Visual-Kei Versailles New Single and Acting in a T.V. Show

The visual-kei band Versailles will act in a television show for the first time. “Onegai Kanaete Versailles” is a late-night mini-drama that will air in a 5-minute time slot on MBS and tvk, starting this month.

The show stars Rina Koike (17) as a poor but pure girl named Rina Fukurokoujo. One day a group of “princes” (played by Versailles) appear before her to grant her every wish, no matter how unreasonable. There will be an element of comedy in their various missions, including one where they must serve as babysitters.

Out of all the members of Versailles, only vocalist KAMIJO has acting experience.

Versailles will provide the show’s theme song “Philia,” which they plan to release as a single on March 16.

“Onegai Kanaete Versailles” will air on MBS on Monday nights at 2:20am, starting January 17. tvk will broadcast the show on Friday nights at 12:30am, starting January 21.

Kind of sounds like an awkward porno to me, but I'd still buy it. Not much detail on the new single though.

I wanted to post this, but I was to lazy.

Much more excited about the new single; their previous single was excellent, no doubt this one will just as pleasant, if not better. The drama sounds interesting though, I'd love to see it, might have a laugh or two.

Okay. OH MY GOD. I love this idea. I try not to get all fan-girlish and obsessive, but I am seriously missing Versailles. DESTINY was a great single on all counts to me but it STILL had that feeling of "Well... Jubilee was in it's own a tribute to Jasmine... but... so was Destiny because we dedicate it to him by having the six roses on the cover and it's a balad and... blah blah blah" So now, I think this single will just be Versailles moving on and I'm excited to see it. Also, I need access to a subbed version of this TV show. This is fantastc.

I agree with everything in this post.

DESTINY was very well written, it's just not what I was looking for. I'm a bit nervous about them having two singles though. They traditionally put all of their singles onto an album and if they have 5+ already released tracks, that doesn't make for much of a surprise once the full album gets released. They might start to leave off B-Sides now for some reason too.

The storyline are very Shojo Anime-ish.

I just hope it won't be so predictable at later episodes,

Where these Versailles guys (or at least one of them) doing all chores

because they're in love with the girl. Because, honestly it reminds me with many shojo series,

from Candy Candy and the like. Sounds will be very enjoyable to watch

According to cdjapan there will be 3 types that all have the same songs. The types will be the same as Destiny and the live dvd will contain footage from "grand final" at C.C. Lemon Hall.

Someone on last.fm said they went to one of their recent concerts and Philia was played. They said it was faster and heavier than their last single, so if that's what the song was like then it very well could be.
