Now I haven't seen Kill List, but I thought it was a more folk horror-inspired film with clear connections to films like The Wicker Man, Blood on Satan's Claw, Witchfinder General and so on with a touch of Martyrs thrown in? Which wouldn't come as a surprise considering Ben Wheatley, the man behind Kill List, also made the fantastic psychedelic folk horror A Frield in England which is totally recommended by the way. Superb film! Really looking forward to Wheatley's upcoming films High-Rise and Free Fire as well. Should be great.
Yeah, you pretty much nailed it. It's a slow burn, much more psychological than physical horror, involving cults and devil worshipping. I don't recall it being very bloody, and what surprised me a lot was the change of direction. In the beggining, it seems like a normal thriller, and by the end you will be biting your nails, lol. The Canal is much more supernatural oriented, right? Ghosts, spirits and all that.
Damn, I haven't seen A Field in England yet! Ben Wheatley really surprised me with KL, looking forward to what he will bring with a more known cast.
Horror usually isn't my cup of tea, but what are some good movies that you'd recommend enjoying with your significant other?
Hmmmm... Warm Bodies? xD
If you are looking for a horror movie with romantic elements, I'd recommend checking out Thirst (2009). Its veeery good!

Lol. So it's just the vibe. I've been wanting to watch The Canal, but somehow I didn't. Gotta do that fast!

I dunno why, but "The Canal" gives me a lot of "Kill List" vibes. Is it anything like that movie, Bear (assuming you've watched it xD)?

Ya, I'm listening to them right now. They're good, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Love Brainwashed though xD

IMO, along with Donna Donna and Nega to Poji, ammonite is their best work. Love almost all of the tracks there (Mirai Iro and Moonlight <3)

Yassssssssss! Finnaly!

Oh boy! Good to know it's not very serious!

Woooow wasn't aware of this! Great news =D

31. Man. That's so young! I don't know their music, but its still really sad to hear someone passing away so young like that.
Same here. 31, what a tragedy.

Naughty CAT xD
Well, I love both eras. IMO, the old DEG has a lot more bad songs, which I just can't like (like most of MISSA and Kisou, Deity, Hydra, Garbage, Beautiful Dirt), at the same time it has absolute masterpieces (Cage, Zakuro, undecided, mushi, hotarubi, Yurameki, Yokan, audience killer loop, shokubeni, The Final, Spilled Milk, Kodou). The new-era DEG changed direction, but it is still excellent (Lotus, Different Sense and Rinkaku are my favorite songs by them, easily) with only a select few I really hate (the older songs remakes, lmao, along with Decayed Crow, The Blossoming Belzebub, Reikestu Nariseba, Rotting Root).

No, you just go straight to hell.
If I can continue to download them there... xD

I hope he doesn't pull a Nocturnal Bloodlust on me if I download the album

Just got into them and I love all of their releases so far! Very rare for a VK band nowadays... want the new single now!

Bear, thank you so much! Gonna start looking for them now!
Friday the 13th is a classic, how could I forget it? Wanna watch it again, now!
-
Do you mind old films? The 50's and 60's were great for whodunit horrors/thrillers.
Bear, I kinda prefer the newer ones, but I'm taking any suggestion, so shoot away! =D
Thanks!

Guys! I started watching the Scream TV series and I got in the mood to watch horror "whodunit" movies in that vein. I have all the Scream movies (watched 1 and 4), All the Boys Love Mandy Lane and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Already watched Urban Legend a long time ago.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Jeez, fast as heck. 5th movement will be yet another single, probably another DEG song title ripoff (DIFFERENT SENSE! )

I really agree with the above poster about the title track. It's a nice mix of other genres that Gazette didn't pull for a long time. It's grindy, heavy and dark. Then they threw it all away and went back to their generic headbanging songs...
The album as a whole is way too similar. Other than DOGMA, after the first listen I liked only DERACINE, BIZARRE and OMINOUS. I think it will grow on me over time, but for now, it seems that Gazette is the new DEATHGAZE, using CTRL+C and CTRL+V on most of their songs. It's a pity, as I was really excited after the first track.

That's right. I also got a little confused. But it has happened before and many of us didn't even notice xD
Better safe than sorry though!
