  1. I've been listening to Merry's oldest releases (for science) and a thought struck me, that if I had to listen to only one band for the rest of my life, it'd be them. I honestly don't think I could get bored of their music.

SO, a question to the masses, what band would take that spot for you?

If you're feeling wild choose one album or even ~le'gasp~ one song.

    Mine's as follows:

    Band: Merry

Album: MUCC - Shion / girugamesh - girugamesh

    Song: Kashiwa Daisuke - april.#02

I actually went to one of Gustavo Dudamel's concerts when I was a kid. It was fantastic!

    Also, that sucks to hear about your sunglasses ;-;

oooh that's amazing! I used to go to classical concerts/shows pretty regularly years back, I really miss it.

the last one I saw was I think Yann Tiersen? and dude was hiiiigh XD

  3.

also, I drowned my $400 Maison Martin Margiela sunglasses in a kayaking incident this Thursday... other than that, it was a great trip! /laughsbutalsocries

I'm oscillating between "it's just a material thing" and "I'll never have such a perfect pair of sunglasses EVER again kill me now".

  4. First of all, sorry I'm so late, I've just come back from a week-long holiday with very limited internet T-T;;

I will let the Wikipedia answer that one xD (Just follow the Japanese/Kanji titled ones, I think. It's kind of confusing ^^; There's also a random spin-off game in there. It's completely unrelated to the main game, but has the same characters [from the original version] and a very different story.)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakuoki#Video_games

    (A lot ^^;)

I actually kept meaning to ask you about the Hakuoki SSL: Sweet School Life. What is it? Have you played it? Is it good???? I've seen images from this all over the place and was curious ever since I've realised those are legit artwork not some fanart~

Interesting. Well, the game is "technically" broken into two parts for every guy's route.

But you can play one route in it's entirety without, idk, exiting to the menu, even despite the divide?

Damn, I'm tempted to buy it now and play it X'D

I'm not saying go and buy it but go and buy it  Naah, jkjk, but if you really like the series I think at some point it'd be worth it to experience the extended version ^^ And then we can go back to squealing together~

Yes. There is a manga for it

    Color me interested!! XD

Also, on an unrelated note, at least unrelated to Hakuoki, I've found a new Korean mobile VN that's pretty good. It's called Mystic Code (what is with Koreans and Mystic titles lol). It's voice acted, has great art, it's not a romance but a murder mystery with pretty people. The only downside is that it requires some micro-transactions to get the good endings 😕 I wish apps would just charge upfront for the content instead of those underhanded tactics ehh~ At least this one has some quality I don't mind paying a bit for. But I think you said you don't have Android????

  5. Wow but is the intro tune giving me 90's disco vibes which as a 90's kid I of course, love

I like the song, but I'd have really loved it with less autotune. Yuki my dude, you really don't need it wth. I'm not big on live versions of songs, but I'm curious about this one. I live for the high notes in the chorus.

also LOL the "rap" footage and the cringy wooo footage

Hope they'll find their unique sound and won't just become a ONE OK ROCK clone.

also wth my CD's help up at customs T-T

I can do flavoring, but there's something I don't like about the texture and having it in my mouth.

Reminds me of biting the skin off your fingers, and what you get is legit the same texture as a coconut.

    I'm good.

Maaaaan, I've been to Milan last year and they have those water-fountains with coconut pieces set at street vendors' and they are so delicious, filling and refreshing????

I love coconut everything ❤️ minus the coconut water das disgusting

That's your prerogative, just saying, it'd be much easier to read and it's a simple press of the enter key every 5 to 6 sentences. 😊

it's a random thread tho, you wanna get ungrammatical and unintelligible, this is the place I feel like?

My mood has been cratering for the last two weeks and it's getting to the point where people around me can tell. I've untangled some of the reasons why I've been unhappy and it has to do with a lot of the well-meaning things people advise me to do that I take the wrong way. They always come off as suggestions for what to do but how are you suggesting solutions to the problem I haven't explained yet? I'm mentally exhausted when I come home and I do not want to do more programming, fix computers on the side, sell weed, take even more classes after I've finished grad school, earn a license, or start my own business. Those aren't answers; those are distractions. I don't have faith in the capitalist system, so I don't want to look for a "new job".  It'll be the same bullshit as the old job in a different sector for as long as programmers are underappreciated and treated as simple code to caffeine converters. I don't like working to line someone else's pockets, and the assertion that one must work for a living is troubling, and also at odds with the depths of laziness some coworkers descend to daily. You can't tell me work harder to find purpose and be happy when business analysts are laughing their asses off on their third Starbucks break of the day. I just gave a 40 minute presentation I didn't feel like giving and certain team members fell asleep, and I got so dejected the secretary at the front sent an e-mail to my manager and her boss because I couldn't find it within me to bother. In fact, I find the assertion that one must better themselves to find happiness at all is full of troubling assumptions about my values. I work hard and I'm not happy, working harder makes me unhappier, and when I come home I'm a zombie and I don't want to do anything. I haven't listened to new music outside of the mix tapes I've been given. Haven't played any new games since I bought em. My Switch is docked up to my TV and remains untouched. Don't even want to watch YouTube videos and that requires me to only pay attention. I'm kinda just walking through life trying to make it to the next day waiting for it to end. Depression is a bitch. If you are wondering why I've been quiet these last few weeks and not writing or doing much of anything, that's why.

