Here's some hard data from visunavi, twitter and ameba.
 
Their followers on social media might be a good metric. Athougth Len from TBS has 94K followers on twitter (even more than dir en grey and almost as much as much as lunaseaofficial :O), it was due to his rescued kitten Kotetsu going viral. So individual band members might have more fame, but that fame won't necessarily extend to the rest of the band.
 
Paradeis and Piass are no longer active, but judging by their follower count on their old ameba accounts, they all floated around the 2K number.
 
 
Live data:
Elysion's first one-man will be at Ruido K3 (capacity: 150), but the largest venue they played at is Holiday Shinjuku which houses 450 people. THE BLACK SWAN's biggest one man was at Tsutaya O-West (capacity: 600) and they regularly play at ~300 capacity live houses Liphlich's biggest one-man was at Ebisu Liquidroom (housing a capacity of about 900) The biggest venue Grieva has played at was Makuhari Messe (10,000) for Visual Japan Summit 2016 Scapegoat's many one-man's have played out their finals in ~300 capacity live houses, but they have been a part of bigger events at O-EAST (1300) UNDER FALL JUSTICE seems to centralize their activity around HOLIDAY NEXT Nagoya (capacity: 300) Kuroyuri to Kage headlined a live last year at Shinjuku LOFT (500)

The Nostradamnz is a punk rock band, whenever you can call them visual kei or just alternative. They don't know it themselves, maybe they are visual and maybe they are not.  Their music sounds different than from many other bands right now in the visual world so maybe they aren't? However they often play with Visual Kei bands and sometimes they don't play with Visual Kei bands.
I think they have a nice good sound, maybe not easy to like for everyone, but if I listen to their music I can clearly hear that the guys are talented for real. Also if you don't want to buy their music their first EP is available at spotify for FREE. Well Free to listen to.
Of course their last 3 CD's aren't easy to get anymore, well their last is still available that Closet Child. Which runs out of stock soon enough. The guys already said that they won't do a 2nd press. However they are busy to deliver new music soon enough again.  And who knows their next release will be an ALBUM.
The Nostradamnz play about 2 times a month somewhere in Tokyo.

Reading through these responses is kind of depressing. It seems we've all had bad reactions when introducing other people to VK. I've gotten so tired of standing there while people insult what I love just because they can't or won't understand it, that I just don't talk about it with other people anymore. If anyone asks what I listen to, I just tell them symphonic metal or symphonic rock, since that's the area of VK I listen to the most. Frankly, it's not really their business what I listen to anyway.

I've always thought of making a compilation of common sets in VK! There's always that church that is in PVs. Nokubura shot their PV for DESPERATE there and I think Phantasmagoria and DELUHI among many other bands have PVs there.
 
This isn't very uncommon in any genre of music, though, especially VK. The colors look similar, but I think you may just be reaching a bit because they're so close together. Their outfits look different, the camera angle is different and sure, both vocalists have a leg up, but again this isn't an uncommon pose. Just look at the amount of vocalists who did the whole "hand over mouth" pose in the early 2000s.

see, i don't find savage to be full visual core, throwing a thrashy riff into otherwise nu-metal structure doesn't make them x-core all of a sudden. the drumming is straight up unsraw-style blasting, nothing like the speedy sujk/misc deluhi rip offs. it sounds a lot like neo-destruction in the composition.
that said, savage have some awful taste and throw in a fuck-ton too many bleepbloops; otherwise their sound is quite similar to their alt metal days, minus all the new mosh songs and electronics which leaves like 3 good alt-metal songs who am i trying to kid

Wataru's original charge was assault and the fact that he settled out of court seemed to help him, they didn't really see a decline that was caused by his case imo. (hilariously for me 12012 was the band I stanned before lynch. so this whole arrest thing is getting old now...) as for how much an anti-social/societal act impacts things, it really depends on the nature of the act -- if we presume Sankei Sports' source is legit and then further presume it was just possession it's kinda hard to say,  while celebs in Japan are getting nailed for kakuseizai/meth all the time and many of them do resume activities, we have only a small sample size in VK: Daishi (unknown sentence for kakuseizai), Imai Hisashi (6 month sentence for LSD), sakura (2 year sentence for kakuseizai)...  I can't think of anymore. + their cases are pretty varied, clearly.

anyway tanuki has devolved into"he stole a fishing boat (because he loves fishing) (LEL GOTTEM BOIS)" and "he LYNCHED SOMEBODY GET IT??????" and there was a weird Elvis-sighting type of rumor so i doubt anything solid is going to come out of them anytime soon
