I thought for "混沌の猿" he just goes around throwing bananas or is that not the normal shtick for it??? I honestly don't own any of the DVDs and have only seen what's on youtube, and that one time I saw them. Actually that reminds me, he brought up how he would have to have the bananas individually wrapped now and "I can't throw them, I'd have to gently hand them" thanks COVID😂 😂
I think at least part of the streaming issues were server issues🤔 There's the possibility that chop had a weak connection, but that shouldn't affect the archive and the archive kept stopping for Ao and other viewers last night...
It's so funny to me that cali gari is considered a small band. I mean, even Ao brought up they were too small to do all seated venues--the subject brought up because COVID and basically "well we're all old right". Of course, I get it, but considering the level of VK I went to back in the day & considering the lives that I go to now where there's like 10~30 fans and the rest of the audience is the other bands, cali gari is huge in my eyes😂😂😂
A lot of tiny bands are doing or have done free streams (artistic public, rimcat off the top of my head), but fair point. I can't imagine cali gari doing a streamed live without some way of making money off of it. Guess we'll just have to wait and see then.

caught on DVD when couldn't remember the lyrics and desperately looking for the tele-prompter! (3:30 mark)
Should be referencing "この雨に撃たれて" in that live. Shuuji's vocals came in at a abrupt timing too but the entire band manage to run the song to its end with no other hiccups.
He reiterated his love for Dr Pepper again last night:

No problem! There were a lot of fun things from the initial stream & Ao's stream. The live itself was out of synch with audio & visual when it initially went live so the whole time everyone was talking about watching with their eyes half closed (it was pretty hilarious). Today Ao was like "quit that talk! it's fixed!!"
The live didn't start on time because Shuuji was doing last minute makeup.
Ao got annoyed by how long it took for the camera to get downstairs, which was why he was standing on the platform out on the floor in front of the stage apparently.
Ao was correcting people's japanese.
The setlist was decided by Ao & some of the songs were so old no one could play them during the rehearsal and kenjiro & shuuji suggested cutting them (but they didn't). Funnily enough it was one of the newer songs that Shuuji forgot some lyrics to (even with his prompter) lol
the world wide comments were definitely made in earnest. They had no idea about e+'s system & to be honest most japanese people probably don't even realize it either. It's a shame, especially since it was a really good live.

it's a commentary track that goes with the live footage which can still be viewed until tomorrow at 10pm if you bought the ticket. It's Ao and a staff member commenting on it. There are multiple times where ao pauses the video too so you have to make sure to pause with him if watching/listening...
highlights from the commentary:
"Kenjiro is so skilled I have NO idea why he is doing cali gari" Ao is Shuuji's biggest fan Ao is cali gari's biggest fan Making fun of Shuuji for constantly reading the lyrics from a prompter "ishii prompter shuuji" is what he ended up being called Making fun of Shuuji for standing completely still the whole time when mannequin came on Ao just went "I've come to see shuuji himself as a mannequin at this point" Ao making fun of himself and his skill level in comparison. Also, how he doesnt remember what he's supposed to do for any of the solos so he's just going JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL basically when he plays them Talking about an effector that makes the guitar sound worse and how much he loves it "Right... right there that's when i stopped playing during overnight hiking. Unfortunately e+ you have to have a Japanese phone number and credit card (or go pay at the convenience store) so I rolled my eyes every time they mentioned "people from all over the world can see this!" Hopefully the next stream wont be e+ but who knows.
I got my copy of 暗い日曜日 the other day so I assume they still have copies for people who join the fanclub now if they're still advertising it.
the big announcement is a maybe. they've had many meetings about whatever it is but there's a good chance they wont be able to announce anything. so i guess what i'm saying is dont get your hopes up

Yeah he brought up he loves it and it's sold at the 100yen lawson by his house so he's buying it all the time these days. they didn't have it the day of the live but he'd noticed it at the vending machine when they went in to chop, put 200 yen in his costume & during overnight hiking went to buy it rather than play air guitar the whole time lol

The ensoku song that ishin covered is actually called gorila no oka (ゴリラの丘)
The woman in the picture is kaworu (かをる) who was Heisei Ishin's hair+make up artist & their merch girl. She came and sang a song during the Yoshifumi Band set; it's her song but iirc she said Rai helped compose it & on the CD Yukkie and Yoshi played guitar and bass respectively on the recorded version for her. Yukkie also came out on stage for that song and also to do ruru w/ Ishin as well.

tanuki says a lot of things and sometimes it's right, sometimes it's partially right and sometimes it's wildly wrong
tbh if you can't read Japanese, I'd suggest not going on tanuki. There's so much slang and so many words that are used specifically for visual kei that translators will just botch it.
moreover you have to understand that more often than not people who are writing these things are people with a grudge taking advantage of how tanuki is anonymous. One person can write over and over pretending to be different people to make it sound more true. There are people who put their own name out there etc by themselves to get people to talk about them or to make others believe something (usually that they are "tsunagari"--have some sort of relationship with the band).
the only reason to go on tanuki is for shits and giggles, not for reliable information

While there are some valid points most of this is turned up to 10. It's exaggerated to the point of no return.
Though, I must say, dropping that much on bands? Yeah. It's true.
And of course every band is different. Most people I know have not been attacked at lives. I have had one girl knock into me during mosh because she is possessive but most of the time it's all very civil. It depends on the band though, a grieva fan when moshing slammed into my arm that had a brace on it.
As for gyaku dai, if you are prepared, it generally doesn't hurt that much. If not, what happened to suuu could happen to anyone, especially if the bar isn't padded.
I've never really been attacked or felt like I was in danger. I've had my name mentioned or "that foreigner" on tanuki but it was never a big deal. I've never felt a need to hide my social media and never really tried too hard to hide my face in photos. For girls much more heavily involved in the scene tho it is something to consider--the internet bullying.
But really there's so much more interesting and great stuff about this scene than "these girls attack you!!" And let's be real: mosh pits in the west are far more dangerous than anything I've witnessed at a vk live.
Shitty musicians exist anywhere. Musicians who sleep with fans exist anywhere.
