  1. Now I haven't seen Kill List, but I thought it was a more folk horror-inspired film with clear connections to films like The Wicker Man, Blood on Satan's Claw, Witchfinder General and so on with a touch of Martyrs thrown in? Which wouldn't come as a surprise considering Ben Wheatley, the man behind Kill List, also made the fantastic psychedelic folk horror A Frield in England which is totally recommended by the way. Superb film! Really looking forward to Wheatley's upcoming films High-Rise and Free Fire as well. Should be great.

Yeah, you pretty much nailed it. It's a slow burn, much more psychological than physical horror, involving cults and devil worshipping. I don't recall it being very bloody, and what surprised me a lot was the change of direction. In the beggining, it seems like a normal thriller, and by the end you will be biting your nails, lol. The Canal is much more supernatural oriented, right? Ghosts, spirits and all that.

Damn, I haven't seen A Field in England yet! Ben Wheatley really surprised me with KL, looking forward to what he will bring with a more known cast.

Horror usually isn't my cup of tea, but what are some good movies that you'd recommend enjoying with your significant other?

    Hmmmm... Warm Bodies? xD

If you are looking for a horror movie with romantic elements, I'd recommend checking out Thirst (2009). Its veeery good!

Well, I love both eras. IMO, the old DEG has a lot more bad songs, which I just can't like (like most of MISSA and Kisou, Deity, Hydra, Garbage, Beautiful Dirt), at the same time it has absolute masterpieces (Cage, Zakuro, undecided, mushi, hotarubi, Yurameki, Yokan, audience killer loop, shokubeni, The Final, Spilled Milk, Kodou). The new-era DEG changed direction, but it is still excellent (Lotus, Different Sense and Rinkaku are my favorite songs by them, easily) with only a select few I really hate (the older songs remakes, lmao, along with Decayed Crow, The Blossoming Belzebub, Reikestu Nariseba, Rotting Root).

  3. Guys! I started watching the Scream TV series and I got in the mood to watch horror "whodunit" movies in that vein. I have all the Scream movies (watched 1 and 4), All the Boys Love Mandy Lane and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Already watched Urban Legend a long time ago.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

  4. I really agree with the above poster about the title track. It's a nice mix of other genres that Gazette didn't pull for a long time. It's grindy, heavy and dark. Then they threw it all away and went back to their generic headbanging songs...

The album as a whole is way too similar. Other than DOGMA, after the first listen I liked only DERACINE, BIZARRE and OMINOUS. I think it will grow on me over time, but for now, it seems that Gazette is the new DEATHGAZE, using CTRL+C and CTRL+V on most of their songs. It's a pity, as I was really excited after the first track.

As we all know, Bad Religion has no song named singing in the rain, as Laruku never made one named The Wicked End, lol.
