No need to shy away from LastFM. In my opinion, the LastFM community is the nicest one out there. I've met one of my best friends on there because we were complaining about some fangirlies at a Balzac concert in the shout box of the event... ;P
And honestly, chances are you are not going to get along with everyone, whether it's on LastFM or here on MH because just having the same taste in music doesn't mean you have anything else in common, really - However, discrepancies are usually a good thing because they encourage conversation; so don't hesitate to state your opinion, you'll probably find that a lot of people agree with you.
 
D'espairsRay is my all time favourite band, I still plan on finding Hizumi and marrying the fuck out of him.... just you wait Hizumi, just you wait.... (If he's already married by then, no problem, I'm open to polyamory)....

xD I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling that way at times. I'm more than happy everyone will support each other here so I'm no longer worrying. Trust me, you join in so much, it's really encouraging! Haha, we'll both be doing that then you know. Oh yeah, both those bands were the first ones I checked out and will always be ones I'll keep listening to. Seems to be them for most listeners huh? I can see why! xD I HATE those bands with the weirdest names, with silly symbols not even on the keyboard! I love them really actually, just, not when having to type them up. xD I understand your pain. Let's enjoy Hizumi's god like voice together (it's seriously too bad his voice became damaged, he'll always have one of the best voices in VK) and I look forward to seeing more from you on Last.fm, thank YOU for approaching me. So, well, I've wanted to join here for quite a while now, but have never had enough confidence to do it. I've actually, just today, decided to join as many social community things (sig..) as I could to try to socialise with the people I want to talk with more (even though I have no clue how to do ANY of these stuff on the internet....), but seeing as I known no one where I live who likes VK and Japanese music in general. So that's why I've decided now to join up here, in a random moment of feeling both scared and excited... So please go easy on me if I say something dumb or wrong, I just want to join in with you guys. There's too many awesome people here so, even though I'm shaking, I'd like to chat with you all as much as I can and make friends and just chat about what we all love.
So thanks for reading my pretty dumb introduction, hah, don't let me bore you, run along now or I might just be overwhelmed if anyone replies. xD Anyway, enjoy your day and see you around (love reading comments from everyone so I'll still probably stay on the sidelines still anyway xD) Aha, well, take care and everything.

^ Totally seconding both these two tracks. I'm not really a fan of intros/outros but when it captures the mood/style of the whole album, it really gets you excited and prepared for what you're about to let yourself in for. So I'll be adding two of my own choices, because I doubt I'll be able to choose another two, sorry, sorry.
 

While I prefer Hide and Seek #3, I have to choose Hide and Seek #4, by 'Pura' on their same titled album because that fits the criteria. Even the original tracks from the original album are just as eerie and mysterious, making for a wonderful and fitting close to both album versions. Also, their Ink intro and outro are just as perfect for the opposite effect of making us feel melancholic and rather lonely (imo). <3
 

My next pick is scene:RAM, from vistlip's THEATER album. Sounding ever so similar to their same album closer, scene:KISS, both songs make for a magical and exciting sound. It's uplifting, in my opinion, and both tie in very neatly to the next/previous track, making a positiviely coherent album as a whole.
 
 
Ooh, me likey! I always love a build up in a song, it's really enjoyable to listen to and makes you want to continue listening even more. I've been meaning to listen to that album of theirs for ages, wow, you've just got me hooked!

