  1. I seriously wish AIKA didn't retire from the Vkei scene after Triggah. Does anyone know what he's even doing now? Last I heard, he still attended events relating to Dual Core Sound, but I believe Dual Core Sound isn't around anymore

      You're welcome!

  3. I may upload some Memento Mori stuff in lossless soon. My partner has almost their entire discography (minus their full-length and their demo tape)

      IGM_Oficial

What? They have a demo tape?

    2. Himeaimichu

      Himeaimichu

@IGM_Oficial It was called "Nigatsuyouka no Shitsumei" and was released some time in 2012, around the same time as Haikei Haranbanjou Biyori. It's extremely rare, and it never appears on sales or auctions, but it is confirmed to have existed.

  4. I want to start using last.fm again, but I'd have to correct all my music tags.

    ALL of my Vkei tags....

mp3tag and tag scanner would be nice, if they made it for Android, since the bulk of my music is on my phone.

I'd totally like to use the script vk.gy has, but I don't know any android apps that'd work with it, since it's based from mp3tag

    3. Himeaimichu

      Himeaimichu

Oh yeah, I used to have that app. The way it tagged album art was weird though. It'd always be compressed and if anything happened to the song file, the art would be gone.

Also, I have no idea if that's compatible with mp3tag scripts, since I trust the vk.gy tagging script. Other auto-taggers would wrongly tag my Visual Kei music. The auto-tagging software on the PC I use to rip music with thinks that a Kuroyuri to Kage single is Michael Jackson, and that Cuartet is the RnB group "Shai" lol

  5. The riff to the new Kiryu song reminds me of Ookami Shounen by Mi'ze:lia (one of Mitsuki and Takemasa's earliest bands)

They're probably getting to the point where they need to subtly recycle things to keep up with their release schedule

@Peace Heavy mk II Yeah, I noticed their stuff has been kind of a sample-fest lately. Muku was practically just them reusing the bridge to Meikyou Shisui to somehow connect to the chorus of Oboro.

  6. I'm trying to make a mashup of the old and new versions of Zan by Dir en Grey, but I have no idea what the key is for either song. Can someone help?

  7. Interesting, I think I found the guitarist who seemed to really inspire a lot of Guruguru Eigakan's music, especially Amano's guitar playing. He's  a famous Ryukoka/Enka musician

  8. Which Vkei song was the first to experiment with rap-metal? The earliest I can think of is Shikkou Yuuyo Sannen from Kagerou, released in 2001.

i was gonna say MUCC's Kokuin barely counts and that's 2001 too

  9. What's the difference in content between the VHS's, "Cuartet 2004.1.7目黒鹿鳴館 Symphony of 「Creativity」-Blue「-」Ogre-)" and "Cuartet 2004.1.8目黒鹿鳴館 Symphony of 「Destruction」-Red「-」Ogre-)"

Like, which songs does each have on them?

  10. I heard that AINS may be bought out by some company. Is that true?

  11. Which came first? The Omnibus series titled Deep More Deep, or the Vasalla song from 1998 titled Deep (More Deep) Blue?

    1. Himeaimichu

      Himeaimichu

Ah. Didn't Dir en Grey also use some variation of the name for a tour or something?

    2. Alkaloid

      Alkaloid

Not that I know of. It sounds like something they would use though haha

Edit: they did for a tour in December 2000. "Macabre Deep[-],Deep[-],Deep[-],Deep[er]"

    3. Himeaimichu

      Himeaimichu

Probaby still Vasalla influenced. Diru and Vasalla were really close friends, so it'd make sense

  12. Mo Bamba by Sheck Wes is just the 2018 version of the musical disaster that is Turn my Swag On by Soulja Boy

There probably exists a mod for that.
If only there was an in depth guide on how to fucking install mods like that.

"Replace the BMP in Particle.txd" ok I did that and nothing happened

There is, for the PS2 version

  14. Can anyone recognise the members in the first band on this? All I recognise is Saki (Cuartet) and Shin (Cuartet) and Satsuki (Mist of Rouge). I'm wanting to know so I can list the band name on the members' histories on vk.gy. So far, the only members I know were in the band were the people I listed, Ruki and Uruha from The GazettE, and of course, Yayoi.

