Meeting MUCC and Crossfaith were pretty epic moments. Nothing really special happened, just got to hug them and tell them how much I appreciate them. I was in the front row for the Kyutai DVD and you can spot me a few times. I ended up in GEEKS music video for a split second too, so that was pretty cool as well.

I still don't know if I manage to go to Sukekiyo in Germany this month. Probably not. Not much time left to decide.

 

I really regret not seeing Plastic Tree when they came to Poland, but I didn't really listen to them back then. Now I love them and I'm waiting for them to come back :\

 

Uh, and one more thing - I was supposed to see GramMaria live many years ago, but (if I remember correctly) their bus broke after the gig in Warsaw and they cancelled the live in the next place when all the people were waiting for them there already Not much loss, I didn't really liked them.

Some impressive lists here. I myself have only been to two concerts for Japanese bands before.

 

2010.08.03 - DIR EN GREY, London (Setlist).

2014.09.18 - sukekiyo, London (Setlist).

 

I once intended to go to DIR EN GREY's 2011 concert in London also, but backed out for stupid reasons which I now regret.

the GazettE @ Le Bataclan, France, 2007 I think (they were wearing their BURIAL APPLICANT outfits), with a parisian fella met on a vk french forum (thank to him, because without him I'd never have found the concert hall and I'd have been probably lost somewhere in Paris' maze). Lost my audition this night, that was horrible. It was so strange, I was surrounded by people thinking they were in Japan, doing para para and stuff...
I was able to go to this gig because it was coordinated perfectly with my trip in Belgium (so, before I return in the south, I stopped by Paris for the concert). My first and only VK gig.

To this day, I've only been able to go see those bands who were so kind as to come play in my country. ;3;

It's a pretty short list, consisting of D'espairsRay (2010), Versailles (2011) and D (2012). Dir en grey came like three times in Italy since I started following them but for some reason I could never go and I regret it so bad it hurts, especially when they were promoting Uroboros. Hope I'll be luckier in the future 

 

Best one was definitely Despa, "Monsters" was great live; and somehow Hizumi delivered a marvelous vocal performance despite being already ill.

I think it would've probably been best if he didn't keep on straining his voice until the end of that year (after the European leg they got back to Japan and performed some more if I remember correctly), but from a slightly selfish point of view, I'm glad I could see them at least for once. Still totally bummed about their disbandment and will always be, though.

Whenever someone mentions this I feel bad for missing out because I only got to know the group a couple of months after the show. Another one I missed was Kagrra, in 2008 because I somehow wasn't aware of the concert being held. It's a shame none of them came back to perform again.

 

Otherwise I am happy I got to see all that I wanted to see. I don't see a future for visual rock concerts in The Netherlands now. The last one that held any kind of allure was D in 2012.

Best memories would probably be brand new wave tour final last year where I met my closest Japanese friend for Souiumono. Also Bikkey telling me happy birthday and giving me a hug after their Osaka oneman. Minemura (hana shounen baddies) asking me about something I wrote in a fanletter to Tsubuku before leading me to him an Tsubuku remembering my name before Hiroshi excitedly ran up to meet me is also a fond memory.

 

Worst memory would be getting norovirus the 2nd time I went to see Souiumono. It had been months since the first time I saw them but I had to leave in the middle of them.

I'm officially over 100 lives v(._.)v Also my tumblr username has changed so that link is probably broken. Anyway adding on to where I left off...

Best memories since my last post...

• 2014.08.09: I got to see Belmosaic one last time and it was so good and so much fun even if I had no clue what the furi was since it was my second time seeing them. A girl lent me her towel and the gya were so fun and nice afterwards. They kept using English too.
• 2014.8.30: got a two shot with Syuma. We'd never met before. When I came up for the twoshot he asked me, "Misha?!" Yes, that's me!! 
• 2014.12.3: XAA-XAA's first oneman, the curtain opened up and Junko, their mannequin, was just strewn EVERYWHERE (also caution tape everywhere) and it was just so funny. Also it was really nice showing up and the gya who I had met at Belmosaic remembered me.
• 2014.12.31: Mido was dressed as a shrimp almost the entire countdown live. Bye. He also got worried about me not doing the circle mosh (I saw them five times that week, I did it every other time) for godon at the countdown live. Sorry bro My feet hurt...
• 2015.4.8: It was just such a good line up and fun from start to finish--8 hours went by in the blink of an eye which is impressive. EVIST's members are dressed as monsters and they came down and scared the gya. It was awesome.
• 2015.5.6: Being in saizen when Jin-Machine was covering a Minus song and all the girls around me having to look to me for furitsuke lolol
• 2015.5.23: Kazuki from XAA-XAA climbed the pipe and hung like a monkey from the ceiling while singing for about half a song.

