Loving that questionnaire on the disc interior but I'm really wondering about that 29% of Japanese people who responded with "Hell Yeah" when asked about their thoughts on necrophilia though 👀

I buy mostly CDs and the occasional DVD but I do have a few official books/photo books in my collection as well. Though tapes make my collector parts tingle I'm too afraid of getting my hands on one because 1. I don't want to bother buying a good quality cassette player and 2. Fuck me sideways they can be expensive. I plan on getting some band shirts and posters in the future to replace my western ones which feel outdated to me (except my Queen one, they're truly timeless). I especially need to tear down my ancient Drake poster (and maybe throw away my CD if it wasn't a +1 to the collection) I would only buy cheki and flyers if I was there in person at the live event as a memento, though.

I nearly fell out of my damn chair when I saw Miyavi being mentioned in a currently trending Buzzfeed article of all things https://www.buzzfeed.com/mikespohr/amazing-performances-by-nonactors ^THIS RIGHT HERE

Well, I made the blood type topic so I might as well share my thoughts on its western counterpart, astrology! I'm a Virgo, which fits me pretty well. According to how some sites describe us, we are basically smart ass Virgins, which makes me feel a little called out. I am indeed a rational, analytical and shy person who plans things out and doesn't like caving into whims. This one site says that Virgos don't open up easily at first meeting and man, that is very true for me. It's a little spooky that Virgos are known for liking reading and that's one of my main lifelong hobbies. Though if I was another sign I guess I would be shocked at how my sign would've predicted my love for VK or Dance or something else. The only thing that is extremely out of place is that Virgos are known as perfectionists and trust me, I am probably the last person anyone would describe as a perfectionist. I never remember the things I read in the horoscope so I can't say if they've ever predicted my future or anything...

Some people describe me as weird but most people only see the shy side of me and think of me as a very average, reserved person. IDK, I always find that people who describe themselves as weird are some of the most absolute boring-ass normie mfers I've ever met ("OMG I ate this entire large pizza by myself, I'm like so weird!" Like no, eating food is not a personality trait. I dunno what to tell you but you're just fat, Becky) so I like to think of myself as a normal, not weird person lest I let someone down with my more demure traits. Throughout my life I've experienced being the well-behaved model student everyone respects, the outcast who got bullied a lot, and a non-existent entity so I'm not really sure if I'm 100% "unusual" or not. I've been a good normie, I've been bad weirdo, and I've been nothing. Maybe that's the unusual aspect of it

We really are similar, huh? Even down to having punky blood 😤✊

Made sure to search MH and I’m shocked that a VK forum hasn’t talked about one of Japan’s favourite personality codifiers: Blood Types. If you haven’t heard of blood type theory, you can quickly scan the Wiki or read an article but basically it’s the belief that one’s personality is partially influenced by the type of blood that runs in your veins. It’s like astrology in the sense that it’s a rough outline for what you’re like as a person (also it’s not scientifically proven). I’m a B-type! B+ to be precise. I found out in my senior year biology class when we took samples of our blood to find out our blood-types in order to learn more about them. I was the only B in the whole room Everyone else was either O or A. B-types are said to be creative, passionate, flexible and curious. Our downsides are that we’re said to be selfish, uncooperative and irresponsible. I think this sort of fits me? I can be quite passionate, expressive and strong-willed. I get called based all the time, hehe. Plus flexible, yes, I am definitely not the anal A-type at all. I’m so far from being a perfectionist, which is what A-types are mainly categorised as. The issue is that B-types are described as outgoing and I’m really shy around strangers and generally reserved with most people. Also, no one’s ever called me selfish or anything like that, my parents included (I’ve been criticised for other things). Especially irresponsible? People have looked up to me as a shining example of conscientiousness and studiousness… Anyway, there seems to be a decent amount of B-type guys in the VK scene, so if it means that I’ve got that same punky spirit in me then I’m happy to be a B-type! Some of my favourite B-type bandomen are Gokimi (Tokyo Heroes, Guru Guru Eigakan), Yoshiyuki Shimizu (Shinjuku Gewalt, Cosmo-Shiki), and Kenjirou Murai (Cali Gari). Final tidbit: did you know that your race impacts what kind of blood type you’re likely to have? Where I originate from (Central Asia), B-type is the majority blood type. For white people, there are many O-types. In Japan, A-type is the most common. What’s your blood type, MH peeps? If you know it, that is. You can also elaborate if you're + or -. Do you think it fits your personality? And which of your favourite bandomen do you have a blood type in common with?

