This just plain sucks. The band I fell in love with on "Deep Exceed" is gone. They've gone down the same soft pop track as Cyntia and Exist Trace.

K-A-Z just posted this. It's a long instrumental. He certainly is channeling Steve Vai in places. Also, BARKS had a review of the show. Not surprising, it had a bunch of Aldious covers. http://www.barks.jp/news/?id=1000116738

New music video. This band is really growing on me. That guitar solo breakdown is SICK.

Rami made her first live performance in 3 years last night. Despite the bad translations, I could tell from her tweets (RAMI_Vocal) she was very nervous. No word on a set list but there had to be Aldious songs. At this point she's only got a 3 song maxi-single out. Looks like a nice crowd. And she went up against another show, an American band called The Iron Maidens, an all-female Iron Maiden tribute band. Mary's Blood was their opening act.

The thread is about unpopular opinions, not the factually incorrect.
-
Can't say I'm surprised when the band can't keep members.

Yay resurrecting another old thread. Let's show a little love for the blue haired wonder Hana of Gacharic Spin. She has to sing and play a very hyperactive style of music, which can't be easy. And I will miss Aruto. Aldious liked to play real fast and without her steady time it would all fall apart. I have high hopes for the new girl given who her stepdad is. As for the west, Neil Peart has been my idol since my teens (ain't saying how long that is). Also love the work of Martin Axe of Opeth and Witchery, Dave Lombardo formerly of Slayer (how did I not see him listed?), Brann Daillor of Mastodon, Gar Samuelson of Megadeth (RIP), and Henry Ranta, formly Soilwork. IMO Henry played on Soilwork's best albums.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this what's known as "math metal" in the States?
-
This would get me lynch on some metal boards: Black Sabbath are boring and did not invent heavy metal, just a darker version of the blues. Judas Priest invented metal. Halford is the metal god, Ozzy is just a clown.

I know this won't be popular on a VK board... I am getting a little tired of Japanese girls not looking the least bit Japanese any more. Exhibit A:

Clip of a new song https://twitter.com/bandmaid/status/595186339684814849 And unlike 99% of Japanese bands, they are making a real effort to reach out to English-speaking foreign fans through Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/bandmaid

Thanks for the intro, they're good m8, but Shadow remains my favorite melodeath band and it's a crime they didn't do better or release more material.

Aldious announced their first single off the new album will be released in July. It was written by Toki. http://ameblo.jp/tokidious/entry-12022207887.html New drummer Marina Bozzio (she is the stepdaughter of American drumming legend Terry Bozzio. Terry married her mother in 2008) already has her first endorsement deal: with Vic Firth sticks. http://ameblo.jp/marinadious/entry-12022231292.html?timestamp=1430669852 She also apparently speaks fluent English. I assume she sent this tweet because I've never seen English out of anyone else in the band. https://twitter.com/Drums_Marina/status/595005483519324160

Scandal's "Hello World" tour has them playing 3 dates in the US this month, 1 in Chicago and 2 in southern California. May 15 is the Rosemont in Chicago (that's ambitious), May 22 is House of Blues in LA, May 23 is HoB in Anaheim. On their FB page, there is a contest for free tickets for the Anaheim show. https://www.facebook.com/hobanaheim?sk=app_1395937213995812&app_data=Scandal-Ticket-Giveaway

I wonder who is the wrestling fan in the band. "Sekira Liar" featured The Great Kabuki and this one features Genichiro Tenryu. Maybe they will include Jushin Liger in their next video. That would be awesome (that's him in my avatar)
-
Kyary-chan, of course. I need some adorableness in my life.
-
Holy shit, I just discovered something. Marina is the step-daughter of Terry Bozzio, one of the best drummers in the world. He used to play drums for Frank Zappa, and if you know Zappa you know he demanded the best players for his band. Even though she is not blood, if she learned from him she will be fucking brilliant.
-
Except the band owns the label. Yoshi started Bright Star for Aldious and to support other all-girl bands. Cyntia were labelmates, and I think Mary's Blood were as well. Could be wrong on that. The band issued a statement on its home page today. I've written my translator friend. Should have something soon.
-
Well I doubt it means disbanding. They have a new drummer and are recording a new record. Probably a shakeup brought on by the last record not selling so well. Dissolving the fan club, though, makes no sense.
-
http://aldious.net/archives/category/news Her name is Marina. They didn't mention past bands, or if they did Bing Translate didn't pick it up. (she's on the far right) She's got big shoes to fill. Aruto was a great drummer. I hope Yoshi was a little more careful this time in picking a replacement. And is that a tattoo on Yoshi's thigh?

So this video is being passed around my Facebook feed by a bunch of friends. Now, knowing Japan's penchant for contrivances (AKB48, Babymetal) and the whole maid cafe obsession, I initially dismissed it. Now I'm not so sure. For starters the song is really fucking good, so I want it to be real. So does anyone know if these girls are a genuine band, formed by the members and writing their own songs, or if they are an agency creation?

Rami held an autograph session at Tower Records with bassist Eri and look who showed up. (That's Yoshi from Aldious in the middle if you don't recognize her)
