Status: Active Current Line-Up: Masha Scream - Vocals (Nargathrond) Aleksei ``Lesiar`` Agafonov - Vocals (ex-Butterfly Temple, Winterwoman, Nevid) Lazar - Guitars (Rossomahaar, Nargathrond) Kniaz - Bass (Rossomahaar, Nargathrond) Vlad - Synths, Drums (Rossomahaar) So Arkona is like my favoritest band ever, I recently saw them live for the first time (their first time in the US I believe (or at least first time in Seattle)) and I had a blast. Live they are incredibly awesome and Masha is so full of energy. Her English appears to be some what limited, she said something to the crowd but no one knew what she wanted us to do so we just all cheered. Pretty much every release of theirs is solid, some weaker than others but still pretty solid releases. Slovo was their latest release and their first to use a real orchestra. Personally my favorite is still Vo Slavu Velikim which was released in 2005. Though nostalgia probably skews my opinion because this was the first album that I had listened to from them back in the day. Anyway, to sum it up Masha is short and adorable IRL and I could totally go gay for her. Here's some YouTube videos. xDrKpYn-8u8 si4pvC0R3Z4 SgXlUxDGFvU Tt6_65LDZ60

wat? I think it'd be awesome if he played bass and sang, I wish more VK vocalist weren't afraid to play an instrument during lives.

I'll focus on Visual Kei for a quick second but VK is kinda its own hot mess. I feel like a broken record but many bands that start out as Visual only do it to give them a leg up and become noticed. Yet once they finally become noticed, signed to a major label they say FUCK IT and dress like normies. The music may or may not change but to some Visual Kei fans that is considered 'selling out'. Oh my Gawd, they don't dress like clowns anymore, SELL OUTS! I'll also say that perhaps it's just Visual Kei because I'm not going to lie but most of what I listen to that comes out of Japan is Visual Kei, but Visual Kei seems to be quick to pump out softer tunes that sell more to a wider audience especially when they start to become more recognized. Doesn't necessarily mean they are major or not, but you see this with the more popular indie acts. Some of them are kind of a mess, they shit out two or three ballads to appease the pussies and then shit out two or three heavy songs to appear the hxc kids. These are the bands that, if becoming major and signing to Warner or Sony, wouldn't surprise me if suddenly all they played was ballads and softer more accessible pop tunes. Overall though I believe it depends on a band by band basis, Japanese or not. Contract, producer and label can play huge a role in how they influence the band's new record. I have read stories of metal bands being signed to a major label like Warner and being incredibly upset by it. Then the moment the contract expires jumps ship because the label tried to have them create an album that would appease a larger audience outside of metal. I think this was a pretty notorious thing with metal bands during the 90s, mainly during that time when Nirvana showed up and killed metal and all everyone wanted to listen to was grunge rock. So labels tried pushing their bands in that direction since that was what was selling at the time. Anyway, I think I'm getting off topic. TL;DR - It just depends on the band and the label. Visual Kei bands to be more precise tend to be quick to change their style to appease to a wider audience but they don't have to be major to do it. Western bands, it can happen major or not but I don't see it as often as I do with Visual Kei.

Well let me just slightly disagree with you. Vidoll was poppish only because Jui liked it that way. Rame had basically nothing to do with Vidoll's ballads or pop-rock songs. So I highly doubt the three other songs will be any lighter than this. Ha! Perhaps Jui going off to do his boring solo career is a good thing after all! I have only really casually listened to Vidoll stuff when they were with UCP so everything after UCP I don't know who wrote or composed what and I can't even really name a song haha. If Rame is all about doing tunes that are more fun than sappy ass ballads that put me to sleep then Rame gets Arithmetica's seal of approval (not like that means anything haha).

