    Wow, Jinkaku Radio ripoff much?
  5. CDJapan says that their will be 3 acoustic tracks per album, similar to last time. Love the covers!
  6. I can't tell if I like it more or less than the pink monkey man or naked green alien butt artwork covers of past years.
  7. Been a while! Go get em' boys.

I think I fed into the bias too much and  I feel like it just doesn't hold up to past releases imho

  13. I have not heard anything quite like LAB. THE BASEMENT. This is seriously good shit.

it's another of Ao's side projects, i think it was also during the interval between cali gari's original hiatus and their comeback, but before Lab if i'm not wrong?? Might be wrong there, not sure about the chronology, there's not a lot of info available about this project in English... Anyway, the chorus of one of the FIGURE'71 songs was also 'recycled' for the ending of Lab's 'TOKYO DOGS'. I'd say generally the sound is  closer to like Dai 6 - Dai 8 era cali gari than Lab.'s sound

I have a couple of their releases if you're interested, the tags are all fucked up tho, if that's no issue I can send them to you lol

That'd be sick! I don't care, I just want to hear more Ao haha. I actually didn't think I'd like his vocals near as much as I like Shuuji's, but he's won me over :P

  14. Agreed that the names don't sound like them, but I like them anyway. I like the whole album title actually. I'm super curious, kinda sad the hype has been so minimal—Guess that's what happens when you wait 4 years between albums?
  15. zombieparadise

OMG this look and those covers. Love it.

That's basically my conclusion on this album as well, after giving this 2-3 weeks of hard listening. It's good, not excellent—but it can't be denied that it's slower numbers have atmosphere. Hazuki's clean vocals really shine on this album, and I found the nuances in instruments nice when they broke away from their typical formulas every now and then. I don't quite understand how it hit #8 on the oricon, but it's definitely worth a few listens.

Wow, was not expecting that much of a downgrade. Other than the vocals this is not the same band. If a band's popular enough to become major (if they are indeed major), why the hell do record labels insist on changing everything that made them good/unique enough to become major to begin with? Retarded.

YES! Please upload. I only got the Special Edition. A few weeks late but I'd like to chime in with my thoughts towards the album as well. I've been listening to it on repeat for a while now, and while I was disappointed at first, I'm gradually coming to appreciate this album as something that's different from the usual lynch. I think the compositions are simpler than most of their songs (which isn't saying much), but what it lacks in depth it makes up for in atmosphere. At first the songs blended together for a really underwhelming effect, but after multiple listens, things level out and I can appreciate the album as a whole. It's nice to see a lynch. album with this many slow songs and such great atmosphere. I still hate JØKER though; I don't think that would fit well on any of their previous albums. Their better me more bangers on their next full-length though. Favorite tracks: EXIST, SENSE OF EMPTINESS, A FOOL, OBVIOUS Not bad: THIRTEEN, RENATUS, AMBLE FAITH, FAITH Boring: GROTESQUE, JØKER, FIVE
  19. Where can I find some LAB.THE BASEMENT stuff? Really want to check em' out!

  20. Man, just when I start thinking this scene is a happy lollipop land full of oshare goodness, I read about forced ejaculation and arm rapes. VK never ceases to... uh... something something

They're like a physical way of downloading a digital file. Each one has a download code on it for the songs.

That's been my experience in a nutshell. Different bands provide a different fan 'aura', but generally my experience as a 20-something's gaijin has been pretty accommodating. The awkwardness always melts away when my favorite bands take the stage anyway \m/ (I've just learned to stay out of the furitsuke for my own good LOL)
  23. zombieparadise

    Forgive me wallet.

    my feels are bleeding
  25. zombieparadise

Wow, that was a great report! Makes me feel like I was there : > As a fellow dude, I appreciate your adventurous VK spirit for venturing into these uncharted, tiny live houses (alone I'm guessing?) Also, I noticed that 'an-ko-re' 'an-ko-ru' paradox at the one lynch. live I managed to go to. Couldn't make out what they were saying and it drove me NUTS.
