Man this thread gives me flashbacks to when I was super into... Fla$hbacks. Thanks folks, I'll be here all night. Anyway, I also used to listen to KOHH as well. Not anymore though, as I got deeper into VK my taste for all kinds of Hip-hop fizzled out greatly. The only J-hip-hop artist I still listen to is Dotama, and that's because his flow is just something else. I don't even think it's possible to have this kind of flow in English, merely because of intrinsic linguistic differences. Also idk his voice is irritating at first but it grew on me hard. His releases have always been pretty solid these past years so I'm glad to have him in my library.

I went back to work today, which opened for the first time in the past month. In one 4 hour shift, one girl paid for a 30$ sweater with nothing but quarters, one lady made everyone wait 5 minutes in line while she phoned her sister to ask if she wanted an item, Karen asked to speak to the manager, I had to redo a 40+ item transaction 'cause the buyer didn't mention that they had status and one lady nearly cut one of our girls by smashing a glass vase by her feet. If buying VK shiet didn't make me broke, I swear...

I know a lot of people think baths are gross, but I take them way more than showers. Nothing beats a good bubble bath and none of y'all can tell me otherwise. I take baths at night, so I can go to bed all clean and not dirty my sheets faster than usual. Sometimes my bubble bath has a nice scent that helps me go to sleep, too. When I do shower, it's either in the morning or afternoon.

Yeah, I don't talk to her anymore for a reason. She was really hard on the social justice stuff, to the point of it being basically offensive to minorities (me again, when she said I am merely a "tanned white person"--like OK, cool, I wish the people who've called me out for being "too dark" to be white or who asked me "what I am" held the same view). I understand that there are harmful stereotypes surrounding East Asian people appearing as indistinguishable and as the same, but even if I was perpetuating the stereotype, name calling does not help anyone nor their beliefs look credible. Oh... I wish I could've told her that before I cut ties.

I've got mild facial agnosia, which has made being a VK fan really awkward, because I have been accused of being racist because I can't recognise some bandomen in different outfits or hairstyles, or even recognise their faces in general. One girl who I am longer on speaking terms with said to me "What, do you think all Asians look the same?! Are you racist!?". Not a lot of things really get to me, especially being called racist when I'm not... But that did. It really hurts in all honesty because I love VK and I spend extra time that other people don't trying to being able to discern and learn bandomen's faces because I care about them as people. It sucks. It really does. With some, they have such a distinct face shape where I can easily tell them apart. With others, I can be a fan for years and still not be able to tell the vocalist from the guitarist unless they are holding their instruments or are colour coded. I always have names floating around in my head but I have a hard time putting them to faces--the inverse of how everyone I've met is bad with names but good with faces. People in my everyday life might think that I don't care about them because I confused them for someone else but that's totally not the case! That's why I try to tell people about it. I'm thankfully such a laid back person that I'm immune to anxiety, but I have had my tackles with depression. Runs in the family, I do believe. I'll spare you the details but it got bad. I probably wouldn't be writing this post in another timeline, if you catch my drift. But I'm glad I'm still breathing. Really, despite all the craziness of the world right now. I got through that mini-black hole that sucked the life out of me through the inside out and here I am--alive. Feeling. And feeling pretty good at the moment. I hope I can remember these thoughts and memories if the black hole ever swallows me up again.

It's not that rare, but nothing would be cooler than adding an enigmatic MM item to my collection--like Sans Logique. I saw it go on sale yesterday for 5 000¥ (~50$ American), which is not bad (edit: its auction price has escalated to 10 000¥ so scratch that). What actually is that rare is the special promo Après-Midi E-Style tape. Literally like 50 copies or sum shit, given out as promo material (for Shockwave '96 I think). Forget the price, the damn thing hasn't seen for sale in years. Only 3 copies have been sighted/accounted for so who knows what happened to the rest. I've always enjoyed Shinjuku Gewalt's Kaizou tepu a lot, but last I saw it it was on Yahoo-oku for 12 000¥ (~120$) Also that 54 000¥ (~540$) Laputa demo tape @Cantavanda showed me. It's not about the money, it's about sending a message.

I was looking for a SHAZNA album cover today when I found out that Winter's Review by SHAZNA was used as the Ending theme for Japanese dub of The Rugrats Movie?!?! Now that's what I call unexpected. I saw the Rugrats movie as a kid and seeing SHAZNA play over Rugrats footage is so surreal for me.

Man, I had the dream of my life last night. There was this record store attached to a school and I had enough free time to pay a visit, so I went on in. Browsed around, saw some cool stuff but then I got to the "Japan" section and nearly creamed my pants. Man who ran the store had TASTE. No Hatsune Miku. No full racks taken up by only Perfume and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. Just two racks of assorted (mostly old schoo)l VK CDs. Some were real albums with covers I could recognize, like Macabre (Diru) or Children (Rouage) and others were completely made up by my brain (saw this Zilch one with pink and white polka dots and the hide with spread beaver logo with a heart inside it lol). So I did what my unbridled subconscious would wont to do and bought them all. I spent like... Over 200$ at once? Possibly 300$. I remember just flipping through them all, overwhelmed with joy, knowing that my dream came true! Then I woke up and realized that my dream did not come true. I'd prefer to focus on the positives, like the fact that I did not just spend 300$ on a whim as quickly as that, haha! I hope I can have a dream like that again...

These teaser announcements barely affect me anymore. I don't even think I can even physically believe in the new album being real anymore 😓

Basically all of Dir en Grey tbh even their band name is an amalgam of "cool sounding white people words" The romance squad (Gackt era Malice Mizer, LAREINE, Kamijo solo, etc.) weren't exactly fluent in French, nor did actual French people proof-read their stuff. It's strangely endearing? I mean, they're doing their ganbare best, I can't fault them for trying. ju te veux, the French monologue in Mayonaka, some LAREINE songs like this one... I'm strangely touched.

If I could hang out with anyone, it’d be whichever core member of the MM gang who’d take me (no vocalists, also I would play a Tennis match or go to Mainatron Craze Space with Kami if he was still here with us). With Mana-sama, I’d want to eat his fabled curry while watching whatever weird European Art film he wants to show me in VHS collection. With Közi, I’d sit down with him in a cafe in Paris, just talking about life and art while we drink too much coffee and overeat croissants. Or maybe we’d go fishing together, except I haven’t fished since I was seven so I’ll be absolute crap at it. I don’t think he’d mind though. And with Yu~ki, I’d want him to do Japanese calligraphy with me or just watch him draw or make jewelry while we chat.