Oh nice, Merrow-Sin- is my favorite Misaruka song, it would be awesome to hear a bootleg of it.
  14. TheBistroButcher666

What this guy said. They won't be my favourite by any means and I don't care about Rame (I never really liked Vidoll) but this preview is pretty tight. I wasn't expecting a heavy song to be honest. I thought it was going to be something popish not a ballad but something poppish like Vidoll's music Well I'm sure at least two of the songs on the maxi will be a Vidoll-esque pop song and a boring ballad
  15. TheBistroButcher666

Awesome! I hope that it has a lot of new songs on there! Looking forward to it.

When people talk about Firefox being slow, slow at what exactly? Loading websites or how much system resources it uses? My PCs have always had ample amount of operating resources to run FF fine but my Internet speed isn't any different in Chrome or Firefox (or in any browser for that matter). So what exactly are people talking about when they say Firefox is slow?
  17. TheBistroButcher666

Chrome, I use to incredibly loyal to Firefox back and can be super hipster about it and say I used Firefox before it was cool. However I ended up on the off chance of using Chrome for some reason or another AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK! I really don't have a problem with either though, I'm actually posting this from Firefox but I use Chrome at home. Downside to Chrome is that I haven't found an alternative to the FireFTP addon for Firefox but it's not a deal break for me.

    Oh my God vellaDonna.
  19. TheBistroButcher666

I use to play but not anymore, it doesn't have what I like that keeps me hooked. Feel free to add me, my name on there is Arithmetica but don't count on me logging on anytime soon. My boyfriend is really obsessed and plays on the his company's team.

I agree, at least from the Western fan perspective their following for such a long lasting band is pretty dismal. I hope the members continue on, I don't think Makoto will be going anywhere though he's caught up in a lot a couple of projects I believe. If not at least session bands.

Pretty much for years I have always used these $20 Philips Ear Buds and haven't had much problem with them until about a year. The company drastically lowered the price (they're about $11 now) however quality also suffered from it. In the past they would last up to two years but these new ones are falling apart in less than a month. No way am I rough with my things, they really just suck now. The wire connecting to your device is what is crap, it breaks even if you just look at it wrong. I have had to return every pair I bought when trying to replace my old ear buds and it was always from the wire breaking. Anyway, I decided to buy a pair of wireless Bluetooth headphones from Motorola for a little under $100. God damn no more wires and I do not regret it at all!!! I have had them for about a year now I think. The best feature is that they cancel out noise, it kind of sucks when I have them on at work and someone approaches my desk and I totally ignore them but on places like my express commuter bus, I can drown out that low life that's loudly bitching on their cellphone about CPS taking away their kids. The quality of them is also better than anything I have ever had, however I don't know if the noise canceling is what is playing a part in that. Other cool things, is I can control volume and change tracks from button controls on them and they also double as a Bluetooth headset, except the misc is incredibly sensitive so if I try to chat with someone outside they say it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel. Only good to use when at home or just a quiet indoor setting. For the most part I don't go for expensive high quality headphones, I have some hearing lost so I honestly can't tell the difference between expensive Sennheiser brand headphones or cheap shit. Okay sometimes I can but I do own a pair Sennheiser headphones I use at home. I tried to compare them with my wireless ones and I can't tell which is better. I guess the Sennheiser are more comfortable but I'm always running over the wire which is annoying. Also I hate Skull Candy, when I was in headphone limbo trying to find a new brand to replace the Philips brand ear phones I relied on for years, I tried Skull Candy. Overpriced piece of shit that broke just as quickly as the Philips ones. I want to remind people that I take care of my things, it wasn't like I was throwing them around, stepping on them, swinging them around, they just suck and broke on me.

Nothing on there is as good as Der König der Dunkelheit I'm a casual fan though but Der König is absolutely awesome and I'm patiently waiting for them to make something just as amazing as that song.

I remember Jimi had a blog entry about how Chemical Pictures just had to work in a store for a day or two promoting some brand and was given free costumes for their work. I think it depends really on what connections people have. Some get free stuff, some pay out the nose and others make the costumes themselves.

Ditto, doubt his marriage had anything to do with the break up. If anything breaking up probably gave him the opportunity to finally tie the knot since he probably won't be traveling as much.
