After hearing the new Kiryu song recycle a certain Mi'ze:lia song, I wanted to kind of talk about one of the bands that Kiryu seemed to have really taken a few bits of influence from. Cuartet.
I've been listening to these guys and their contemporaries a lot, and I've noticed a few interesting things.
First off is their song "Koibumi". This at first seems like your run-of-the-mill attempt at an Akuro no Oka, and it is, but it also seems to have been combined with Aoi Haru by Gill'e Cadith. The beach they filmed the PV on was also used some music videos by other band. Most notably, the GazettE, whom at the time were kind of brother-bands with Cuartet.
The song later inspired Tsukubai by Kiryu. Mahiro even tried to emulate Saki's wailing and screaming at the end. Only, Kiryu's version is much more metal. Why did Kiryu decide to tribute Cuartet? I have no idea why, other than the fact that Mahiro probably is friends with the members. There are setlists with LutenA and Koroshi (Mahiro's first band, and Cuartet's first era, respectively) preforming together that I've found here and there. Mahiro is also a former Luciffer's Record artist, and while Cuartet wasn't on Luciffer's Record, the owner of the record label, Yuuga from Devil Kitty, was closely associated with Cuartet's label, Climax Enteprise. As a result, Curse and Mareli (2 of Mahiro's bands) appeared on 2 omnibuses with Cuartet (edit: for sine reason I originally put Gill'e Cadith here? I really should proofread more).
One of Mitsuki and Takemasa's earliest bands, Mi'ze:lia, was on Sequence Records, whose owner, Tomozo, was close friends with guitarist AIKA of Cuartet, having played in Black:List and Triggah, and AIKA still being a close associate of Tomozo's current label, Dual Core Sound Enterprise. So it's safe to say, Kiryu and Cuartet's members probably were friends, or at least aquainted with eachother, and bounced ideas off eachother.
Another thing Cuartet liked to do is use a lot of traditional Japanese aesthetics in some of their looks. Most notably, Sphere and Deep Bonds of Ogre. The Sanskrit overlays and all were later used a lot by Kiryu. Though they were probably initially inspired by La'Mule.  (Sphere scan taken from ZOMBIEXJUICE)
Next is a personal favourite of mine, PROGRAM. This one is pretty much their attempt at combining Zan by Dir en Grey with Devil Kitty and Gill'e Cadith. It's pretty good if you like a lot of screaming and that rhythmic talking thing that isn't exactly rapping that Saki (though it was really Karuna's thing) does.

Finally, I want to talk about a certain PV location that I've seen used in 3 different bands. I have no idea what this place is called, but maybe someone could help.
The first band I know that used this is the GazettE, with their song "Wife". During one part, it shows the outside of the building.
Ogre by Cuartet was later filmed in the same building, and even shows the exterior.
The final PV that I know of that takes place there was Pink Woman by Etcetera.
The filming crew for these PVs are probably all the same people who film stuff for Eternal, Climax Enterprise, Luciffer's Record and Mission Music Factory.

There has been some real drama involving Issei as of recent. Peace Heavy Mark II posted about how Issei is doing literal dumb marketing, but this, this takes the cake.
    https://twitter.com/AyriesTheCat/status/921440652507910144
Read the entire post, and all of the replies to it. It explains the full story. It's screenshots of Issei literally exploding on a fan, just because she made a meme.
So basically, this innocent girl posted a meme of Issei. Issei takes offense to it, and starts calling her names.
She apologises, and he feels the need to speak for all Japanese people, and accuse her of excuses.
Then she says he's literally making her cry, and he actually asks for a picture of her fucking crying. That is creepy, on so many levels. She's a teenage girl, and you ask her to show her crying face?
Not only that, but she pointed out Ryuya made memes of himself, and Issei straight up tells her "Ryuya doesn't matter". Way to stroke your own ego, buddy. Saying he doesn't matter, just because you think it'll distract from the fact you're being an oversensitive hypocrite.
I originally wasn't going to post about this here, since I assumed it's get more attention. But it's not getting the attention it deserves.

First, jumping on the idiotic marketing that Nocturnal Bloodlust did by making edgy comments at uploaders of your music, the people who actually are the reason your stuff is bought. And not even considering the possibilities Youtube has for self promotion. Now, going after fans for making a fucking meme?

Himeaimichu got a reaction from Miku70 in How would you define Angura?
I agree with @Jigsaw9. Just basically be a Kayoukyoku or Ryukoka Vkei band that wears uniforms and is obsessed with Eroguro,
Much like actual Ryukoka and Enka artists in the 1920's (From what I've read), Eroguro was pretty popular and influential to the Japanese music scene in the early 20th century. I've even found a Japanese Kayoukyoku collection CD that was titled "Ero Guro Nansensu" for sale on CD Japan or something once.
So I would define it by bands such as Guruguru Eigakan, Inugami Circus Dan, etc. Although Inugami has less Kayoukyoku influence, they're basically part of Angura by association.
However, I do agree there is a lot of traditional Japanese elements, but it's not the same elements that Kiryu or Memento Mori use. In general, Kayoukyoku, Ryukoka and Enka music is just traditional Japanese music, but on western instruments. It's more of the general nature of the music they play. During the era where these genres were popular, Traditional Japanese Music hadn't declined yet, and it was still popular to listen to Shamisen and Koto music, so it's natural that a lot of that kind of music would influence the popular genres. Bands like Kiryu however are more influenced by straight up traditional Japanese music, and its reflected in how they write their music.
Although I've heard the term "Chikashitsu Kei" to refer to Guruguru and Inugami, idk how proper of a term that is.

if your band meets at least two of the below criteria:

    - have your cover artwork be drawn by Suehiro Maruo
    - perform short skits during gigs
    - use melodies reminiscent of kayoukyoku in your songs
    - design your outfits based on school uniforms
    - have at least one song about (pre-/post-/mid-)WWII and/or nationalism

That's it, I cracked the Angura Code™, thank you for coming to my TEDTalk.

So it's no secret Suicidal Tendencies was very influential to Visual Kei. Everyone knows 90's Visual Kei has punk roots, as well as thrash metal roots, and that combination was Suicidal's bread and butter. This is an example I noticed recently of a Visual Kei song taking inspiration from them.:

Furan Yue Ni by La:Sadie's seems to have taken a lot from Subliminal by Suicidal

As a bonus I'll throw in Byou Shin by Dir en Grey. There are probably even more examples, but I'm only a very casual listener to Suicidal (I've been neglecting them for so long lmao)

With Trap Beats, I kinda realised, it's not the rhythms themselves I hate. I hate the drum sounds themselves. The Hi Hats are too front and center. I find the kind of hi hat sound used in the early 2000s way more pleasing to the ear than the irritating ones used in modern Hip Hop.
Like, for example, I really like the beats to Confessions Part 2 by Usher, because even though they have the triplet hi hats, they dont sound up in your face and annoying.

Basically, if trap producers used better sounding drums, I'd probably like them more.
