Tetora reacted to The Bread Wolf in Bullying topic

In addition to your defence mechanisms in bullying situations I'd advice people to be nice to everyone. That'll both eventually get you new friends and annoy the shit out of your bullies.

Yes, it's true bullying isn't restricted only in school, but also in the streets, hobbies, home, and work. For me the latter has been quite the hard part, and I've even had my shift manager bully me by humiliating me in front of other workers and clients. I've also had a couple of my co-workers pinpoint how wrong I do stuff without bothering to tell me how to do things differently. And one of my co-workers just plainly said "What the fuck do you care about me? You're just a co-worker."

But eventually I've learned, that being nice and acting normal even around the people who bully you is the best defence you can have. That annoys them so much, like their words never meant a shit to you. And everyone else around you will see how much of an upper person you are, not getting involved or trashy about the whole situation, and treating even your enemies equally.

But that's the hardest defence as well. When you've had your whole life someone always bullying you and putting you down, it's really, really, really hard to suddenly be nice to everyone. But trust me, it pays off. It might not seem like it at first, but it pays off in the end. You'll see that pretending you don't give a hoot about bullies will result in you actually not give a hoot about bullies. And other optimistic, nice people, that you wanted to surround yourself with to begin with, will suddenly, just like that, be drawn towards you.

So don't be scared to be overly happy, optimistic and smiling. If for no other reason, then at least to annoy your bullies.

Yayyy Grieva, they're one of my favorites from the newer bands~

I was a bit skeptical at first when hearing Dead[en]D but then came the fun stuff and I was completely sold. I love how they evoke that turn-of-the-century DEG-and-related-acts style while having a nice modern production at the same time. They also seemed to be moving away from those direct references on their last album, which was quite a big beast -- more consistent in atmosphere imo, but less standout tracks than the 1st one.

They look like they make quite a live show, so hopefully they'll tour overseas sometime too (or just release more live material, heh).

At first i hated them for giving up on reload, and just used them for their reload-ish songs like dead end. Then i herd the shuuen samples and they seem pretty modern to me which made me go back to their other stuff i skipped and noticed there is modern vk in there. but idk what is old school? anyway I'm liking them because they are fun with the instrumental and have a great vocalist(love him). I like them for them not because they are doing old school. I like the way the fuse both schools, and even though they recycle riffs its not annoying. Also think they are better than those old people they copying, making that fact nothing. they are my non official #2

looks i don't pay attention to with them, but kyouki should work on his lip singing. oh yeah he can look funny dancing/acting too. he should also pay attention to his hair more because it can make him look not so good.

oh yeah i think they would do a better job than diru at current/later diru too (abyss)

edit: Changed the pic because they are modern and look badass

CD review: Calmando Qual: Zetsubou no Gosenfu

Calmando Qual mini-album [Zetsubou no Gosenfu] on sale April 23, 2014

“Despair and hope,” “dreams and reality,” “death and rebirth”… The harmony of melody and soul dancing on the stage of contradiction. This dark fantasy creation by Calmando Qual, their newest work, also marks a return to the band’s musical origins.

    Only a few days left….
I was again lucky that my Japanese friend did send me the CD way more earlier than I thought she would send me (lol)

Finally after more than a year a new CD of Calmando Qual. this time it’s called a mini-album. But we get only 3 new songs and 2 old songs into a new jacket.
The CD starts with a SE  (-PsychO-), instrumental song which reminds you actually of Killer Fiction mini-album. So your exceptions goes to that it would sound like that...
The 2nd track is Zesshou an old song which was released on a special Live CD only. The new version sound great and cool, truly how a song should sound like, it’s tuned a little bit more heavy than the original.
The 3rd song Nuritsubusareta Elegy is not really a song which you would expect from Calmando Qual, the song has a very short lyric only, this also makes the melody way more important than the lyric. People can easy like this song, also those who never listed to Calmando Qual before.
The 4th song is Gareki no Yume. It has a strong lyric but also a strong melody, it has a kind of sinister dreaming feeling, like to be trapped in a dream, but not really nightmare only a little bit. It’s easy to like. The The 5th song, Death Song, old song in new jacket however they restyled the voice way to dark with editing, the original is much better…
The 6th song CRY, this song also fits inside of Gareki no Yume it has kind of similar melody. It’s a very sad lyric. The melody is dreaming sad with a bit of sinister feeling at the background.
The 7th song is an SE again, nice melody. good closing SE.

After all it’s a totally new Calmando Qual, you cannot compare it with any of their older works. It’s not the same darkness as years ago nor more recent. It’s not because of not having Kenka’s bass skills. No they kinda more went again into a new direction. Yet you recognize still few things, but it’s as you listen to a complete new band. It’s truly different.

    For old fans only…
Forget the old Calmando Qual and hug the new Calmand Qual.

    To new and newer fans.
If you like visual kei bands a lot, then you will surly love this CD a lot. it has everything what is needed to enjoy a CD.
It might not be such heavy shizzel as Meijibray or something. But it’s something you truly can like.

I shouldn't be to critical, because it’s good music. It's brand new sound of them. Everybody is a new fan in 1,2,3... <- That's how it kinda feels.
I won’t rate this album this time because, it's to different, I cannot compare it so it’s something you need find out yourself. It will be for everyone different.
Japanese fans say, that they like it. But they also know the live versions so it's more easy to like it and to have a better impression then just on CD.
Try it, love it, dislike it, hate it, like it... I would be happy if you would leave your opinion at April 23rd.