I've only been to two lives outside of Japan (The Candy Spooky Theater in Boston in 2007 and Ayabie in New York in 2008)
Bands used to come within traveling distance but I was really young back then so it was impossible for me to go most of time. (D'espairsRay.......)

 

I went to a lot of lives when I studied abroad in Tokyo from September 2012 to August 2013 but I don't think I ever kept track of every single live I went to. I can work on compiling that another time.

 

Last summer I went back for three months (5/24 - 8/20) and kept a better record so I can start with that.

Some memories

• 6/7: Jojo singing the first opening for Jojo's Bizarre Adventure at the beginning of the encore. Also moshing with Jojo and Hikaru during Mimizu. It's usually just Hikaru but Jojo got down with us since it was his birthday. He got his ass tossed around like a ragdoll.
• 6/20: I felt like I was about to throw up the entire live, and I particularly felt horrible during Gallo's set but I tried to have as much fun as I could. The band definitely noticed as I got both Hikaru and Wajou's picks and some worried looks that evening. I left after their set and ran into the former vocalist of a band I liked in middle school and talked to him a bit.
• 6/25: Marblehead entered the stage from the back of the room and walked through the audience while the bassist was holding the vocalist by a leash. It was so wtf but I quite liked them.
• 7/6: Taa dumped a crate of ice cubes on us then we went straight into Dekiai Kuranke and everyone was slipping everywhere. Taa also climbed up to the mezzanine, dove on us, and we carried him back to the stage, and then sat on my head and almost ripped out my earring. Oh Taa....
• 7/26: During the encore Ryoga stage dove directly on me and my friend knocking us down to the floor and landing right on top of us. He kicked me in the face as he got himself up and used my friend's chest as a step to get himself back on stage, and when he got back on stage he spat water on us. Thanks dude.
• 8/10: I was dosen for 2nd Awake and when Aika came down to two step with us during Contradiction he tripped over my feet and almost fell on a bunch of gya in the second row. 
• 8/12: HaL got off stage during one song and started crawling and flipping all over the seats in the front-left section of the venue trying to get people to sing for him.

I have only been to two J-Rock concerts both in the US. The 1st one I went to was Dir en grey in Nov. 2008, and the most recent one was Kamijo which was yesterday. My fondest or most interesting memories of those two concerts was when Kyo from Dir en grey during one of his songs grinded his mic against the mini-stage he was standing on causing a loud grinding sound of metal on metal and Kamijo doing a 3 song encore at the end.

I live in Mexico and I haven't traveled to another country (and I was going to go to USA to see D'espairsRay and VAMPS, but at the end I couldn't and I still regret it), so my list is short:

 

• ????/?? - BLOOD I don't even remember the year... 2006? The very first Japanese band that I saw, and I wasn't very impressed. It was in an anime event, and I was there due to my brother, so lol.
• 2009/10 - Miyavi I failed a test thanks to this show. I was at the line at 7 am and my test started at 8 am, so yeah... It was worth it. 
• 2010/06 - Versailles At that time I was huge fan of them, and this show was just two days before my birthday, so it was the best birthday gift EVER. I had VIP ticket, so I got my t-shirt signed and I pissed off Kamijo thanks to Teru and his Engrish. Thanks to that I decided to start learning Japanese.
• 2011/09 - X JAPAN Mexican crowd gone wild in this show. VERY WILD. I couldn't breath, Yoshiki did a lot of crowd diving and my neck got hurt with one of his boots and his butt lol. 
• 2011/12 - DIR EN GREY One of the best shows ever, I was crying so much when it ended, that show was so wild and so perfect I just can't describe it. I also got a t-shirt signed and a photo with Kaoru and Shinya. 
• 2012/02 - Masami Okui Another anime expo lol. Not my kind of music, but well...
• 2012/07 - Kaya His live was in a place so small. I just can't say nothing more about it, it was ok.
• 2014/11 - ONE OK ROCK This and DeG's one are the best Japanese concerts that I had the pleasure to attend. The energy, the passion, the feeling... I won't forget that show no matter what. And I was so close to Taka that could see his fear when he thought about do some crowd diving (and he finally didn't do it </3)
• 2014/11 - Kanon Wakeshima The most boring one. The worst audio also. Though her Spanish was very cute.
• 2014/11 - An Cafe I always wanted to see them live (this was their third visit to Mexico) and I loved the concert. You just can't have enough fun with them.
• 2015/04 - LiSA I attended it due to work (just as some of the above) and I really had fun.
• 2015/05 - SCANDAL I wasn't fan when I went to this concert, but at the end I surely was their new fan. Awesome show, nice vocals (I loved Rina's voice) and a lot of cool rock. I would definitely see them live again.

