Rahzel got a reaction from KrumpingChihuahua in random thoughts thread
Since I'm pretty much your friend, please let me in to this playlist when you're done (though I do listen to a few more recent more "oshareish" and idol kei bands it's not heavy nor old so I'm curious as to what you'd compile/what one would define as "vk" nowadays tbh hmm)
As for a random thought... y'know just realized that the reason why I've been coming here so often isn't because of the music dls (to be honest about it I'm not listening to any more music than I was before, so it's not like I have a lot of interesting stuff to share and could be just lurking really - but I only realized that when I nearly stopped listening to music thanks to hearing impairments lol.) but because the layout is black thus less aggressive than most online forums and websites I used to frequent. At this point my migraines/aura suck so badly I was probably on an unconscious level drawn to websites with darker layouts, which is... something I must address quickly with doctors for everyone's sake. The good news is I just found a good eye-protective new monitor to buy

Wow what the hell. Some honest lack of entertainment in my life led me down the rabbit hole of Anthony Padilla's I-spent-a-day series of videos and I am pretty horrified at the maid cafe one lmaoo
Honestly some things like yaoi paddles and lewd maid cafes just never really made it where I live and I mean ........... do kids actually pay for some girls in a lewd* anime* maid* costume to step on them lol why would you do it to yourself and how many hours will it take for u to regret ur behavior

Rahzel reacted to Muma in Hello (yet again)
Hello again!!
I used to frequent here quite a few years ago and have dropped off since. I've made a few "hello again" posts and have dipped in and out but im hoping I'm here to stay for good
I wonder if any of our veterans on here remember me...
I've not actively listened to VK in a long time but I rediscovered my old hard drive with all my music on it and fell in love yet again
Bands I have kept listening to despite falling out of touch with VK are Dir en Grey, MUCC, Plastic Tree, Buck-Tick, Kiryu, Awoi, Kagrra, DEZERT, Versailles and lynch to name a few (not much new stuff on there I realise!!)
There are also a few non vk Japanese bands I love such as humbert humbert, kinoko teikoku, envy, MONCA URANGLASS, The Oral Cigarettes, LITE, Kenshi Yonezu, TK from Ling Toshite Sigure and amazarashi
Excited to delve into this world again 😊

