Any idea why “mizu no nigori” (impure water) was censored in the Tsumi to Batsu remake? I understand the other stuff being edited out, but unless there are some hidden connotations there that I don’t get due to cultural differences, it seems like an odd line to remove. It’s the first lyric of the song, so it makes for a kind of awkward entrance when Kyo’s vocals kick in after the edit.

    Lol Hey it still works!
  3. Saishu

Haha, i remember using part of the Mazohyst conversation as a security question. You made up your own question and answer and I used “ryouri ha ii desu ka?” “Hai.”

They’ve been touring non-stop for like two years. If they’re still not comfortable with each other there’s a problem.
  5. Saishu

Oddly enough, in the Osaka-jo Hall DVD, they don't bleep out "kikeiji".

I try very hard to forget Traces Vol. 2
  8. Saishu

I think I’m going to work on my own version of Vestige of Scratches tonight. I want to see what exactly I would put on my own best album. I’ll call it “Traces of Boo Boos”

Rinkaku is mostly just a slightly different mix. More low end, and Shinya’s toms sound less digital than the single version. The ending is so fucking gorgeous it hurts.
  10. Saishu

Un deux is the Kodou/Amber of Arche.

Behind a vacant image uroko sustain the untruth chain repulsion cause of fickleness midwife tefu tefu phenomenon the inferno and zero kaishun rinkaku magayasou soshaku revelation of mankind tousei kukoku no kyouon un deux It still needs to be tweaked. I was going for a combination of Arche at Budokan 2016.02.06 and just trying to treat it as an old school LP with a side a and side b, with and zero being the split. I also liked the idea of starting things off with one of the more somber tracks and ending with a positive one. Its still kind of a mess, but DEG never really adhering to one style makes it difficult to get a good flow.

Embryo has different lyrics and Ryoujoku no Ame has re-recorded vocals. Those are the first two I think of aside from what you already mentioned. I actually prefer Lotus’ single version. It has better dynamics I think.
  13. Saishu

It’s also funny specifically calling this a cash grab when that’s basically what any greatest hits/best of collection is.
  14. Saishu

Same here. In fact, I have a playlist that’s a drastically altered Arche with the inclusion of and Zero and Tefu Tefu.
  15. Saishu

They honestly should have just stuck with “shot in one take” videos of the re-recorded tracks. I guess I can appreciate these cheap PVs as a throwback to the low budget VK days, but they could have at least filmed one in the woods.

The problem is with the track sequencing, which is another issue DEG has. Very rarely do their albums flow well from track to track. The problem with DSS is Different Sense shouldn’t have followed Beelezebub; it’s too different of a mood shift for it to work, so they slapped on that interlude that sounds like Shinya and Toshiya tumbled down the stairs together. I mean, shit, why is Clever Sleazoid in between Namamekashiki and Ware, Yami Tote on Vestige? That’s ridiculous. Arche is a mess too, especially the latter half.
  17. Saishu

I’m pretty sure it’s in every version.
  18. Saishu

I mentioned it elsewhere, but they used several mixing engineers for this, not one. And I refuse to believe no one thinks the now-audible bass and drums in the Vulgar and WtD tracks is an improvement. Not all the remastering worked well, but then I think some of this stuff couldn’t be saved to begin with (Kisou, Marrow).
  19. Saishu

Holy shit! The way they transitioned from Gunya straight into Hidauta was sick. But hasn’t Kyo been using the theremin for a while? I thought Uta even asked him to use it on Adoratio.
  20. Saishu

All I know is I want a remastered Vulgar and WtD now.
  21. Saishu

Lol @ box set No, they’ll be individual releases like what Luna Sea did.
  22. Saishu

Know what else? Drain Away should have been replaced with Amber. The fans have failed.

I’m interested in how the voting/selection process went, because really some of this stuff is so predictable it’s shocking. I mean practically all the Gauze singles? Filth, Mushi, and Jessica were all they wanted to represent Kisou? We couldn’t get some deeper cuts from DSS like Dreambox or Ruten no Tou? And Ash belongs on here, as does any version of Undecided. Also let me talk about the PVs for a minute: they suck. Each one is the band playing in some nondescript room, with Fukai taking place in what looks like an abandoned slaughterhouse with all the hanging plastic strips. Clearly very little expense and effort was made here, despite Kaoru hilariously hamming it up for IIID Empire. But yo, the package itself is artistry. DEG never fails at that (except for Sustain the Untruth’s cover... also maybe Glass Skin depending on your mood. But just... I’m tired of the dark grey scale text on black backgrounds. Let me read your shit, dawgs.

Whatever info you need just let me know. As for ripping the documentary, considering you’re looking at the guy that was the source of the Uroboros leak and I was paranoid afterwards for months, it’s not likely. Sorry. Hoping someone else ups it with subtitles. The band is sitting there watching old clips of themselves and commenting, and I want to know what they’re saying.

Wait wait wait... I refuse to believe more fans voted for Maggots over Ryoujoku no Ame... wtf. Still taking issue with Dozing Green’s placement. Closer to Marrow or whatever, but Clever Sleazoid is in the same situation. So I just got my physical copy today, and the list of mixing engineers is rather extensive. Unless they got all the original mixers to come back and remaster the tracks they did, my guess is that all of disc 3 is untouched, because Tue Madsen is listed for about 90% of those tracks, and they’re all the ones he did originally. I also recognize Jens Bogren’s name, and he mixed the Hageshisa single (including Zan). I think these mofos cut corners on that third disc.