The only thing I recommend you is to buy a digital copy. (Or you need really to want to have the PV on disk, but 2700 yen for 4 full songs only is a bit to much)
CD will be available at; CDbaby (FLAC available), Google Music, Itunes, Amazon, Spotify (you can listen to it for free <- also a highly recommend if you don't wanna buy it).
So you can easy listen to it free at Spotify.
cdbaby, google music and itunes it’s only 99cent per song. so 7x 99cent is 6,93.
So… not that much. I even can recommend you to only buy the full songs so not the SE’s and death song.
Than it’s even more cheap only 4x 99cent. so 3,96.

So please support!~ at April 23rd! (Only a few days left!!!!)

I've been a long-time fan of Japanese rock, and really many things Japan (I grew up playing tons of RPGs, starting with Final Fantasy 1 on NES).  I'm a big GACKT fan as well as X Japan and Luna Sea.

I'm a musician myself, and Japanese rock has been a major influence for me.  I'm excited to join here because I've been listening to the same artists so long, I'm really eager to learn about new bands and artists I haven't heard yet.

    Hi!

I'm kasupaa, new to MH! I found my way here trough my friend, Paradoxal, who forced me to sign up haha :DD

Anyways, I'm 21, living in Helsinki, Finland, hello!

I've been listening to jrock, more specifically Visual Kei since the end of 2005, so for over 8 years now! It all started with Dir en grey's Kodou, still one of my favourite tracks, even though the band does not inspire me that much anymore, their gig in 2007 in Helsinki was a disapointment. Somewhere in between I had a pause from actively following the VK-scene (during which many of my then-favourite bands disbanded, so sad), and listened mostly k-pop and western pop. My musical taste is a mix of quite everything, all the way from Moi dix Mois to Madonna, so :DD

I have listened to a lot of different bands, and like a lot, but have actually just a few ultimate favorites. For a loooong time, from 2006 to perhaps 2010, ayabie was my all-time favorite band, but now I would state Matenrou Opera as my favorite, Ayame is my favourite member (as you might figure out from the avatar ). Please don't ask for a favourite song since I like them all haha, but if you do, it's either Ruriiro de eigaku niji or Hiai to Melancholy. One of my happiest moments ever was when I got my copy of acedia, still the most awesome single ever. The Gazette is a band which I really like, it was a dream come true to see them live in Helsinki last september, but I fear they are becoming very generic, losing their edge or something. Xepher is a new discovery I like very much and look forward to see what they have to offer the scene :DD also, I like Lycaon (paradoxal rubs it in my face :DDD), bakane is a work of art. Really, it is. That modulation comes from above (or something).

I love love symphonic rock, like Versailles and the like a lot, have a weird craving for kotekote kei (love LOOVE Metis Gretel, Sui is an amazing vocalist), but really enjoy more relaxed styles like oshare as well (is it really bad to like An Cafe? :'D).

That's what I come up with, feel free to ask me anything!

B.P.Records' boss made a blog entry where he explained that actually the label didn't want to sign another band after Royz and Kiryu because they were so busy with them and wanted to support those two bands as good as possible.
Codomo Dragon tried it a long time and in the end they were very convincing, so the boss of the label changed his mind and decided to sign on them.

Personally, after reading that blog entry and seeing that the label was pretty fine with having only two bands under contract, I don't think they will sign another band in the near future.
    But who knows...... ^^

I find that thought to be hilarious...getting away from people by going to a city of 10+ million people XD

I have been traveling since I was a little kid, though mostly it has been with my parents. My parents have always been in to traveling so I have reaped the benefits. First lets list the big trips:

    Outside of the US:
    England (1998-ish)
    Switzerland (2000-ish)
    Canada (2001-ish)
    Japan (2004)
    Ireland (2008)
    Norway (2009)
    Denmark (2009)
    Sweden (2009)

Most of my traveling has been inside of the US, though, and mainly to mountainous areas (both for skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer). The states I have been too:

    Alaska
Colorado (I go pretty much every year to go skiing, some years I have gone twice. Also have been out twice in the summer)
    D.C.
Florida (pretty much to go to Disney World when I was younger)
    Illinois
Indiana (really only driving through lol)
    Michigan (both Upper and Mainland)
Missouri (vague memories of St. Louis
    Montana
    New York
    Oregon
    Utah
    Virginia (pretty briefly)
    Washington
Wisconsin (this doesn't count, I live here )

    Good thread~
Apparently the first place I traveled to was Puerto Rico but I don't remember as I was a toddler. Since then I've been to Curitiba (Brazil), Antigua(Caribbean), I've lived in Tokyo for the past 4 years and have also been to Sapporo. Now that I'm out of school I plan on visiting elsewhere in Japan. Went to Marrakech (Morocco) this past February (as well as a day in Madrid layover, passport stamped so it counts I guess lol...same with Beijing actually) and hopefully going to Thailand/Laos/Vietnam with friends later this year. My dad migrated to the US from Liberia but I've yet to go and visit family there but hopefully this will also be sometime soon since my dad took a trip back recently and everything seems to be getting better.
As far as in the states, since my mom is from Florida and most of my family live in the south (Maryland,Virginia, Mississippi, Georgia etc.) I've been frequently. I lived in Philadelphia by myself for about a year and a half. Visited LA once after H.S. graduation with my besties at the time.
I want to retire in Sapporo I love that place so much. And Marrakech was amazing!!! So different from the cities I'm used to but i truly loved it and hope to go back some day.