Rahzel reacted to jon_jonz in "Inspiration" - where does music find it?
- "Sorrow still in the Merry-go-round" by Ant1nett is identical to "Final" by Laputa.
- "Tear Drop" by Milia∞ is a plagio of Schwarz Stein's 'Rise to Heaven' . It's the same lead in the intro of both songs.
- "卒業(sotsugyou)" by Blitz has the same intro as "Ai Somaru Koro (藍染まる頃)" by DOWNER (ダウナー)
- "花壱" by アンド (AND) has the same intro as the song "freak show" by auncia.
- The last melody the vocalist sings in "独壇場Beauty -R.I.P.-" by BUCK-TICK is identical to the chorus of the song "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" by Dead Or Alive, but with different lyrics.
- "月が照らす欠片 (Tsuki ga terasu kakera)" by Azusa Kobayashi (小林梓) = "fly me to the moon" by Frank Sinatra.
- "終夜灯 (shuuyatou)" by Awoi (アヲイ) has a chorus that is identical to Sadie's "Silent Eve", even tough the lyrics are different.
- Towards the end of "パンティ×パンティ" by ねこみみ。(neko mimi) they play a guitar riff very similar to Metallica's "Enter Sandman".
- "A GLEAM OF HOPE" by CATALYST has a melody in it's chorus identical to MEJIBRAY's "Divergence".
- The chorus of the song "THE SUICIDAL AGITATOR" by ヴァンパイア (VAMPIRE) is identical to "MAD ROID" by Sadie, but the lyrics are different.
- The intro to the song "Nostalgia" by La'veil MizeriA is a slowed down version of the intro of the song "~Fall the Quicksand~" by 妃阿甦 (PIASS).
- The breakdown in the song "慙愧 -Sense of deep inside- " by Villers La Ville is just like the intro to Dir en Grey's new version of 羅刹国 (Rasetsukoku).
- The melody in the chorus of the song "Believe" by Scarlet Valse is the same as the melody in the chorus of the song "STARGAZER~終わらない明日へ~" by 秋葉原少年団☆電脳ロメオ (Dennou Romeo)
- Towards the end of モンストロ (Monstlow)'s - ビッグマウス・マーチ (big mouse march) the vocalist sings a version of the chorus of the song "Mickey Mouse March" from the 1950s Disney TV show "The Mickey Mouse Club" using the same melody from the original, but with different lyrics.
- "パラサイトイヴ" by ヴァルナ (varuna) has the same melody as the song "「タトエバ」キミ...ガ...シンダ...ラ" by D'espairsRay, except for the chorus.
- Another song that also samples the same track by Disney is "Cendrillion" by GLORIA.
The bridge of the song "茹でた隠元豆のある柔らかい構造" by 蘭図 (Rands) has the same melody as the famous intro + bridge of the song "Smells like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. It also has riffs from 3 songs by KUROYUME: 黒夢, 親愛なるDEATH MASK & 十字架との戯れ.
"ハッピーバースデー (Happy Birthday)" by Gossip-ゴシップ- is pretty much a mix of ガゼット (the GazettE)'s "未成年" and "ザクロ型の憂鬱"
- The first part of the song "だから嫌いなんだ、雨なんて" by GreeΣ, before the 1st bridge, sounds just like "CANDY CANDY" by きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ (Kyary Pamyu Pamyu).
- GYARANDU (ギャランドゥ) has a song called "Independent", in which they play part of Mission Impossible's theme song just before the guitar solo.
- heidi. has a song called 幻想囃子 which guitar solo has the same melody as the song 彼岸花 (Higanbana) byドレミ團 (DOREMIdan).
- The very last guitar riff played in the song "電脳花壇-ONE Take Ver-" by DOGinTheパラレルワールドオーケストラ is the same as the famous guitar riff in the intro of the song "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses, but it was most probably just put there as a joke, since the whole song itself is a spoof.
- The last verse sung in the song 願い星 (Negai Boshi) by キス&ネイト (Kisnate) has the same melody as the chorus of the song 愛2000 by Missalina Rei.
- in LIPHLICH's song entitled "HURRAH HURRAY", there's a part in which the vocalist sings (in English) "I Love Visual, So put another dime in the jukebox baby.
So i Fxxk Visual, So come on take some time and dance with me", which is sang to the tune of the chorus of the song "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" originally by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.
- The intro of Megaromania's "Bloodshed" is almost identical to the intro of Rhapsody (of Fire)'s song entitled "Dawn of Victory".
- アリス症候群 (alice shoukougun) by メカクシ (Mekakushi) has a breakdown which is just like the guitar riff they keep repeating in Dir en Grey's new version of 残-Zan-.
- MIZTAVLA has a song called "絶望宣言" that's very similar to Gazette's "The $ocial Riot Machine$"
- Another song that has also plagiarized Gazette's "The $ocial Riot Machine$" is "New Age Revolution" by Neo. The bridge in both songs is very similar.
- "Strawberry night" by NoGoD has the same intro as "共栄会 (Kyoueikai)" by アンド (AND).
- The part in which the members of ワン☆スター (One Star) are singing and clapping together in "MIRACLE MUSIC SHOWTIME" is just like the intro to SuG's "39GalaxyZ", but with different lyrics.
- At the very end of the song "PalaPsycho", by Ru:natic, the singer sings in a melody identical to the chorus of the song "恋心" by an even more obscure band called 兎(仮) (Usagi).
- in the middle of "ビッチバンドマン" by SHiSHi they play the same keyboard lead from the intro of the song "Monolith" by Crossfaith.
- The first part of the song "パラサイトイヴ" by ヴァルナ, before the 1st bridge, sounds just like "「タトエバ」キミ...ガ...シンダ...ラ" by D'espairsRay
- The bridge of the song "Y氏" by マチルダ (Mathilda) has a melody identical to "ネクロノミコン" by 愛狂います。(Aicle)
- Mercuria-マキューリア- has plagiarized at least 2 old school VK bands:
1 the intro to "緋い糸" is the same as the intro to the song "君が望む永遠と僕が欲しかった唯一の倖せ" by フィオーレ (Fiore)
2 "被害妄想" has the same chorus as

Rahzel got a reaction from Miku70 in Visual kei popping up in unexpected places
Not sure how "unexpected" this is but:
Argonavis aka Boydori now has a character who is a bandomen yay
Also oldies popular shoujo manga Kaikan Phrase had a band whose guitarist was ex-vk (but since Ayabie covered Datenshi Blue as if it's a vk song ... is it unexpected?)

