Songs that NEVER get old! (CLASSICS!)

Recommended Posts

I'm not talking about songs that you've recently fallen in love with and play a million times a day, so don't list songs that were released last week - hell, even stuff that was released within the last year shouldn't count. I'm talking about songs that you consider TRUE classics. Songs that you could still imagine listening to 10 years from now.

During the last 6 years, I've listened to a SHITLOAD of rock music from Japan (probably more than some Japanese people have in a lifetime xD). but the only song that I can say that I've consistently loved is Tokyo Jihen's Sounan. In my opinion, it's TJ's best song to date and one of the finest Japanese rock songs I've ever heard. I first heard this waaay back in 2004 when I still quite new to Japanese music, so I won't deny that it has a bit of sentimental value for me. But at the same time, there are very few Japanese songs that I heard back then that I still listen to today.

It's elegant, yet fun. Catchy, yet skillful...but most importantly, it still gets regular play from me =)

Can't get tired of Dir en grey's R to the Core, it's just the perfect length to not overstay it's welcome and stay catchy all the way through

Uchoten's GAN is another song that I probably will never get tired of, it's just that good. Doesn't even matter that it came out in the '80s ;u

cali gari's Tou is a classic as well IMO, as is like half of their discog :U

BUCK-TICK's Sid Vicious On The Beach is also a song I never get bored of. Muma -the nightmare- too.

Luna Sea - Mother

Guniw Tools - Pictures of Utopia

I absolutely love these two songs and have from the first moment I heard them. I can picture myself still listening to them 10 years from now, which I can't say for many of my current favorites.

The irony for me is that I really don't like older Jrock aside from the occaisional Luna Sea, Dir en grey, and Malice Mizer. I'm more into Instant Classics. (Which is why I would say Sink by Kaya, but I know that would be shunned upon.)

SO, INSTEAD:

REDDISH -DIVA version- D'espairsRay

Tsuki no Kioku -fallen- D'espairsRay

Tainted World D'espairsRay

Rosier, Shine, In My Dream, I for you - Luna Sea

The entire album of Merveilles by Malice Mizer

Obscure by Dir en grey (also Shokubeni)

Dir en grey - Cage

This song ( and the PV ) sums up the late 90's Vkei for me. Iconic, everybody knows it, many love it, and some people absolutely despise it. I think that is enough besides the fact that i adore this song.

Malice Mizer - Merveilles

This what you call a perfect album.

Luna Sea - In Silence, and the whole Mother album

Did i mention that 90's ruled?