Thanks to whichever mod/admin changed the title, I legitimately forgot that the English word "sort" existed and that "ordering your CDs" can mean something else whoopsie

It's amazing what quarantine boredom and 5 minutes in MS paint can do
-
Ooh, I usually never segregate my western CDs from my Japanese ones but maybe I'll try using your system for my next ordering! Especially keeping in mind ordering CDs by the same artist chronologically, I usually just end up putting which one I like most closest to the front when I do my artist name format

By the title I’m not referring to storage methods but how you like to sort your collection if you do so. I love asking this question with CD collectors! Even though some don't actually have a particular order they use (as I've learned from asking). I’m wondering how MH peeps like to sort their CDs, specifically because of the different ways to order Japanese versus English CDs. For example, I normally sort my collection by artist name through the standard Alpha-numeric to Script system: Special characters -> Numbers -> Alphabet (A-Z)-> Hiragana (A-Wa) -> Katakana (A-Wa) -> Kanji (A-Wa). However, I like to “play” with my collection by sorting them in different orders. Here’s how I’ve arranged them before: By artist name, purely phonetically (Japanese mixed with English names, so, for example, 蜉蝣 is next to Kanye West) By album name, Alpha-numeric to Script By oldest to the newest album release date (purely by the date I see on the back of the CD) By newest obtained to the one I have had the longest (I used to order it like this until I learned how to read and look up Japanese) By artist genre, generic to specific (Like this: Electronic -> Electro -> Synthpop -> Piko-Piko) By album genre, same as above. "generic to specific" is just done arbitrarily by how popular I think a genre is when I'm already as specific as it gets By my personal favourite to least favourite How about the rest of you guys? Do any of you use a system I haven't tried yet, because I wouldn't mind trying a new order for my collection!

Any OGs here remember the absolute Diru classic, "Sea of Retards"? 😤

I will never forget when a friend of a friend who modelled for Dada's (of Velvet Eden) fashion line started spreading rumours that he's abusive, fat, and gave her aids when she slept with him lmaooooo Kamijo getting plastic surgery to look more white because he loves France that much? IDK what's up with that rumor, he still looks pretty damn East Asian to me. I've heard as many "Mana is gay" rumours as "Mana has a secret wife" rumours and I would like the rumour mill to get their shit together and pick a single narrative, please. At least "Mana is transgender" is a consistent one. Also this one rumour I found on a defunct fansite that said that the reason Yoshiki added Japan to X's name is because American X had successfully sued X Japan for millions because they had the same band name and Yoshiki swept it under the rug to keep face. But I have heard of stupid lawsuits like that in the music industry so I actually kinda believed it until I looked it up myself .

The best may be only Eiji and takken acoustic cover band (I laughed hard at their recordings, they were like "why we are not popular?.." "why we are not...", and so on)

Low-key my anthem. Original version is great but Pura's cover adds so much to it.

†Яi¢К. Don't be fooled, the i and K are actually special characters. i = Cartesian unit vector and K= Kappa [Greek Letter]

When I was growing up, dance was one of the constant sources of activity in my life. I mostly learned choreography in contemporary and hip-hop styles, and I was also trained the ballet basics as well. Unlike the gym or jogging, there's just something about it that makes me feel really engaged as a person. I'd say it's maybe the art and performance part, because you practice for an end goal; to be able to show everyone your hard work. Nowadays I just go for hikes in my spare time, which is a nice way to get some fresh air. I stopped doing dance in university and for some really weird reason, after all this 'rona stuff, I got an inverted version of the freshman fifteen?! I'm down fifteen pounds, lightest I've been a long while. I did spruce up some of my eating habits such as smaller portions and carb cutting but damn, that was nowhere near as painful as my last successful diet.

No matter how hard I try, I can't get over this video of Ryutarou using a FUCKING POTATO PEELER to skin a mango wtf And then he tries to cut the mango in half lmaoooo

He's with this giant agent/management empire called "Endeavor". They own Miss Universe, if you wanna know what I mean by big. He's specifically under the WME umbrella that manages such musical talent as Adele, Camilla Cabello and Tyler the Creator (one of my personal rap favs)! I found him under the Y section just to be sure. X Japan is also under the WME, possibly the only Japanese band with this Hollywood agent company. Sometimes I forget that X was big enough for him to have that kinda dough. I imagine he brute forces his way into these wacky anime cross-overs through such money and connections. Yo, you can even book him under his page! I am not responsible for anyone who wants to abuse that information...

Welcome aboard! I hope you have a good time and feel at home 'around here. I really like X too, I had a hide avatar just a few days ago.
