Wow Lime can actually scream! Funny how little they employ harsh vocals on their music having a vocalist that actually can do them - while a lot of bands use them like crazy but their vocalists can't really do them
Not really a fan of how much backing tracks they use though It kinda kills the point of a live performance.

I don't really like Jin's voice at all, but there was actually some signs of improvement from the Nega years on TBS (he still couldn't scream, no matter how he tried). His voice is just weird, his low singing has no ressonance and his high singing is so strained and forced (what is he? A tenor without highs or a baritone without lows?), but I don't really mind hearing him sing if the music isn't bad.
It's one of the things I regret the most in this life but once I listened to Nega's entire discography and liked just 7 songs (I liked their "The Blossoming Beelzebub" ripoff, was curious to hear if there were more stuff that I'd like ). My biggest problem with them is that they are absolutely all over the place, there is absolutely no cohesion on their sound AT ALL and in the end they failed to have something you could call "their sound". They had the ultra sappy 80's anime EDs that failed to present any actual emotional depth and the edgy angry metal stuff that didn't go anywhere. Don't get me wrong, variation isn't a problem and I'm not really a fan of one-dimensional bands, but I think they really failed to create something attention-grabbing at all the styles they tried to (with a few exceptions). Really dug The Black Swan though, but mostly because the instrumentation was closer to a style I like (the Dir en Grey meets Versailles thing was great)and the compositions were much stronger. Didn't really liked much any of their post-Ousia stuff though.

I've read that post on Dimlim's thread already

Not really a fan of these, but since those were released before The Silent Song it just highlights how impressive the leap in quality their music underwent through after Assei left. It's neat to see how Sho experimented through some different vocal approaches until finding the sound he has today.

Isn't this song the one Issei wrote like 10 years ago ?
Wasn't it Birth or the japanese quotation marks song? By the time The Silent Song was released Issei wasn't on the band anymore so IIRC the 10yo song was released after he left? (I dunno, I might be tripping actually)

Nega. Good God they were awful. They're one of the worse examples of "not sure if br00tal edgy violent metal or 80's anime soundtrack" cliche of japanese bands that just want to do every style possible and fail at every one of them. Musicianship is competent (the drummer was great!) but the songwriting is almost non-existent. I actually listened to their entire discography once and liked only 7 songs (dunno how many songs they had in total, but it was like 80?). And don't get me on Jin's voice.

I actually got a stronger Sukekiyo vibe from their more recent stuff than a DeG one too. Haven't really heard their stuff much but it's pretty crazy how Mao's singing improved with time (i'm not talking since the beginning of this project, I mean since the beginning of his career) , and the music is also took a huge improvement since "Chainsaw" too. That one barely qualifies as music lol

Does he really do full-on harsh vocals? I recall some raspier singing here and there but I don't think I've ever heard him actually screaming (not counting the live stage banter stuff) on any of the songs I've heard by them. Not sure if harsh vocals would really fit their music, even with him being actually capable of doing those though. One of the things that hit me harder about them was him not screaming over the heavy parts like everyone does, his clean singing over heavy music defies expectations and it gives the music a very unique effect.

Has any other band simply split up and canceled the release of an album altogether like Ligro did?
(Not sure if the english is correct)

Holy crap, are those guys prolific! Last time I heard anything by them was Orb. They already released 3 (or 4, if you count Pantheon as two separate albums) full lenght since then are on the way to another! Haven't checked their stuff in a long while but I still have a place for them in my heart since they were one of my first vk bands.

Don't know who's the singer, but that is a really really cool lineup. I hope the rest of the music is better than that sample though.

I don't think I've heard a band implement japanese folk music influences so well on their sound. Not a fan of the electronic-heavy song Mirai was saying nobody would like, but it doesn't make the album less good. Definitely one of the highlights of the year for me. Great to hear them going for a clean production (which can't be described as a "sellout" of any sort because the music is still as weird as ever).

Wasn't Warumono (probably not written the same kanji) an oldschool nickname of DeG's Kyo?
-
Not bad but not really that interesting either. I hope they are more versatile that and can also put out some softer stuff.
-
Is this going to be Jin's Sukekiyo? From that teaser alone I get the band's sound will be more atmospheric/jazzy? Jin never was that good with screaming, so maybe something clean vocal-focused can be cool for a change.

I'm kinda late to the party but WOOOOOOOOOOW that was a messed up video. Haven't seen anything that disturbing in a good while. Still need a couple more of listens to have a better grasp of the song, but from the first listen, it's good. I like the production and the inclusion of djenty rhythms is pretty cool. Interesting how Lime (sorry if you care about capitalizations because I don't) doesn't jump the "make weird noises with your throat during the heavy parts even if you don't have the hability to do so" bandwagon and stays within his clean vocals range all the way through the song - it's a pretty fresh thing in my book.
-
Those are some seriously good harsh vocals! Not too big on the cleans nor the songs themselves though
Edit:DeG wants their songtitles back! Having one track sharing a name with another artist is okay, but two?

Nah, only The Invisible, a song with a kanji title and Aharewata (via a PV) were uploaded on their channel.
Not feeling the song at all I'm still interested in following the band because the vocalist has a lot of potential.

BTW this brought me a question - does Mika have pads on his drumkit to make those electronic noises live or he just plays the song "regularly" on his kit? I haven't seen any live footage of the Adoratio songs since they ooze electronic stuff so I dunno how they sound live. Maybe they use backing tracks or someone else like Takumi or even Kyo (I know he messes around with samplers live too) trigger those sounds live?

Has anyone mentionedl lll-Ligro-'s Tamerai album which was cancelled before its release due to vo. Hinata leaving the band?
Not sure how finished it was though. At least a song ("Basket Case") was released to the public but I haven't seen it anywhere on the internet
