If the plan is to get more people involved and get more people to host the tradeoff, why not increase the volume of tradeoffs a bit? I chose 11 months (excluding December, which seems to be a universally busy month) because I think with proper planning, it could be done. There seems to be plenty enough tradeoff ideas to go around and I think this would allow for more specific and varied themes, especially since not everyone will participate each month. For instance, as things are, most of the tradeoff themes are kept rather broad - which is great, but I think if there are more tradeoffs, that could give hosts a bit more leeway, and they don't have to feel like they're alienating certain users with a more specific theme, since users will have even more chances to participate in future tradeoffs. Not to mention, It might also boost the overall morale of the forum if there's always an event going on. You could have people submit their tradeoff ideas, assess the idea, and if it's approved, add said person to the hosting queue. If someone doesn't want to actually host the idea that they submitted, there's enough staff around that someone on board should be willing handle the hosting duties. If 11 tradeoffs a year is overkill, then chop it down a bit, but I don't think increasing the volume a bit more could hurt either! Just a few thoughts!

Can't wait for the album!

@doomboxKelly, you do a beautiful job at this every month. Thank you for keeping things going! @Original Saku- yay for nowisee! I think they'd make some pretty amazing anime themes if they ever chose to do so. I'm also pleasantly surprised to see Uri Nakayama get a mention. I haven't listened to the new album yet, but I'm super pleased to see that you're a fan, and just to see SOMEONE talk about her!

LOL, what were you expecting? Personally, I'd highly recommend their 2011 or 2014 album. Nihon wasn't bad, but I don't think it can hold a candle to those two!

"HEAR YOU" may be toe's weakest album, but it's still got plenty of replay value!

I think this short video is related to what I mentioned in my post: But I think @fitear1590also has a brilliant point, and one that hadn't crossed my mind! I completely neglected the fact that I am indeed more of a song-person! For instance, PELICAN FANCLUB'S "MUTE" and "for elite" are some of my favorite songs of the year, yet I only found the album decent at best. In fact, most of the albums I listed under "decent" have two or three killer tracks, just not enough for me to rank higher.

I've updated and completely overhauled my post finally! I didn't think my initial rating were subjective enough. An interesting observation: this is my second year constructing one of these "listen logs" if you will, and in both years, I've noticed that the lower rankings in my lists hold the bulk of releases. It makes me wonder if in previous years my lists would have looked any different - and my intuition tells me they would have. If my year-end lists are any indication, it seems like I enjoy less and less new music as the years pass by. My theory for this is that I think I've listened to soooooooo many albums and artists (i'm going to assume somewhere over 6000 artists - this is my ballpark estimate assuming I never reset my old last.fm account and in addition to my new one), that the musical template in my brain has built up to a point where it's difficult for novel music to leave much of an impression. I suppose this might be a long way to say that I've become more picky, or perhaps my taste has become more precise. hmm..

Yeah, 2015 was the weakest no doubt. I'm really hoping they release something new soon, because they can't leave us hanging like that! Some of my favorite tracks include; 赤い衝動-R.I.P-, Violet Purple Bible, 悟ri+time, 粋NALI, 具現化中, and 愚痴×愚痴×悪魔. Though they obviously have a ton of awesome songs. I might have to do a proper ranking sometime. LOL but did you like them tho? And do you remember what release you tried? :P

I self-taught for a bit, so I can read kana, and I know some basic grammar and vocab, a few random kanji as well. I'd like to get some formal training at some point, though.

Some select songs by lynch. and the GazettE, mostly more recent stuff - "EVOKE" and "DERACINE" respectively are good ones for me lately. I probably listen to these bands more when I'm exercising than I do at other times. Most of ling tosite sigure's upbeat tracks work really well for me as well, especially songs from later in their career where the production is much better, and much more effective. Other than that, the J-rock songs on my workout playlist are mostly just random, "intense" songs from a variety of other bands. ATATA's "General Headquarters", Boris' "Vanilla", girugamesh's "gravitation', Psysalia Psysalis Psyche's "SUBWAY KILLER" to name a few. I'm not too picky as long as the energy is good.

oh damn! ahaha, I don't even remember! XD I'd say my fav is definitely 2014's 攻撃的国民的音楽, followed by 2011's SYG88 in a close second. Then 0088, ○△□ , and 八+八 are pretty much on the same level for me. I don't think they've ever released anything bad, though.

I've been spamming 5th again lately. That album is so ridiculously good. It's like the perfect length too. I'm really amped for 6th. I know these guys pay A LOT of attention to production and sound design too. There are so many sounds in 5th that would be grating/unappealing on their own, but the way they blend into the mix is just pure beauty.
