I'm not familiar with any of those, but I should probably check out 黒夢 at some point soon. 01. アヲイ - Requiem 02. SCREW - L'oiseau bleu 03. Alice Nine - 百合は青く咲いて 04. D機関 - D-Day 05. UNDEAD CORPORATION - PHANTOM ENSEMBLE 06. Variable Messiah - 劣悪遺伝子 07. MUCC - 嘆き鳥と道化人 08. HIM - In Joy & Sorrow (string version) 09. Alice Nine - NUMBER SIX. 10. Apocalyptica - Path Fuckin' love that アヲイ song!! オトギ's harsh vocals are so fucking awesome. I was also quite fond of the string rendition of the HIM song. I was such a huge fan of them when I was ~13, and am barely one at all these days (I no longer make a point to listen to any of their stuff), but that is still a nice song/rendition. There were plenty of other great songs to come after those ten, I discovered DELUHI's "LIVING DEAD" (despite years and years of having it in my iTunes library) which blew me away, also ran into a song by Ryuuha Mikado, which was also awesome.
  2. Music's pretty good, I'm willing to give them another chance, but I'm not a huge fan of the engrish. I mean, I know that engrish is very, very commonly used in VK, but for some reason, whenever some other VK band uses engrish, it doesn't bother me and sometimes it gets a laugh out of me, but whenever these guys do it (which is at least 90% of the time), it just plain annoys me. I dunno... But regarding this album, I'm hoping it's more engaging than their previous one. GRIMOIRE (if that's what it's called) just didn't capture my interest all that much. Although, I heard Last Relapse in a shuffle a few days ago and vaguely remember being impressed by it.
  3. I have decided to sell my copy of girugamesh’s CORE BEST compilation. For anyone that doesn’t know, this compilation contains a majority of songs released before they released “13’s reborn.” The release is live-limited for the band’s gravitation tour. This is a pretty secret release that not very many people outside of Japan know about. The item is in like-new condition, has barely been used, and I have only taken the discs out of the case ONE time, to import them to my computer. It also includes a bonus postcard with the cover logo on one side, and a QR code to this video (featuring commentary over live footage) on the other.

Just an update for anyone that cares: I will be making the tutorial after finals are done, so I'm expecting it to be up during the weekend before Christmas.

I think I'm finally able to listen to this song without becoming sad. I just can't get it out of my head. Plus, the video itself is great! But that thumbnail is fucking ridiculous.

Of course I decide to start watching Orange Is The New Black when I have schoolwork and tests piling up like crazy. What else would I do; actually study, get work done, and sequester myself from television, like a good student? pffft!

    01. darkest hour - With a Thousand Words to Say But One (142) 02. darkest hour - Convalescence (142) 03. NEGA - the Grave (131) 04. darkest hour - For The Soul Of The Saviour (129) 05. darkest hour - Sound the Surrender (127) 06. SUICIDE SILENCE - no Pity for a Coward (127) 07. the GazettE - 余韻 (126) 08. SUICIDE SILENCE - unanswered (119) 09. darkest hour - Doomsayer (The Beginning Of The End) (110) 10. SUICIDE SILENCE - The Price of Beauty (105) I had no idea that I've listened to "undoing ruin" and "the Cleansing" so many times. This is from a music library I've been building since early 2010. A lot of these songs come from albums that I dived into when my music library was a fraction of the size that it is now.

I'm sorry, "fun" tidbit? "Fun?" I don't think so ... Kidding, not that it matters much. While I'm sure that US editions have sold considerably well in the past, I'm also sure that a larger number of us in North America either get the original Japanese versions since there's more artwork (and the special edition cases aren't cheaply made), or we buy it digitally. So as long as Sony distributes on iTunes (like they did 輪郭 and Sustain the untruth), everything should be fine. However, I'd be surprised if Sony themselves distributed a physical copy for North America.

OMFG I need a full version of Phenomenon already!

The atmosphere of this song is just perfect!

Do I like the rain? I love the rain! Are you happy? With life in general?

For albums, definitely try out 哀愁のアンティーク. 是空 and 朽木の灯 seem to be fan favourites. For an idea of what they sound like these days, check out ENDER ENDER and 故に、摩天楼. I'm ONLY recommending them for observational purposes, you may not like them AT ALL. XD Also, I really like 流星 and ガーベラ from 極彩 (2006). They're a bit different from the 2004 and earlier sound, but still nice. Also[2], I think this should be moved to the music recommendations thread. never mind
  16. Nice song! Nothing groundbreaking, but still not bad. I also really like the filming locations.
  17. I've answered a similar question before. I just buy the music. That's all! When I was a teenager though, I was super into merch; every shirt I had was a band shirt. I also used to have band posters all over my walls until I was 20. There was a brief period of time when I would have been interested in getting a band phone charm when I was 18. Nowadays, I do not like the idea of having "band merch" - I don't care for over-branding. And I would never waste my money on a fucking polaroid.

I don't think their artwork can get worse than Emotional【KARMA】TYPE B. That was fucking horrendous!
  19. Seimeisen

They sort of remind me of Marilyn Manson's "Smells like Children" ... especially the second one.

  21. I've only heard MARMALADE CHAINSAW, but some of those other titles are making me laugh. Also, I dyslexicly read "Reddish My Chainsaw" as "Riddish My Chainsaw" .
  22. I need to hear this ASAP

I was quite bored several months ago and made a collage cover for the band's self-titled album: Not sure why I waited so long to upload it... I was gonna re-do it, get more pictures and make sure there was an even amount for each member, but that was around the time that karma cut himself and I though, "...yeah, I don't wanna scroll past that image again."

lol I know, 空中ブランコ is not a winter song at all, but I fell in love with that song around Christmas time, that's the only reason it counts for me. 雪蛍 is a good one, too! I got into all the pre-ammonite material around the same time, so the album cell. does evoke the same "winter nostalgia" that Chandelier does.
  25. Seimeisen

The lyrics are not Christmasy at all (I'm pretty sure the song was used to promote jewellery), but it is one of my "winter songs," plus it brings back memories of Christmas 2010, and experiencing my very first hangover a few weeks before that time lol. Also, it was first released as a single in December, so I guess it's still appropriate... I think this song may be Christmas-related, though... it also evokes memories of when Alice Nine was great band that I was always hyped about Yeah, I don't have much music that's technically "Christmasy," it's usually just music that evokes memories of past Decembers. I listen to something or discover it during that month and years later, I'm reminded of Christmas. Full-length album examples include: I started listening to Dir en grey's 鬼葬 and Opeth's watershed around Christmas-time in 2008. To this day, both albums remind me of that time.
