Yess, I think generally only fans will really think this is ok. Even if you think it is ok, to post this on your artist account shows complete lack of sense. Not supporting them anymore, if ever see a member of them again going to ask about this too haha. Vk is just uggggh sometimes🙀💦

Imo it's unfair to the Japanese to clump them with the demented minds of bangyas.

According to the girl, she had sex with Yoshiatsu and he took off the condom mid-fuck. Girl gets pregnant, tells him she's planning to get an abortion and asks him to pay for it and Yoshiatsu, being the gentleman that he is, ghosts her. Then the girl has to ask a male friend to come with her getting the abortion because apparently women in Japan can't go through an abortion alone, the supposed "baby daddy" has to be there too to consent. Here you can find the screenshots of the convo.

PVs that feature white people awkwardly walking around with blank expressions on their face [bad stage direction? Like seriously, make a facial expression guys] while the band either acts edgy or goofy in the background [it's jarring in a funny way] Behaviour archetypes in general. Real sick of needing one cute member, a cool/edgy member, a normal member, a cloud coo-coo lander, etc. per band, we can have multiple per band or none and it'll still be cool Inside the part of song, the English is created for purpose of great surprise for the reason of the japanese being all too much used to the people it is Bäñð Ñāµ3§ þĥæť løôk lïkê 5hīß~日本語が必要はない~ Going full goober as soon as they go major Obligatory looks like "wedding outfits" Lyrical tropes like "瞳の中で”, ”目に映る”, ”新しい世界”, God I could go ON. They're like the VK version of "Tonight, tonight, I'm gonna love you baby"

The most important things to me were the complexity of the music and the juxtaposition of heavyness with beautiful things(melody and visuals). The unique sound of 90s VK has specific musical qualities that define the genre and those are the things I enjoy about it mainly. Have no interest in the newer generation of クソガキ who have no knowledge of vks roots but just use the image along with djent, metal core, nu metal etc. Have sadly met tons of guys like that. But of course if thats what you like, that is cool, different strokes for different folks.
Love the pre-vk having a name roots bands as well, lots have become friends and it is always fun to hear how they all where all mixing western influences at the same era though in different parts of Japan. Those older guys who were all crazy and real rockers, not menhera appeal host looking things are infinitely cooler to me ❤️

It's hard to describe but I love the overall atmosphere/mood I get from listening to (most) visual kei, that is what drew me in back in the day. A weird clashing and mixture of various influences that kinda sound terrible in theory but somehow it clicks perfectly with me. Phased post-punky leads over thrash riffs that sound like they're coming from an amp used by a run-down punk band, ridiculous bass lines, clever or odd drumming, melodramatic vocals often made by singers who would have no business aiming for stuff like that... I know, this is a picture super-specific to just one slice of vk, but this is what first came to my mind when thinking about this.

By the way it's so strange, I can almost always instantly get on board with any old-school vk band drawing influences from old Western post-punk/goth/metal music (and I myself do love those genres), however when newer bands play music influenced by more modern extreme or djenty metal/core-ish genres, it's usually a turn-off for me except for a few examples (even though, again, I love those genres otherwise). Dunno what this has to do with anything, I just thought I'd write it down, lol.

Oh, and it doesn't hurt if the clothes/costumes are killer too.

From 2007 to 2011 I played guitar in the band Dark Cherry, formed by a group of friends. We made kinda poppy emo/alternative rock/metal with electronic elements (implicitly influenced a bit by D'espairsRay, Abingdon Boys School, L'Arc and stuff like that). Home-recorded a bunch of crappy sounding demos, studio-recorded two better sounding singles and played a few dozen gigs mostly locally, it was fun.

From 2006 to this day I'm in a hobby/"just for fun" music project with my vocalist friend (who is also ex-Dark Cherry) under the alias The 21st Cherry Boys (the name came from BUCK-TICK's song, lol), or T21CB for short. We record stuff at home, in totally random styles that come to our mind at the moment. But usually it's some kind of silly weird pop/rock music coupled with electronics (for a while a friend of ours joined too, he played the cajon). We're doing a 12-month single release campaign this year, tho dunno how far we'll get due to the virus scare, lol.