For those who don't know, it's Sakae Hebi-zoku, the session band for Eternal records. Even though it's safe to assume all Eternal bandmen were once in it, it's safer just to list the confirmed ones.

  15. My friend bought me Cuartet's 2nd single, 『CORE』-code 219/344 . Expect some lossless rips and some scans soon.

  16. Does anyone know what Aika from Cuartet and Triggah is doing, as of recent?
Is he in any session bands, or did he just completely retire from the Vkei scene?

    1. Axius

      Axius

I only know for triggah. The vocalist created a band called DARIAN MARIAN and also had a solo project for a while. the band is on a haitus due to vocalist vocal chord problems

      Profile:

Gt. erina (ex-Dio, Triggah, etc.) his most recent activity was doing support for David in 10/26/2018 has been doing support for him and various many other bands and sessions.

      Dr.燵(tatsu) (ex-TRIGGAH) was in a band called ハルシオン(halsion)

      Ba.龍輝(ryuki) (ex-華音(kanon)-->RUDE(support)-->ISDEAD, TRIGGAH(support)

was in the Ex-Licker band called アカシジア(akathisia) also was in a session band called high five in 2016

As for there old members before the single ENVY AND JEALOUSY im unsure

  17. Did Green Herb Straight Tea Time ever released anything? They seem to be the leftover members of what was the Gazetto-Cuartet-Casuga collective.

  18. I just realised, the PVs for Cuartet's "Sexuality" and Nightmare's "Gianizm Tsuu" were probably filmed in the same place. Both have the knock-off Cambodian Angkor Wat statues lol

I wonder why bands don't tell where they shoot their music videos. Because of the retarded fans, probably?

    2. Himeaimichu

      Himeaimichu

Probably so lol. I imagine some of the more dumber fans would've graffittied "Saki please have my babies!!!" all over the set lol.

  19. It's 2018. It's easy to make a good sounding record with drum programming, amp-sims, getting good quality mics being easier, etc.

With all this... why in the hell does Starwave's production still sound like utter crap?

It's so easy to make a good sounding record. Just put in a good amp-sim, get some good drum samples, recording vocals is not that hard. At this point, I'm convinced Kiwamu purposefully removes the bass and midrange.

Maybe they just want it to sound like that? Maybe that's what they like?

I'm in a band (and some), and while we could record everything better (you know, used 5 mics for the drums instead of 2, told the guitarist we want a clear sound, produced it better and so on), we don't want to. We have a very clear vision for what we want, and even though a "better" (aka more polished) production would probably get us a few more fans, it's not what we're after. It's not in our interest. First and foremost we want to please ourselves with the music.

As far as programmed drums goes, it all depends on the music performed. And if you ask me (something you didn't he e he he he hrhaha heh) programmed drums really only suit a few types of music such as hip hop, different kind of industrial music, music where you don't rely on regular beats and so on. Programmed drums in regular rock, punk and metal are usually annoying as fuck no matter how good the actual samples used are.

This is Starwave Records I'mtalking about here. I doubt Kiwamu's half assed production is for artistic purpose, as he cares more about easy cash grabs and keeping his bands on a tight leash, than he is actually promoting the art of Visualkei. He's more concerned running a practical pyramid scheme than he is about furthering any art.

  20. Did old Devil Kitty ever release any other PVs than just DQNなエセ麺カノ?

    1. inartistic
    2. Himeaimichu

      Himeaimichu

Oh wow. I need to get my hands on those PVs if I ever see them for sale

  21. I love Devil Kitty and Deadly Sanctuary... but what is up with those drum samples Yuuga uses?

Like, they sound like the default drums on a children's keyboard or on a SNES Game

  22. Recently got back into Devil Kitty. Except this time, I'm actually taking the time to listen to their full discography instead of just listening to Hello Katty and DQN on repeat lol

  23. Status made here by request of @saishuu. Btw, Happy Birthday.

  24. I've seriously been sleeping on STEREO.C.K. They're really good, and sort of keep the Kagerou sound, but with a twist