Definitely any and all of Gackts' ballads. I cry every. God. Damn. TIME. Especially with Flower. For some reason, the translation of that song kills me every single god damn time! I hope you don't mind me copying and pasting the lyrics (with link to original post of course), I just wanted to show you what I meant, since it's about loss and love and just so touching (just the last part of the song, not going to kill you with a wall of text, hopefully ><):

Also, after reading about what created The GazettE's' (I KNEW I kept spelling it wrong, thanks digitalbounce, my damn use of the only language I know is shocking) Taion, I can't listen to it without feeling so sad and dreadful. It's also the same feeling I have with Dir En Grey's Higeki Ha Mabuta Wo Oroshita Yasashiki Utsu, since I read somewhere it was written in dedication to a fan who commited suicide.
It probably appears I've just written three songs I think are just plain sad but really, I personally feel the reason why the artists had written them is the reason why I hold them very close to my heart. In memory of someone, dedication. I can't help but feel even more melancholic when I listen to such tracks. (I have probably left out so many, sorry)

No longer afraid now, I've stopped shaking seeing as I keep commenting on any thread which isn't too old (Might be wrong but, I thought you can't do that..?) I haven't spoken to a Plastic Tree fan before, and they've been my favourites for about.. two years? Again, I know I'm a bit of a late listener but they've always been that special band. Please join us in the chat sometimes, we are fun (sometimes) and we don't bite  I have been an active member here since last December and I have gotten soooo many friends already! What are your favorite bands? I checked your last.fm but you didn't have too many scrobbles yet. My favorites are Lycaon and アルルカン! I see that you like Lycaon too, welcome to the club! There are a lot of active Lycaon fans in MH!

I can understand you pretty much it's not easy when you live around people who don't share the same interest as you
and you can't talk to them about new bands, releases, etc. but it's nice to see that you took the first step to introduce yourself

Do you remember my album opener and closer threads? Good - because Pretsyboi is getting all active posting-wise, albeit "still playing safe" as usual.
 
What are the opening/closing SEs (or in formal English, intros and outros) you cherish the most? We are going with the same rules as in my previous threads, but hey - repetition is the mother of all learning:
 
When I say "intros/outros", think of them through everyday context: usually short-ish, minimal-ish and "preparing"/"finishing" piece of certain album etc. - so make sure that you put pieces that are considered as these in common knowledge or by musicians themselves (they tend to mark these as "SE"s in Asian/Japanese (?) music, FYI) - AND 4 POSTS PER PERSON/POST as usual.
 
No "nationality/language-based limitations" here, btw - so feel free to post anything non-Asian too (as in my older threads)
 
OP starting:
 
1)  Dir en grey - Kyokotsu no Nari (from "DUM SPIRO SPERO")

This album is something that radically divides people into two parts - those who love it, and those who hate it with passion. Despite these differences, I have seen many people - including myself, warming up to this introductory piece. Starting out with quite dissonant, partial piano playing - and moving on with almost apocalyptic mix of ambient-ish synths, low-tuned guitars and Kyo doing his "best Gollum impersonation" til the end...I might not be necessarily "digesting" this album that well, but god this is one hell of a hype track - despite being an intro only. Many pluses to "Kyokotsu" for sounding even creepier/more immense during lives!
 
2) Versailles - Sound in Gate (from "JUBILEE")

"Soul Calibur intro avec cheesy fantasy narration" aside, this track can be basically anything - an intro, outro or even just an interlude to something majestic! Kamijo and co. managed to position this track into such place, where it feels like JUBILEE is basically going full circle (and thus possibly making listener go for a nth round). Talk about careful planning!
 
3) Merry - Sasurai RHAPSODY (from "Modern Garde")

*whistles* talk about a classic-sounding start for a good vk classic! Merry always managed to make some goodie interludes, and this is no exception (as many "vk veterans" know it already). So get your jazz hands ready and hum/whistle along!
 
4)  Kagrra, - Miyako (from "Miyako")

Very mysterious, immense introductory number from Kagrra - I don't dig them that much, but boy - they do have some hidden gems! No "faux-Japanesque" merrymaking here, folks!

I love how experimental this band is, even though they have had some ups and downs. Satoshi has always impressed me with his vocals and the band as a whole, even though they sound rather 'western' (<- might be a wrong term I'm using, sorry) at times, I am still always impressed by them. Really happy to have seen fans enjoying MONSTER and upcoming releases so much! Better keep updated with them, missing out on so much urg!