Rahzel reacted to violetchain in What are you watching (on YouTube)?
Lol, I just didn't like Jin because he always seemed so full of himself. It seems like he's mellowed out a bit over the years.
I started watching the series mainly because I like Kanjani8 and Ryo's drama work. Yeah, I still haven't even checked out his solo album yet, since I wasn't really wild about the trailers. Plus Subaru was always my favourite in Kanjani8, so I need to get around to that one first. ^^;

Rahzel reacted to violetchain in What are you watching (on YouTube)?
Haha, yeah, I've been laughing so hard watching those videos. While I'm a big KAT-TUN fan, I've always found Jin kind of irritating, tbh, so I was really surprised by how fun they are to watch. The dynamic he has with Ryo is so cute.

Rahzel got a reaction from violetchain in What are you watching (on YouTube)?
THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WATCHING THAT? Oh boy that series is so funny and memeable (wish I knew where the fans gather because I often want to throw some broken English but I know nobody will get it 😞 ).
There's 2.078 videos in my watch later now so... 👀 as y'all can see I spend a lot of time on Youtube ....... (#bilingualproblems but half of it are MV releases ??) really enjoy those seiyuu tl channels AOL and Ask Japanese/Abroad in Japan and similar channels are always there and the occasional TEDTalk too. One of such Japanese culture/trivia channels I really enjoy is Nekojitablog:
Now for something more English speaking and just as fun.

Rahzel reacted to plastic_rainbow in Top 5 favourite animes
Top 5 is pretty hard to choose! There's a lot that I enjoy depending on my mood/genre and I just started delving more into old 80s anime in recent years, including other classic stuff that I missed. DBZ and Sailor Moon were my first anime, and Cardcaptor Sakura was a childhood favorite that I do really still love ngl (the clear card-hen was absolute shit tho). Anyway, I'm gonna list by series and movies too cuz there's quite a few movies that I enjoy.
Series: (stuff that I've at least watched twice)
Mushishi
Death Note
Saraiya Goyou
Aoi Bungaku Series
Serial Experiments Lain
Movies:
Perfect Blue
Spirited Away
Mind Game
Vampire Hunter D (2000)
Koe no Katachi
Honorable Mentions: Monogatari Series, Kemonozume, Gankutsuou, Monster, Ping Pong the Animation, Elfen Lied, The Tatami Galaxy, Boogiepop Phantom, Kino no Tabi (2003)

i mean, it's mostly just some of my favorite vk songs i've listened to over the years, nothing really special lol. it's a really long list, and i didn't even include everything i wanted, but if you're still interested i can maybe send the playlist to you.
not doing this to impress someone at all, just love sharing music

Rahzel reacted to platy in Top 5 favourite animes
I'm extremely surprised that SHIMONETA, a *modern* ecchi series with extremely childish jokes is in YOUR favorites.
But even I, senior hater of ecchis and harems, enjoyed that series. It was super entertaining, cleverly dumb and the characters were fun. I'm also surprised Prison School is there too, but the first half of the manga is in my all time faves. This is why we get along @YuyoDrift
My top 5
Started watching late 90s/00s when I was around 5 or 6. First anime was either Sailor Moon or Cardcaptor Sakura.
1. FMA Brotherhood (we're never getting this level of quality in the industry again)
2. Space Dandy
3. Kill la Kill
4. Yu Yu Hakusho
5. Rurouni Kenshin (Shishio Arc only)
I would add Cardcaptor Sakura somewhere in my list, but I'm gonna rewatch it first to see if it's still as good as I thought. Previous favorites that got booted off the list after a rewatch include Sailor Moon and 2 seasons of Rurouni Kenshin.
Honorable mentions: Devilman Crybaby, Samurai Champloo, Made in Abyss, JJBA Battle Tendency, Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai

Rahzel reacted to Keiyuh in Great music from unexpected countries
While doing this I try and push myself to not post what everyone expects or wants the same thing just like the first but more creative and unexpected something that will surprise you and identify the others as musicians and not melody heores choosing what song I should post just proves how bland and easy to copy it is while I search endlessly
Bands that actually are obscure and put a mark on others mind and is ravishing not as melody but as it's meaning because I don't listen music to pass time or to relief stress neither trying to feel I got something in common but a strange outworldly feeling that changes on the mood that I am collaterating
The biggest example was the first band I posted while some of their songs are what you'd expect from metal groups the select few is just fundamentally important and Frankly I don't have the nerve to post unnecessary bands and it takes alot of effort to find good ones