We also had a short-lived project Sunshine Demons with the guitarist cousin of said vocalist friend. We recorded an EP in 2012, kind of a mixture of punk, post-hardcore and pop-rock. We also have an album's worth of unreleased and mostly unfinished tracks recorded during 2018-2019, which we are slowwwwwly working on getting finalized. So far it seems like it will have somewhat of a Latin flair in the music, and it will be a concept record telling a story about cowboys, crime, ghosts, revenge,...stuff like that, lol.

From 2007-ish onwards I'm also doing some solo stuff here and there under the name JigsawJohnny, but I'm super lazy so I haven't recorded that much music. Genres range from noise, industrial to hardcore, death metal, post-punk, whatever I feel like. My latest release was a dark ambient record with a dystopian cyberpunk concept last Halloween.

Most of the music that isn't totally terrible to listen to for even those involved can be found on Bandcamp.

I was in a few local bands and some of our sets got decent turnouts (bare in mind we lived in a small city) but I was always late to join bands so I could never really make their sound my own. The best group I was in was called 'Flock North' and we played political fuelled rock...I had no interest in politics so it was a bit like how The Smiths sang about meat being murder but Morrisey was the only vegetarian.

As for now I'm a small time hobbyist producing lofi hip hop and Breakcore although I did have a breakcore track released on a compilation a few years ago which is my crowning achievement. I'm trying to incorporate VK somehow but I'm still finding the best way to do it.

There's a lot of money involved in the production of k-pop so that it sounds good or whatever, but the artists suck lol. Most of them are actually really bad singers, but they fix it in post. So yeah, I don't think it necessarily sounds bad, but it's definitely overrated.

If you can easily get the music in a legal way, then I don't really see the point of downloading it illegally. It will only hurt the musicians.

Ever considered that maybe not every bandoman is a high school dropout without a real job on the side? Just saying.

How would it be hypocritical? I am talking exclusively about digital releases, I straight up said I condone it when it comes to physical releases?

I honestly don't know what there is to gain by white knighting some high school dropouts rockstar dreams in the year 2020. The world is in lockdown, the polar caps are melting; I think if you're making art for profit in this age then you can fuck the right off and get a real job, even if it's visual kei where half of the appeal of this niche comes from the weird economy that sustains it.

I think they were already around when I stopped caring about vk, and I didn't like them very much back then. But might give them a new shot.

Thank you! I forgot to say that I like Diru very much, some days ago I was listening to DUM SPIRO SPERO and thinking "wow, this guys are really so good, how come I haven't listened to this album in such a long time?".

I think I tried some MUCC back in the day and I only listened to their softer songs. If they have anything heavy, I might go after it.

For the other bands, thank you very much for the recommendations, I will try to look them all up.

About new Trivium songs: when they released Catastrophist my first impression was of a weak song with songwriting between SITS and TSATS. Good drumming and some nice riffs, but still kinda boneless like the whole SITS album. Then I listened to it again and again and it grew on me. I know think it is very good and much better than SITS, but still something is missing. And just the same with the last single they put out. I guess it will be a good album overall, just not one of the best like Ascendancy, Shogun and The Sin and the Sentence.

    Hello there, folks.

Between 2010 and 2014 most of the music I listened to was Japanese, especially visual kei. After some time I started diving into metalcore, and now my favorite genre is prog metalcore, my favorite bands are Trivium (this one isn't prog but I love them since 2014), Northlane, Periphery, Polaris etc.

But in the last days I have been revisiting some songs from D'espairsRay and -OZ- and I wondered what new visual kei bands would please my ears. I want you guys to fill me in the new visual kei metal bands. Back in the day my favorite band was DELUHI (I still hold them dearly!), and I also liked very much D'Ray, which I already mentioned, ALSDEAD (but nowadays I think they were kinda bad musicians haha), BORN (same as ALSDEAD...), the GazettE (I still like them), GALEYD (still like them), the more metalcore-ish phase of girugämesh, some of lynch., MEJIBRAY, some DEATHGAZE tunes... Well, I think that right now you  guys know what is the type of music I like. Please let me know what is hot right now!

Those places in PVs are just rental spaces available for anything you want to do with them. Not part of any religious thing so technically they are not really churches, just spaces used mainly for marriage to match the western ideal. Just search チャペル レンタルスペース and you can find lots of the places used in PVs on spacemarket website.
