faketure 0 Posted December 15, 2011 Hi guys. Anybody knows any bands that has a vocalist with LOW/DEEP vocals? I noticed there's many bands with vocalists having quite a wide range of vocal pitch (Eg.Ruki from Gazette) but they only occasionally sing/mumble in a low voice. Are there any vocalists that sings in a low voice throughout? There's the famous deep voiced vocalists like Kaya, Juka, Kamijo, Asagi, Mori, Gackt. There's bands whose vocalists has low voices like : Gossip - Black:List - Are there any more? Let's share more low voiced vocals!
Kaleidoscope 195 Posted December 15, 2011 Interesting topic There are indeed very few singers with a low voice in J-Rock, and the one your mentioned are still rather high in comparison to a real bass. I'd say Ruki is one of the deeper voices in VK, you can for example hear it in Guren. You're definitely right with the gossip singer, didn't know he's nearly constantly using low notes oo Kyotarou isn't really low though, maybe he can go deeper than your average VK vocalist but still I wouldn't count him as a low voice. I would also add Atsushi Sakurai as a baritone who can go quite low, although he seems to feel more comfortable with the high notes. If more vocalists come to my mind I'll add them here
allisapp 303 Posted December 15, 2011 I think Heath by X Japan has pretty low voice! D: Maybe not that low, but still.
Jigsaw9 6783 Posted December 15, 2011 The guy from SPEED-iD (dark/goth/semi-VK band) has a pretty low voice, if I recall well.

sai 868 Posted December 15, 2011 D's Asagi has quite a low voice, but tends to use higher notes more often, urgh I love this guy's voice <
Tokage 5930 Posted December 15, 2011 Does Ai from Deathgaze count? And the guy from Awoi, IDK his name.
Kaleidoscope 195 Posted December 15, 2011 Ah, SPEED-id is definitely the lowest voice I have ever heard in japanese music, awesome Heath is also rather deep, while Ai and Otogi from Awoi aren't really low, but they have a very dark timbre. I agree with sai by the way, I think Asagi's natural voice is indeed pretty deep, but since he has got a lot of range he seems to feel quite comfortable with the high notes. madygrain 515 Posted December 15, 2011 Nightmare´s Yomi has a quite deep voice too.
faketure 0 Posted December 15, 2011 Oh right! How could I forget Atsushi Sakurai! Yup he does have a low voice but doesn't really sing in it a lot. I didn't know Heath sang! he kinda reminds me of Inoran. They have low voices but not really deep. WOW the SPEED-iD guys really has a deep voice... I don't think there'll be anything deeper than that... (it'll start to sound scary..) Hmm not sure about Otogi. He does hit low notes well but he doesn't really sing in a deep voice. ^ Eh? i thought Yomi has quite a high voice Anw dug up my old songs... Found some more bands with deep voiced vocalists! Dark Schneider - AILE - Nakigara (no link D: ) // did AILE change vocalists or something? because in their other songs, the vocals became high pitched compared to the song in Nakigara... mierdaculo 13 Posted December 17, 2011 I think Misa is one of the few VK singers with a genuine deep, low-pitched voice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUxD2Qost9o 1 suji reacted to this

TheBistroButcher666 228 Posted December 18, 2011 I honestly never thought of Kamijo as a low voiced singer, he sounds like he forces his voice but no complaints from me because his higher toned voice from his Lariene days grates my nerves. Couple that come to mind... Kazushi from Rouage - http://youtu.be/k_NPjhQ_Qlw Daisuke from NeiL - http://youtu.be/66EMIJTEcys Misturu from Shizuku (雫...) - http://youtu.be/cwwydZjgipE Tsukaka from Velze Dieulawahl - http://youtu.be/vbd91UMZrg0 K~ from Zig+Zag - http://youtu.be/SKydsXmNJ9s

faketure 0 Posted December 19, 2011 Ooh right Klaha! Another deep voiced singer I would add FULL of Shilfee and Tulipcorobockles and his 3498374 other projects to the list - actually he has got a pretty deep voice but tends to sing high He can really sing low and high really well O//O Kazushi from Rouage - http://youtu.be/k_NPjhQ_QlwDaisuke from NeiL - http://youtu.be/66EMIJTEcys Misturu from Shizuku (雫...) - http://youtu.be/cwwydZjgipE Tsukaka from Velze Dieulawahl - http://youtu.be/vbd91UMZrg0 K~ from Zig+Zag - http://youtu.be/SKydsXmNJ9s Hmm they don't really sound like a low toned voice, except for Daisuke and Tsukaka Kazushi maybe, but definitely not K~. (sounds quite high in the video) I think K sounds much lower in their studio recorded stuff, I guess maybe I thought of her because I'm mostly exposed to those high pitch nasally female Japanese singers, K kind of throws me off because she sings much deeper than what I normally hear. I originally thought she was a 14 year old boy when I first listened to Zig Zag.
VESSMIER 873 Posted December 19, 2011 I noticed that Nigu's voice on one of babysitter's songs was pretty low for vk standards. The song is called 死角 on their full length 空しい空の空.
Des 289 Posted January 2, 2012 Eldritch of The Sisters of Mercy and that vocalist (forgot the name) of The 69 Eyes. Although they're not Japanese, they're pretty good at what they do.

Rita from E'm grief -----> Kira fron G-Zas and S3VEN (his voice sounds like Gackt's) -------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x0q1ZDLTAY Sho from Lacroix Despheres (awesome!) ------> Oh hey, my top three favorite vocalists! As soon as I saw this topic, I immediately thought of Kira and was going to answer accordingly XD; I love his voice so much. ;___; Wish he was doing something new. I think GPK -could- count for a low-voiced vocalist. He goes pretty deep in some of his songs. Maybe Dada too... I've always preferred low-voiced vocalists, so this is definitely going to be a favorite thread for me.