• 2015/10/03 - VAMPS (finally in Mexico! YES!)
• 2015/11/07 - DIR EN GREY and Jupiter (thanks to DeG's VIP ticket I will have a picture with the whole band this time. Yay! Still I'm not very happy to hear Zin's voice live...)

Well, visual kei oriented I saw Dir en Grey like 4 years ago and it was amazing.

Other than that I saw Rihanna for her Diamonds World Tour in Chicago and it was absolutely amazing.

I also saw Jhene Aiko in Chicago for the Enter The Void tour with SZA and The Internet and they were all so good. 

I've always been a fan of Jhene and SZA tho so that was a no brainer.

I did get to meet Jhene after the show though and we got to take a selfie together and it was so fulfilling.

Went to my first ever concert yesterday and saw Ling Tosite Sigure, [Alexandros] and VAMPS.

Hopefully can do that again some day, but my attention span is dreadful. I couldn't do it with just one band playing, lmao. Extremely happy to have gone even though the setting was uncomfortable at first but luckily the back had loads of empty seats so I could settle in right at the back. It didn't hit me that I was seeing them for real until Hyde came out in the third 'act.' They all came out in the order I was most excited for, so we didn't need a hotel, lol. Ling was first, and drummer was adorable, with his Engrish and encouraging the audience to join in, shouting their next song out and encouraging us to do so too. At the end, all three of them threw their instrument as they went off the stage, one by one. Unreal. xD And the playing was surreal, how can they do what they do!?

Alexandros was most engaging, but Ling was just flawless with her playing. My mum even said Ling was the most bearable out of the three, ahaha, wasn't a fan of Alexandros unfortunately. xD Alexandros' vocalist was the most encouraging as he would talk to the audience during song breaks (even saying they'll come back and that they love England so that was aww) and have us sing back (granted, Hyde did that too). Never noticed how yum their drummer is though, ahaha.

I guess it's because a few more people came in after the first half, but the cheers for each band grew one after the other. I was most impressed with VAMPS, even though Hyde was just prancing around, showing off his chest, haha. I believe it was Jin who even wore a mask (I'm not great with faces and only really recognised TK and Hyde from a distance). Totally mesmerising, aha. Someone even shouted 'my mum loves you!' to Hyde while he was talking, and I laughed and thought 'not my mum.' xD I really liked how Ling ended with a slow song, and I especially liked a particular song VAMPS played which was another quieter song. Also also because of some guilt, I got their album 'BLOOD SUCKERS' at the merchandise area since I had to leave early because it was getting late and I wanted to avoid the rush and get something from there.

All in all, they've made me realise what I've been missing out with these concerts. Would love to go again.

Best part about it was that, having had 8 years of Japanese at the time, I could finally understand what they were saying when they would MC!! It was so awesome. Felt so bad tho, towering over the other Japanese girls. I hope they could see lol

The absolute best concert experience I've ever had was in seeing Seikima II and Inugami Circus-Dan at A-kon in Dallas, TX in 2011.  Seikima II was on their 25th anniversary tour with stops in Tokyo, Paris, and....A-kon.  (an anime convention)

Biopanda and I got to sit front row, and......it was just magical.  We saw them the next day as they were doing autographs, and we got a poster signed.  I talked to Demon Kogura for a second too.
