  1. Honestly, hair aside, I'm kind of into Minpha's look. I always have a vague hint of respect for VK guys that are committed enough to wear skinny high heel shoes instead of just platforms and chunky heeled boots.

Half time Old's new album is on Spotify! Wish I hadn't found this out after weeks of waiting for the CD to arrive, but oh well. I'm really happy to see them getting more promotion - Hakken to Gimon was such a great release, and this one is sounding really good too so far. ❤️

    God, I love Masaharu's voice.

It is similar to the last look, but I'm happy to see the purple coming back in a bit. Purple Daisuke is my favourite Daisuke.

I just watched a mix of dub and sub episodes of "Angels of Death". The voice acting for Zack is kind of fabulous in both versions, and he's an endearing character, but the anime gets stupid after the Eddie floor, and the part where Zack cuts through iron bars and giant pieces of rubble with an ordinary scythe just because of the power of friendship or whatever made me groan. Also, I wish I could wipe every instance of Danny calling Rachel's eyes "perfect peepers" in the dub from my memory.

The YouTube version is a bit different from the version on the mini-album, so there are a few lines around the middle that you won't hear in the video. Also, I couldn't really check some of Tomo's parts, so I'm not 100% sure I've used the correct readings for some characters or if he changed some of the words from what was written (the line starting with "Ni-dan...", in particular, doesn't sound like what's written in the kanji lyrics). Points for working the phrase "anaphylactic shock" into a song so smoothly, though. Tackrou and $EIGO's parts are in [ ]. ^Embedding stuff from Victor isn't allowed for whatever reason, so you have to watch it directly on YouTube. Well, the main thing I play is SNES and GBA RPGs (on an emulator), so the music can be a bit dated... If I'm playing something like Zelda on a console I'll usually leave it on. I only own like an N64 and a Wii, so I'm playing it on Steam on my rickety old laptop. It's not exactly ideal, but it's been working okay since I'm just playing casually. I've really been enjoying it so far. I bought Fallout 3 as well to try next, since they were both cheap and I remember watching someone play the first bit of it ages ago.

I've been playing Fallout: New Vegas recently. I'm usually more of a turn-based RPG/strategy person, but I actually played a few minutes of it as part of a psychology study in university, and I've always kind of wanted to give it a shot since I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic stuff. The VATS system is a huge selling point for me, since I'm not great at shooting and my reflexes suck. Makes it almost feel like playing a grosser, more active version of Fire Emblem sometimes. I really like the soundtrack too. Which is rare for me, since I usually mute the sound when I'm playing video games.

^I think the one on the left is supposed to be Uta from Tokyo Ghoul. Seems to be a popular choice this year. Tomo from Hysteric Panic dressed up as the same thing and I didn't even realize it was a costume until I saw that someone else in my Twitter feed had the same fake tattoos. I think the second one from the right might be Karasu from YuYu Hakusho.

Teru from GLAY as Squall from Final Fantasy VIII, with like some bonus accessories on top. Here's the full outfit, with DAIGO (BREAKERZ) as Tom Cruise's character from Mission Impossible on the left and Hitsugi (NIGHTMARE) dressed as Catbus on the right. Hitsugi and HYDE as the Queen of Hearts

Started Liar Game yesterday since I ran out of new Kakegurui chapters and I'm a sucker for super dramatic series about gambling. I tried to watch the live action series of it years ago, but I couldn't get into it. Pleasantly surprised by the manga though. I've already read tons of chapters. It kind of reminds me of Kamisama no iu toori - especially the musical chairs arc, since it's a twisted take on a kids' game - only Liar Game is way less violent and much more optimistic about human nature. ...although I guess that's probably why I don't like it quite as much. Still a fun read though.

^Lol, X JAPAN is the only concert I've ever been to where someone yelled "Get off the stage!" at the opening act (and I've seen some atrocious opening acts), so yeah, I'd agree that some X fans can be a bit obnoxious to other bands.

I missed seeing andymori on one of the early Next Music from Tokyo tours. Was too close to another event to convince my friends to go with me, and I was too shy to go to the concert on my own. Plus I didn't really know their music that well and I was a bit nervous since I'd never been to an event like that. A year or two later I ended up really falling in love with them, and they disbanded not too long after, so I still regret it a bit.

JOY, the guitarist from BABOO, I think speaks almost fluent English? He mentioned that it's because he used to live in Canada.

It's still a little early for Halloween this year, but Fukusuke's Pooh-kusuke costume was pretty cute.
  17. violetchain

That's surprising. When I saw them live I thought MASATO looked about the same age as ANGEL-TAKA, if not older.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is DAISUKE (THE SOUND BEE HD) is 49.
  19. violetchain

YOU, the bassist from THE SOUND BEE HD, speaks English fairly well. Her English isn't perfect, but she has translated for the band during interviews/streams before, and you can message her on Twitter and stuff and she'll try to reply in English. I think she mentioned when they appeared on a variety show that she was a flight attendant before joining the band, so maybe that's where she picked some of it up? This video has some clips from the show, including YOU doing the seatbelt warning before takeoff in Japanese and English.

Oh no. It's too bad they couldn't work things out.

This looks like a weird modern rock side project some old VK dudes put together for fun with some random hired guns, tbh, so I can't imagine it would do very well. I think the only real draw here would be CIPHER? I know two REIGN songs, but I'm not really familiar with any of these guys otherwise. The cover art matched the title oddly well though.

I'm not really a big fan of autographs, tbh, but I got a tote bag signed by the members after UCHUSENTAI:NOIZ's Q&A at Anime North, just because it seemed like the thing to do. Just wanted to show some support since they were so entertaining the previous night. Dunno what I did with that bag though. I put it somewhere when I moved and I haven't seen it since.

I love this song, but I'd never actually seen the whole video. Jesus, like every single shot of it is amazing.

Sadly no, the platy I meant is a type of fish. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platy_(fish)