I've...gone through a similar thing a while back. I've had history with depression going back years, and on a rational level I knew that it was depression speaking but hell if you can do anything about it even if you realise what's going on right. I like my work so I was working like 12 hours a day, feeling both accomplished and resentful that others were doing less and they dared to have a life. I ended up on pills (again) and when those ran out I've become essentially a high-functioning alcoholic so I feel like I'm the LAST person who should advise anyone on how to cope with capitalism.... YET here I am.

How I deal with this is, letting go, essentially. You care about the good of the company but fuck if they care about you. Sure, do your job right, but don't think about it as a way to help the company, just as a way to personal accomplishment? Use the job as a way to learn new skills, earn new experience, basically to get new tools for the rest of your life.

When I entered the workforce, so to speak, I had my head full of "do what you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life" and then I met this girl who told me: I love Russian, that's why I decided not to major in it in college and it lit a lightbulb over my head. It doesn't work for everyone, turning your passion into your job.  For me, work is work, but I draw a hard line after coming home.

/I'm also, surprise surprise, drunk atm so take this with a grain of salt. I really hope I didn't totally misunderstood you and actually accidentally insulted you or sth =.=/

you know how your favourite songs are never long enough or loud enough???

nooooo it's not a bad thing @Gesu!!!! you just gotta play the song again and again until you hate both the song and yourself at a volume that's probably medically dangerous for your ears but YOLO ya kno

Basically England raised the university prices from like £4,000 to £9,999 a year a few years ago. When you enrol into university you automatically take a loan. You start to pay off this essentially invisible debt once you earn over 24k a year (I think) and the payments get automatically deducted from your salary. It's a small amount like £100 a month, something like that. If you haven't paid it in 30 years (I think²) it disappears. To summarise the government has played itself.

Yeah, I was about to ask what percentage of people actually gets to the stage of paying off the debt. This system sounds like an outright incentive for tax fraud. I'm sure that declaring lower income to evade paying off this debt would be rampant in my country lol

$0 debt is great, but to maintain a credit score at it's highest, you need to play their stupid game here in the USA, and spend a little/pay it off soon.

This entire system sounds over-complicated (at least as far as I can even understand it).

I know that in my country it is said, that banks look more favourably at people who had taken at least one loan before and are paying it off all in time, than people that have never had a loan in the first place, but it's hardly a dealbreaker. Hell, when I was applying for my car loan the lady asked for a fixed amount I spend every month (on rent, bills etc.), I gave her a number and she was like "you might want to declare a bit less than that"  and that was it ^^;; Credit scores in US sound like a cutthroat business~

My favorite would be Disgaea series - japanese turn based rpg with great amount of content and crazy storylines. Definitely the most fun games i ever played. Other than that my top would be The Witcher series, Labirynth of Refrain, Nier Automata, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I used to love dnd games like neverwinter nights or baldurs gate but that was a long time ago and i haven’t played them for so long so maybe they just got old and overshadowed by new games, not sure :)

I bought Nintendo switch last year so most new games i play are the ones released on that console.

I've never heard of Disgaea O-O Probably because it's turn based, not a big fan of those unfortunately~ But duh, Witcher ❤️ And I thought Nier Automata was more hacknslash than rpg? Am I wrong? SHOULD I BE PLAYING IT???

Man, I grew up on Neverwinter Nights, I have them all on CDs. My PC doesn't even have a CDROM any more but you'll not pry them from my cold, dead hands.

I play only on PC gah. It's so hard to find a fellow PC gamer >.>

Are you looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077? CAUSE I SURE AM ^^/

That interest rate is your first credit card, well the first one, when you're desperate and don't know anything about rates, you take what they'll give you, at least that's what I did 4 years ago when I got my first card.

That's so shitty, I'm sorry you got played like that. I think even my first credit card (that had a limit of 300$), I had when I was like 19, had maybe 11 or 12%.

These days banks are tripping over each other to get the client, offering discounts on interest rates, on comission, on anything really. But we're a "developing" country and the economy is doing pretty good atm so I guess there's no comparison to US AND also that's a bit of a different discussion.

  14. AYYYYYYY HELLO FELLOW COUNTRYPERSON!!! (ノ゚▽゚)ノ    〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜   \(^ω^\)

    Too bad that out of the whole selection of your fav bands I only listen to girugamesh ^^;;

As for the Gazette, I've just randomly gone through Beautiful Deformity and liked a grand total of two songs, one of them being the outro lol The other's Inside Beast because tutututu SEXY GARBAGE is lyric gold.

Also rpg games, yes, what games, tell me more :D

I don't understand how people can spend money they don't have.... and have a hard time paying back? Better save for your goal and do an extra job on the side than be needy now and suffer in the future.

That's...not very realistic for a lot of people. And calling people with debt "needy" is a bit unfair imo.

Saving up for things that are not neccessary for your day-to-day life is fine, although sometimes not achievable either.

Getting an extra job is at best a short term solution, if you want to have a life outside of work at all, and actually enjoy the things you're saving up for (I'm not even factoring in having kids or family). I've worked two jobs for a few months, a few years back, and I've had a grand total 5 hours free per day. I went into my night shift at 8pm, finished at 6am and then by 8am I  had to be at my second job where I stayed till 4pm. That's no way to live.

I suppose you're coming at the topic assuming that people take loans and fall into debt because they spend money they don't have on unnecessary, extravagant things.
