oh well.

I'd suggest  第7 as well, I think 第5 or 第6 would work well too. The band  had a different vocalist on Dai 5 but it's still a very good album overall

Yeah, they're all good. 第6 was the first one I got into but I think 第7 may be more accessible.

Noted, thank you very much for the recommendation! I haven't heard of them, but it looks like their discography has a lot of material to work with. Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for - I'll check them out when I get a chance to sit at my computer.

Yeah their discography is huge. I think 第7実験室 is a good starting point personally.

I'll tell you this: if you're looking for some funky fresh bass in your j-music you oughta look more into cali≠gari's discography if you haven't already (it helps that  they're simply a very good band in general)

Seconded. And their name is in reference to a silent horror film from the 1920s, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari!

Midsommar was pretty good; it felt so much like a brighter and more folk-y Hereditary so it didn't do as much for me. Just kind of left me with this feeling that is was Hereditary: Spring Break Edition. Very impressive cinematography though, and the psychedelic editing is so cool!

Yeah, that's a fair assessment of Midsommar. It was very bright and did some interesting things with daylight shots whereas Hereditary was quite dark and worked more with nighttime shots. The latter was superior in my opinion as well. But, I enjoyed both. Actually, the brightness in Midsommar stood out to me as pretty unique because it's rare for a horror movie to have so much daylight.

  10. Welcome! I too have a (tentative) degree in writing which may or may not prove to be of any use other than to dry one’s tears while disparaging. I also like horror! I used to be into Nightmare on Elm Street as a kid but I haven’t watched any of them in a long time. I remember the remake from some years back not being any good...

    Have you seen Underwater?

  11. 新宿ゲバルト (shinjuku gewalt) released a new single titled 劇場都市 (gekijou toshi) at their last one-man live on 2020/01/31, which took place at KOENJI HIGH.

The release sold for 1500円, and the tracklist is as follows:

    1. EC改

It’s available in three colors (pictured below). Fans will likely have the opportunity to pick up a copy at their next live on 03/30 at 新宿LOFT, which is a two-man show with GOATBED. Exciting.

  12. Hi everyone,

Some of you may have known me as tachikomatic on Last.FM long ago. I used to help run jsalad, which was something like a rival forum to Monochrome Heaven for a while back when it was Tainted World.

A lot of what I listen to these days is Japanese new wave/electronic music from the 80s like YMO, Togawa Jun, and P-MODEL + associated acts. But, I do love vk (especially heavier stuff like Aikaryu and vellaDonna), and angura kei. The first few Japanese bands I really got into as a teenager were Kagrra, cali≠gari, and metronome Here are some notable faves:

    shinjuku gewalt / 新宿ゲバルト
    pinokiwo / ピノキヲ
    COSMO-SHIKI
    FLOPPY
himitsu kessha kodomo A / 秘密結社コドモA
    sandwich de 120 pun?
    DENTAKU
    Proxyon /
    HONDALADY
    Plastic Tree
    goatbed
    COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS

Anyway, my tastes are mostly stuck in the past. I’ve been apart from the community for some time and I’d like to get back into things. I hope that I’m able to provide a valued presence here.

    Thank you for reading.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2020! The CG looked fantastic, Marsden played his role perfectly,  the credit sequence (despite the unnecessary song) was well done and fitting. I came in to it thinking it would be strongly aimed at children but the comedy was quite decent. The film plays it pretty safe so whilst it's enjoyable there's nothing that really stands out but to name a couple issues, Jim Carrey is a bit too over the top, it's the typical character Carrey played in the older days but it's just a bit much. A couple more references to the games and music would've been nice (there were a few times that the invincibility theme would've fit perfectly) and I wish there was more to the film, it feels like it's over pretty quickly and the journey from A to B doesn't have much going on. Overall enjoyable and it was nice to see a video game adaptation not completely butchered.

This is the last movie I saw too. I agree that the film played it safe, and I also wished there was more to it. It recycled the basic road trip plot we’ve seen in so many films. I actually kind of thought Jim Carrey was the best part because it felt like a return to form for him. But then, I always liked Ace Ventura and such.

The opening and ending scenes were probably the best parts. I just wish it didn’t take place on Earth, in the “real world.”

For a video game adaptation, though, it wasn’t bad.
