I'm right there with you guys too ;_; I'm all for converting people lol

Most bands I used to like are disbanding too... It's just how I said in my introduction post. But I've been finding more and more bands that interest me, so it helps. I started looking for more music when I noticed most of the artists I like were nowhere to be seen, and I managed to find some good ones. Plus I like finding new music.
About VK... yea, I'm in the same boat, it's hard, but j-indie isn't really different tbh. It's also sad how many people leave their bands because they have to work, because they can't live through music... So I'm trying to look around the forums to see if any of the "new" VK bands interest me, maybe doing so will help you too. I still haven't found any, but I probably should look harder. XD
YouTube also helps a lot. And Twitter.

UPDATE: ROOM CAN BE FOUND HERE
UPDATE #2: The usual Sunday session will now be held all day, 24 hours: an open, full session day!

In light of the loss of Plug.dj, people have been talking about alternatives, and many came up with this suggestion. It is very similar to Plug.dj, and perhaps it will grow out to be a fine replacement.

While still a tad wonky and perhaps 'unfinished', the website essentially works in the same way; you create an account, and you can join multiple music-rooms with the intention of streaming music from Youtube or Soundcloud. You can create playlists just the same, and since yesterday (2015.09.28) you have the possibility to create an account that is not linked to your Facebook or Twitter account, and exists solely on Dubtrack. I've done this and my username on there is Lestat. From the looks of it, this means that immediately after the demise of Plug.dj, the creators and developers of Dubtrack have decided to focus on forming a solid community that can replace its predecessors, and mean to seize this opportunity with swift and smooth transitions.

I went ahead and created a new room simply called 'Monochrome Heaven', (««« url!) as we are used to. You can join this room, but there is no moderation apart from its creator (me), yet, as I haven't assigned anyone to these roles yet. If the room continues to grow in size and members, moderators can be assigned, but wouldn't it be nice if we could run this operation without too much of a hassle? Music is meant to open up people's eyes, and in terms of discussion, it should be handled with care and ease — and most of all; it should not be taken too seriously. Of course everyone is anxious to share their opinion, but please be considerate of other members and how heavily your words might influence their view on certain artists or groups. Don't make attempts on changing someone's music taste, this is something they have to discover for themselves. Everyone wishes to enjoy their own chosen musicians, songs, full albums, or whatsoever. It's their choice! No one's taste is fact, no band or artist can be considered anything but what someone's opinion says about them, and this is all personal. So please, share your joy, excitement, sadness, and disappointment, but be aware of your words.

Now that that's out of the way, I highly recommend that we give this a chance. The design is something that isn't too difficult to get used to as it's not extreme or over-the-top, and while we have no dancing avatars (yet?), we can choose our own icon to display next to our names, and personalize our experience this way. Now, to set a few rules in this room like before, mostly copied from @CAT5's list of rules in our previous thread:

Remove yourself from the DJ-queue when you are AFK, or try not to be absent for too long (bathroom breaks are fine). Do not play songs over 7 minutes without asking for permission first. Do not repeat the same songs in one session. (You can play the same band, though!) Do not down-vote songs, please use the upward arrow, or click the 'love'-button to grab songs and add them to your playlist! We are a forum based around Japanese music, so try to adjust your playlists to this. Other music is fine, but remember our passion. Be gentle with each other. While discussions are fine, don't overdo it. Have fun, embrace the music, and deepen the bonds with your friends. Sundays are sometimes theme-days! Suggest your theme in this thread, and it will be taken in consideration. Here is a guide on how to use Dubtrack's current system. At the moment, the developers are working hard on design changes, bug-fixes, extra features, and a more easily accessible frame on how to operate the playlists and queues.

I think the correct question is what happened to Visual Kei? Because Japanese rock as a whole is fine and thriving, It's just that VK is extremely short lived to the point where most bands form and disband within a few years of time. It's the main reason why I drifted away from the scene and found love in other areas of Jrock. In my opinion it's just not worth getting involved and attached to these VK bands much less spend money on them when they could disband at the drop of a hat. VK just hasn't been the same since 2007-2008.

not much of a reader, but recently ran through Andy Weir - The Martian in a couple of hours. Great book, it's really unconventional in its theme and way of narration, but it was a great experience. Probably the most plausible SciFi story i've ever come across and a great read in general!

    10/10 would recommend

The Movie for it will come out shortly (by Ridley Scott), maybe that'll make reading the book redundant. I'm happy I read it anyways and still curious about the movie, reviews so far claim it's pretty good

lol... that's because the current forum was built upon the old TW.net archive from back in 2007, so there's a lot of older posts. There should be a huge time blank gap somewhere in the posts where we were on one of the other TW iterations that wasn't brought over.

Take your time to get up to speed

    Well, sort of...
I'm from the Tainted World times, but I haven't been around much ever since we became Toasted Waffles (lol) and then MH. People used to call me Hako, but you can call me whatever you want. I was really active for some time and then disappeared, so I guess no one remembers me lol. It was a long time ago. I EVEN LOST MY USERNAME'S BEAUTIFUL COLOR </3

Anyway. I stopped coming here due to life situations and then I kinda lost interest in VK bands, even the ones I used to follow, since some became really bad and some have disbanded. I rarely listen to any VK nowdays, but I'll listen to anything if I find it good, VK or no VK. I've been thinking that I maybe should try participating again, even if only to talk about artists that do interest me, since not everything is about VK in MH. Riiiight?
I mostly listen to japanese music, some korean indie, some music from other asian countries and some western stuff. I'm really bad at introductions and listing the artists I like. So please  just check this: http://www.last.fm/user/mimakinomoto
That account is 10 years old though and I don't use it as much as I'd like (I mostly listen to music at work and in my non-scrobbling device), so don't trust it much. That's why I just started a new account, but I haven't started scrobbling yet, so...

This is it. I hope I can be active again. Ah yeah, I'm from Brazil btw. Hi.

agreeing with the general notion on aimer. just want to throw in, that her kanno yoko collab and this TK collab are in my opinion probably the two best single pieces of music of the last 5-10 years. Not as in jrock, pop,  japanese or else. music, full stop. It's almost annoying how perfect these tracks are.

EDIT: sorry for derailing a bit, however back to topic: yes, a whole TK/Aimer album would be something i would consider donating internal organs and/or limbs for if necessary.

I love the aimer x TK collab! The entire single is great, though.

Agreeing with you about aimer in general. I love her voice, but at the end of the day, she's just a great voice and it takes working with certain other musicians to bring out the best in her. I would love for TK to produce an entire album for her. Her collab with Yoko Kanno was also brilliant. Some of her stuff with Hiroyuki Sawano is great too, but I find Sawano is at his best when he's NOT producing pop songs.
