chemicalpictures got a reaction from Elazmus in Maaaan, I miss MBHI. Nowhere to get a djent kei fix these days...
Yeah, Re;MBHI is something that shouldn't exist... Rabies and Soft Disk are indeed some kind of prototype LACK-CO., both terribles...

And you mean JILUKA? I really tried to like what they do, but it always feel so messy and uninspired, like they are trying too hard to be edgy... Everytime I think I'll enjoy any of their songs, the vocalist comes with a bland as fuck chorus to bury any expectations... They do heavy just for the sake of being heavy, feels like there's no soul involved. Take 序章 薄明光線, or 嗚咽's breakdown for instance, that's some composition that actually have soul

I miss them a lot too, didn't realize it until I started mixing up later MBHI songs (rabies) with some of the ones from LACK.CO :/

for Djent kei, the kings of "V-Styling Djentcore" did just have their mini shared, but I also don't think it is their "most djent" work

chemicalpictures got a reaction from platy in I've just started listening to Pentagon's WANDERLUST and I'm regretting already of us
lol, BAD BOY is the kind of uncompromising safe track that somewhat clicks with me. The auto tune reminds me so much of later  ZORO, and affective memory is a bitch.

But I did find the bass and drums lines (double pedal ftw) interesting, the rap vocals in the pre-chorus, and the classic vk bridge all gets me. Listen to it again some other time, maybe it will grow on you!

but yeeeah, we do agree that CRAZY TRIBE belongs to to the dump and it's a fuckin waste of hd space

Such a sweet song indeed! Nu Age is so, so good! I still think helios is their best work, but they had some real gems on early releases

and Megaman X itself is THE best game in the whole series. Ain't no X2, X3, X4... All of them are great, but X is  perfect in every sense of the word.

chemicalpictures got a reaction from Himeaimichu in Do any of you guys know what's the relation between Kasumi (ex. Gekijo Tenor, SMILE)
It most likely have something to do with management issues. He had Dear Dolce, full of barely known indie bands. Then all of a sudden he created AKA-ON, that hosted a few more bands. Every time things like this happens is because tax issues or funds problems. My bet is that Dear Dolce had too many bands for too little revenue, and AKA-ON was a way for him to still have a label on a more manageable level, and keep gekijo tenor releases in house.

Ahh. I always wondered, why his label, Dear Dolce, failed. I mean, they had some good bands on there (if you ignore the throwaway bands like Piece.) and two of them are still relevant today (Memento Mori, which went on to be Kuroyuri to Kage, and Reload, which became Grieva).
I guess at the time there wasn't as much support for the indie scene? Because most of the bands came from the deep Tokyo indie scene.

I was digging deeper and that's true, but he apparently is also a member of Unlucky Morpheus, and goes by the name of Tsuyoshi Denshirenji on his Touhou projects. On UM website, he is the leftmost on the picture. Searching his name's kanji (電子レンジ剛志) on youtube, I was able to find a bunch of songs he is the main vocal or shares the role with the female singer. But yeah, Icarus Cry seems to be his main Touhou band, and he does appear to have a managerial role in UM in some way

Actually, he's a member in Icarus's cry, which is a side project by guitarist Yuki. I think though that Kasumi may manage Unlucky Morpheus. He and Yuki have been partners since Yuki started XI ~Sai~ (Which went on to be Raddock), which was on Dear Dolce Records (Same record label that had Memento Mori and Reload.). I believe Icarus' Cry started after the breakup of Raddock, and was featured on the AKA-On compilation disc, if I'm correct.

@madygrain his solo is mostly a followup of baroque's Sug Life, which is undeniable his most sucessful work. Yeah, Akira and Ryo had their glory moments, but later baroque composition-wise and style direction is definitely all about kei. (Akira had a larger say on early baroque afaik, which was still influential as heck). Listen to Gakidou bridge, for example. From the top of my head, I can say bis, DoGinTHEPWO, EVE, DOPES, Canzel/UNiTE, xTRiPx, Called Plan, SuG, DIV, Downer, Purple Stone, auncia all have songs that draw inspiration from that structure. That goes without saying the dn'b baseline in vk songs, but that I kinda attribute to The Mad Capsule Markets or Dragon Ash. This is an interesting discussion, if I find time I'm thinking on writing a bit about this
