Call me crazy, but that support bassist looks a LOT like Ryu from Far East Dizain.

I'm completely fine being in the remaining minority of a dying genre. I would rather find what I like on my own, then have 'them' figure it out for me. I think the whole 2006-2010 resurgence of the genre was more organic than any of the created/algorithmic/lackadaisical trends the post 2010's have given us. This was in part due to social feeds/search terms/content that we were using/sharing/discovering ourselves during this period. These days, the internet has basically been turned against its users, and through very powerful technology, we're shown a barrage of cookie cutter content that the vast majority are entertained by. It doesn't matter if it's good or not, or if some of us aren't interested in it, it's what works. Fortunately, VK is only cookie cutter enough for it's own genre, and too risky for mainstream audiences. If it takes VK following mainstream trends to get popular again, count me out. I am grateful for the old bands and existing bands that keep true to their style without selling out.

Honestly, it took me like 2-3 years of listening to it on and off before I really began to appreciate the nuances between the songs. Before that, I thought all the songs sounded really bland and same-y.

Man, Shudder gave birth to VK for me... Before that, I was just a nasty, J-pop loving anime fan. It's not even an understatement that that song single-handedly changed the trajectory of my life hahaha.

I would say Bell Salem, 深～deep～ Knight mare were their trinity, but the ones at the tail end weren't too bad either

PLAY DOLLs is my definition of a perfect album. Washed out, hazy sound, full of melancholy, and raw as hell. Love listening to it every winter on those cold, bitter nights.

I bought one for a heidi. live dist. single once; basically the code takes you to a unique URL to DL your songs, and may include some video or additional content as well. I'm in Canada and had no problem DLing the music. PS. Samples sound great! 20+ years and never afraid to experiment!

I never really knew why Hazuki left, and I don’t know all that much about Ai - or who his support band was for his solo project. But yeah, I definitely appreciate him for keeping his style alive through the years. Most bands would’ve called it quits. Good on him indeed.

Between DEATHGAZE/DARRELL, I get the impression Ai is super dedicated to his sound, but others don't jive with his intensity—Hence all the line up changes throughout both bands. Thoughts?

This is sure to be at least twice as good as that awful first album. They've improved A LOT since then.
