I can assume they're taking the place of Karasuna Mei to fuyukai no tomodachi (and by taking place I mean just reorienting to this look/name, I suppose) at AREA on 5/6. I'll try to do a live report and write up my thoughts on their set (though hoping we get some music prior to that date)!

Just saw this on my Twitter timeline and got confused until I dug a bit deeper. Intrigued!!

Preview intrigues me much more than the video. Will definitely give this a spin.

My job is super generic office fare and nothing worth talking about ever happens, but in one week alone we've had a random film crew on site for some unknown Netflix show and yesterday they found someone dead in the parking deck so there's that

It's like they tried to write a speedy riffy metal song, but left the riffs at home 🤔
  10. had the realization that まみれた kinda vibes like Vein/Knocked Loose/all the nu-metal tinged current hardcore bands and now i want to see them play a western hardcore fest 🤔

Heart react for Sheetz. Sheetz is the truth. King of all gas stations. Really, though, I always knew the sugar content in this stuff was high, but I literally took a sip, looked, and said "WHAT!!!" Not exactly the paragon of health myself, but 129% is pretty hard to ignore. Back to LaCroix I go...

Today I bought an Orange Vanilla Coca-Cola on a whim. I never really buy soda. Looked at nutritional facts. 129% of my daily recommended sugar in one bottle. 😲

I think it was said on here or in video comments that this was a non-VK metal show and they ended up playing last, so all of the people were either specifically there for them or just wanted to stick around and see what they were all about. Not sure if I'm mixing it up with a different event, but I feel like I read that when other videos from this set were posted, so that probably explains the crowd-size.

I don't like that I don't really like this. I don't know what it is, it's just...missing something? Some of the riffs are weirdly out of key which I think I'd usually find sorta interesting, but it doesn't really work for me here because the melodies on top of them aren't strong enough to carry it. His harsh vocals don't sound too great, either. All of that in mind, I do have to give them credit because the song is definitely interesting, just not really sitting right with me for some reason.

I think they sound pretty damn good in that clip? I think the instrumentals sound as they should in a live setting and any difference in Sho's vocal performance seems more emotive than anything. Can definitely sense a bit of exhaustion, but I think he sounds fine. Also, I know it's been said that Sho inhales most of his harsh vocals, but there were a few points in that video specifically that sounded exhaled rather than inhaled. Maybe he's experimenting a bit with his delivery? I certainly hope so - inhales seem less ideal for one's vocal cords overall and he's got such talent I'd like to see him stay healthy.

Interested to see what it is, exactly. New songs or something related to CHEDOARA? (@yomii pointed out yesterday that CHEDOARA came from the word kidoairaku) Hope some kind soul grabs a copy and rips it! Either way, also glad actual news is still hitting past the new looks. Makes hopeful we'll finally hear a bit of new music soon.

Some off-amp distortion/overdrive that most swear by are Boss HM-2 (super heavy), Big Muff (super fuzzy), or Fulltone OCD (maybe the best overdrive pedal of all time). If you want something fun and wild to mess around with for super cheap, you could look into a Danelectro Fabtone. For really straightforward old-school distortion, the simple Ross Distortion pedal can do no wrong.

I think my thoughts on their original stuff is that their mini-albums were more standout than the full-lengths. MADARA and Cockayne Soup have some of the most standout Gazette tracks ever. I like Disorder a lot, NIL is pretty good imo, and Stacked Rubbish has Filth in the Beauty/Hyena which bump extra hard. I guess after listening to them all in succession DOGMA stands out to me because it feels like everything after those albums fully realized in a cohesive package. I'll always dig the early mini-albums, but when it comes to "the GazettE" I feel like DOGMA is the album I'm most likely to revisit. (Though The Invisible Wall has been stuck in my head for days now...)

  24. So, is anyone going to this? AWA is my favorite con, would be wild to meet Mana...
