On a related note, I just uploaded an AMV I finished editing last night using D'espairsRay's DEATH POINT song on Highschool of the Dead. I made it very much like an anime OP with the length cut down to 1:30min. It really feels like the song is made for a zombie apocalypse anime because of the tone and the lyrics, at least to me. A time long ago, when I had 56k modem, when Kazaa existed, I searched for a Rurouni Kenshin OST song, then search results came up as "Heart of Sword" sung by T.M.Revolution, my first thought was.... techno music? So I gave it a listen and the tune turned out to be pretty catchy. That was my gateway to the Japanese music realm.

Pacific Rim

This movie is an absolute awesome sauce. This is how a popcorn flick should be done. I came out of the theater with man tears. Go see it! I'm going for a 2nd watch.

I like PVs that have a nostalgia and timeless feel to them. No matter how much time passes by, it never feels old. I rarely see PVs like that nowadays. Siam Shade's Kumori Nochi Hare illustrates that perfectly.

Gazette's PLEDGE PV is a nice film noir that suits the song justice. Aside from couple technical flaws, some of the cinematography I thought was well done.

My favorite of all PVs is D'espairsRay's DEATH POINT. I love the gritty and the in-your-face type of feel they were displaying here. Usually those dirty film effects don't strike me as authentic and ends up cheesy but with the direction they went, it was put to good use. Showing staffs behind the scenes is a nice touch. By the way, this official youtube upload by UMJ is unforgivable.

Man of Steel

Never liked superman but watching this as a movie in general, I found it above average at best. Too many illogical moments and action sequences relying too much on set pieces.

White House Down

Straight up fun action flick. Want to watch a movie with your brain turned off and just enjoy the ride? This is for you.

I actually need some good recommendations. Something in the range of Akira, Hellsing, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, just about anything old (and with much better art than those pretty lover boy plastics nowadays). Or something considerably close to an action explosion in movies such as Redline.

The Devil is a Part-Timer!

Satan working for McDonalds? Concept can't get any better than that. It's a pleasant surprise seeing how enjoyable this series is. I expected this to be mediocre cuz it's got light novel written all over it but good thing I was wrong.

Absolutely! I'm glad I was able to go to their concert at least once before the disbandment.

I know Malice, 12012, ZI:KILL, and Hizaki but it's not something I listen to on a daily basis.

DEATH POINT is still my favorite song from them. It's also the best PV I've seen in general.

Here's the original of the first which that acoustic part comes in at 5:39 and ends at 6:09, no difference other than a faster rate. So basically, it's more of a fast picking(?) with some effects added on it.
