Why does everyone sell their old consoles after a new-gen purchase? I could never part with my XBOX 360 or even the first XBOX.

I don't. I still have a ton of my old consoles...all them still going strong. Even my original PS2 fat that everyone says is horrible and dies (especially when used as a DVD player, which I did) xD And I don't think my NES will ever die.

Does anyone know about the exact differences between the 2?

As far as I've read, it seems the differences are mostly visual, but the content is practically the same.

I believe the only real difference is that they have different sets of photos, one is a bunch of full body shots while the other one comes with more of close up shots.  Don't remember which is which though.  And originally the mail order one came with a bonus postcard.
