  1. Great song choice by DIMLIM! And Megaromania is awesome, too ^^

    DIMLIM - vanitas -CHEDOARA MIX-

    Aicle. - 豚の王様「ニトログリセリン」(Buta no ousama - nitroglycerin -)

SINCREA - 胸いっぱいの愛を (Mune ippai no ai wo)

    Shoujo Lolita 23Q - Supernova

CRAZY VODKA TONIC - ラブソング (Love song)

    Alice Nine - 昴 (Subaru)

    exist†trace - KNIFE (Album Mix)

    SCREW - deadlock

    DuelJewel - Snow Story

    GARNiDELiA - 桃源恋歌 (Tougen Renka)

Difficult to choose since there's many great song choices! I'll narrow it down to DIMLIM for their crafty ability in being able to blend multiple genres together (experimental perhaps?). Love that memorable combination of guitar work as well.

Enjoy watching the videos they make. It reminds of this hilarious video between Rame and Shun (which YouTube is not allowing me to embed the video for some reason...)

  4. Their singles/album covers were so aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. It conveyed a sense of traditional Japanese cultural themes, and I deeply appreciated it. They produced a unique sound by blending Western instruments alongside the koto and developed a sound in which I haven't heard any band play (since Kagrra,). Most bands look to the West for inspiration, but they looked back to their own country and were able to compose unforgettable songs.

By the way, I still get such a nostalgic yet sad feeling whenever I watch their last live. It was such a great show. I also liked that they played their older songs as well.

  5. I was perusing through the artist forum, and I was surprised that a Kagrra, thread was never made in this section, so here it is. Even though they disbanded in 2011 (and sadly are never coming back), this band definitely deserves much love. Let me know if I made any mistakes ^^

I get in Vidoll moods pretty often and spend time going through their old stuff. Love that there's a sizeable group of people here who seem to do the same.

Most of the major stuff was a snoozefest and missed the mark for me, but it's far more tolerable than a lot of other major vk acts at the time where. Jui's voice saved it from being truly garbage.

Even though it was such a tiny set, I'm glad I got the chance to see them once before the disbanded. I held on to that candy Rame threw at us for YEARS. Finally had to throw it away after I could see discoloration through the wrapper lol

Wow, so envious! They must have been so amazing to hear live. Gotta agree with you about Jui's voice. I love his voice and hearing him sing. He may not be the best, but he really brought out their music.

New PV from the Gentle Forest Jazz Band - lead by trombonist Gentle Kubota, who's also a member of Zainichi Funk. It's refreshing to hear this big-band/bop sound out of Japan, especially since some of the more prominent acts have been churning out some pretty unremarkable club-jazz.

Just wanted to necro revive this thread to say that I am enjoying Gentle Forest Jazz Band's music! I've only recently found out about them by listening to their latest album release. I will have to check out their earlier stuff for sure XD

I've also stumbled across this pairing. It's got saxophone and guitar mixed together, but I'm digging the sound.

As for jazz-influenced music, the only one I can think of right now is Shoji Meguro. As for VK-related artists, D=out hands down plays jazz best, lol.

I think the only post-INNOCENT TEENS song that stuck with me was Puzzle ring unfortunately.

Who can ever forget Giru taking on the role as a lead singer in the making-of?

On a more serious note, Puzzle Ring is a great song.

  10. Always admired Rame's bass playing, one of the main reasons I love listening to them. I was quite sad when they disbanded since they were and still are one of my favorite visual kei bands. As for their works, I enjoyed most of it. In particular, I like Romanesque Gothic and Deathmate. V.I.D. is also a good one as well.
